Chapter 449: Chapter 270: 2 Choices
BAM!
Su Xing grabbed his opponent’s head and instantly slammed it into the ground. The earth trembled as if struck by a small meteorite, the massive jolt felt even by the ordinary tourists outside.
A deep pit spiderwebbed with cracks appeared in the ground. The man Su Xing had grabbed lay there, his head split open and the Sparrow Sword run through his chest.
A one-hit kill.
He couldn’t be any deader.
"Du Biao!"
Li Ba roared, "You! You! Do you have any idea what happens to those who offend Jile Valley?!"
’How is this kid getting stronger and stronger?’
"No wonder even that Chi Yu fellow died at the Cyan Cloud Sect. This mission is a bust. We need to get out of here, now!"
Watching Su Xing’s thunderous strike, Sha Quanjia felt the urge to retreat. He had known of Su Xing for a long time, but he never expected him to get stronger and stronger with each encounter.
Now, he could even one-shot a Tier Eight Powerhouse. Although surprise was on his side, such power was still terrifying.
As he spoke, the figures of Li Ba and Sha Quanjia dissipated like shadows in the sun, their escape speed making them impossible to track. Only one, who was slightly slower, was felled by one of Tong Yinyin’s silver needles.
"This... This is... the Silent Extinction Demon Skill?"
The man lay on the ground, and the thought of Du Biao’s gruesome death sent a tremor through his very bones. He scrambled backward a few steps.
He was Du Biao’s apprentice, a man named Night Cat. While he was indeed older than Tong Yinyin, in terms of seniority, he ranked below both her and Li Ye.
"Your master wanted to see my true face," Tong Yinyin said with a quiet smile.
"So what have *you* accomplished?"
"Th-that... That was just my master talking recklessly! It has nothing to do with me! For old times’ sake, I beg you, please be merciful! Spare me..."
Night Cat hurriedly pleaded for his life. It wasn’t that he wanted to beg from an enemy, but the circumstances left him no choice. Who would want to die here for no reason? But Tong Yinyin simply took a step forward, and Night Cat’s entire body curled into a ball.
Intense pain raged through his body. He roared in agony, "AHHH!!!! What did you do to me!"
"I merely used a Shadow Needle imbued with Silencing Demon Qi to pierce a few of your acupoints, that’s all."
Acupoints. To any Extraordinary Being who had advanced through their own training, they were an all-too-familiar concept. After all, everyone’s cultivation relied on energy flowing through acupoints to progress—with the exception, of course, of a freak like Su Xing who relied on a system.
Therefore, the man instantly understood the implications of Tong Yinyin’s words, and his expression changed drastically. But before he could react, Tong Yinyin spoke again, her tone nonchalant.
"Don’t worry, Night Cat. You can’t go anywhere now. In just a day and a night, the Silencing Demon Qi will have devoured you from the inside out, grinding your very bones to dust, and you will die."
"You... you! Ah! You’re so vicious!"
Night Cat roared in agony.
"Heh," Tong Yinyin said coldly. "You’re his disciple. I’m well aware of the things you’ve done. When you were tormenting those innocent girls, did you ever imagine you’d face a day of reckoning like this?"
"I... Pah!" Night Cat spat back furiously. "You... you cultivate a demonic skill like that... and you think that makes you any better than me?!"
"I... I...!"
Before he could say another word, the Crimson Flying Sword flashed out, instantly severing the trembling Night Cat’s head from his shoulders. Even as it landed on the ground, his face was still twisted in a mask of unconcealed agony.
"So compassionate of you," Tong Yinyin remarked, glancing at Su Xing. The Sparrow Sword had already returned to his side, where it hovered quietly. Su Xing simply glanced back at Tong Yinyin, shook his head, and said:
"I just thought he was talking too much."
"If he had attracted innocent bystanders, it would have caused an unnecessary commotion. That would go against the principles of our special organization."
"Is that so?"
Tong Yinyin said with a smile, "And here I thought you just couldn’t stand to listen to him anymore."
"Too bad he wasn’t wrong."
"The number of people I’ve killed is no less than his."
"..."
After a moment of silence, Su Xing said, "Jile Valley set this ambush; they definitely won’t let this go. You two should come back with me to Cang City. Brother Zhongxing has already agreed to stay there for a while."
"..."
Li Ye said nothing, glancing at Tong Yinyin as if waiting for her answer. Tong Yinyin simply shook her head apologetically and said:
"We still have some things to take care of here in Hang Lake. Besides, now that Brother Ye and I have gotten our revenge, we’re free of our burdens. I just want to live a quiet life, like a hermit in the mountains. There’s nothing wrong with disappearing from the world for a while."
"I will always be grateful for your help. If there’s a chance in the future... Brother Ye, let’s go."
Tong Yinyin left her sentence unfinished, her figure vanishing in a flash. Only Li Ye and Su Xing remained. Li Ye sighed softly and said:
"Fellow Daoist Su, you’re the head of the Cang City branch. Yinyin has always felt a great deal of guilt over her actions. She doesn’t want to implicate you because of who she is now. Please, don’t take her words to heart."
"As Yinyin said, we still have matters to attend to in Hang Lake. Thank you for your help. If fate allows, we will meet again. I will take my leave now."
Li Ye said, cupping his fists in a salute.
"...Li Dao You, take care."
Su Xing nodded.
