Wen Duoduo widened her eyes and sprang to her feet, shouting: "Jinyan, watch out!"

The next second, she bolted towards the direction of the stage on the first floor, loudly calling out Lu Jinyan’s name.

But the exclamations from the audience downstairs drowned out her cries, and she was too far away for her voice to reach Lu Jinyan on stage.

Not just Wen Duoduo, even Lu Jihan was in shock.

"Jinyan! Get out of the way! Jinyan!"

Yan Xue turned pale with fright while Song Yinyin clung to the railing, her hands flailing wildly: "Jinyan, Jinyan! Up above! Be careful!"

On the stage, Ning Wan was the first to react, glancing upwards.

She instinctively reached out, shoving Lu Jinyan hard on the shoulder.

Lu Jinyan, unprepared for the push, stumbled back several steps, collapsing to the ground.

A massive lighting fixture, weighing dozens of kilograms, came crashing down, amidst loud noises mixed with people’s screams.

Yan Xue screamed, her vision turned black, and she fainted.

Song Yinyin instinctively covered her son Song Dabai’s eyes, her almond-shaped eyes wide open, flickering with turmoil.

Lu Jihan wished he could jump directly down from the second floor to rescue the two people on the stage.

As the colossal lighting equipment shattered into pieces upon impact, Wen Duoduo arrived just in time.

She watched, helpless, as the fixture fell and struck Ning Wan’s ankle squarely after she had pushed Lu Jinyan away.

"Ah—"

A piercing scream of agony, and Ning Wan fainted from the pain.

Wen Duoduo stared in shock, covering her mouth, her vision turning red from the blood pooling around Ning Wan.

Someone snapped out of their daze, shouting: "Help! Someone call for help! There’s someone injured! Oh my god, it’s Ning Wan!"

Boom—

The stage descended into chaos.

The security personnel also rushed over.

Soon, Lu Jihan and Shen Kang arrived on the scene.

In the chaos, someone bumped into Wen Duoduo, causing her to regain her senses and rush towards the stage, only to find herself blocked by a crowd of people surrounding it...

Until Lu Jinyan emerged from the crowd, carrying Ning Wan!

He seemed oblivious to her, urgently calling to the security guards: "Quick, quick, quick! Get a car ready! Take her to the hospital!"

He dashed outside swiftly.

Wen Duoduo’s vision blurred.

.........

Yan Group, President’s Office.

In the hundred-square-meter office, Yan Kejun stood at the best-lit area, overlooking the Imperial City’s nightscape.

In the distance, the egg-shaped Mainland Theater was reflecting the city’s colorful lights, standing out prominently.

The challenge was how to leverage the defeat of Mainland Group; this was a conundrum.

Unlike his initial ambition, as he delved deeper into this circle, he increasingly realized how daunting this task was, far harder than he imagined.

He had already expended all his efforts in revamping the Yan Family; fulfilling his uncle’s wishes now seemed near impossible.

Ring—ring—ring—

A sudden urgent phone ringing interrupted his thoughts.

He turned back to the desk and answered the phone.

"Hello, Mr. Yan, there’s been an incident at Mainland Group!"

"What happened?" he asked with a frown.

"Just now, a major accident occurred at the Mainland Grand Theater, a lighting fixture weighing several dozen kilograms fell from above the stage and struck the renowned pianist Ning Wan’s foot. She’s been taken to the hospital."

What?

Yan Kejun was stunned, his eyes suddenly narrowing.
