The soldier and the young scientist continued down the corridor for several more minutes before the young scientist stopped in front of a white door. He took out his ID card and used it to unlock the door.

Pshhh!

As the door opened, the scientist turned to the soldier and reminded him, "Please don’t touch anything inside."

"Understood."

With that reminder, the young scientist led him inside.

The moment he stepped through the doorway, the soldier was greeted by rows of rooms with glass doors and windows lining both sides of the spacious corridors.

Inside, groups of scientists in white lab coats were engrossed in their respective tasks, while others gathered to discuss matters that appeared to require their immediate attention.

After a brief glance at the busy researchers, the soldier continued following the young scientist in silence.

A few minutes later, the scientist stopped in front of another room and unlocked it with his ID card. "Please come in."

As the door opened, the five scientists inside turned toward the entrance.

The young scientist nodded to them before introducing the visitor. "This is the soldier from the Third Division."

The oldest scientist rose from his seat at the head of the table and gestured toward the soldier. "Please place it here."

The soldier set the box on the table before saying, "I will wait outside for the results."

"Alright. The tests will take at least ten minutes."

"Understood."

Once the soldier had left and the door closed behind him, the oldest scientist opened the metal box. The moment the scientists caught sight of the enormous carrot inside, they gasped in astonishment.

"Oh, my God! I’ve never seen a carrot this big before!" exclaimed the only female scientist in the room.

The oldest scientist put on a pair of white gloves and examined the giant carrot with a serious expression.

A few moments later, he looked at the others and said, "Let’s begin. This could be our opportunity to discover new vegetable varieties that could replace the old varieties."

"Yes, Professor!"

While the scientists busied themselves with the tests, time flew by. Fifteen minutes later, the results were finally ready. What they revealed left everyone in the laboratory room utterly shocked.

Looking at the test results displayed on the monitor, the oldest scientist’s eyes reddened. He grabbed the edge of the monitor and stared at the screen, his hands trembling as he muttered, "This is a miracle... This is a miracle!"

Finally recovering from his shock, a middle-aged scientist tore his gaze away from the monitor and said, "Professor, this is a groundbreaking discovery! If we can find the seeds of this mutated carrot, humanity might be saved!"

The oldest scientist nodded and quickly wiped away his tears. Turning to look at his students, his expression grew solemn.

"I will report this matter to the higher-ups. Until an official announcement is made, none of you is allowed to reveal anything about this mutated carrot."

Understanding the significance of this discovery, the five scientists nodded and responded in unison, "Yes, Professor."

After stating their agreement, the middle-aged scientist asked, "Professor, should we keep the test results from the Third Division?"

The oldest scientist thought for a moment before shaking his head. "No. We must inform them of the results."

"Why?" the female scientist asked with a hint of doubt in her voice.

The oldest scientist turned to look at her. "Do you know where they obtained this mutated carrot?"

The female scientist froze for a moment before shaking her head, a hint of embarrassment in her eyes.

Seeing her reaction, the oldest scientist knew she understood his point.

Looking at the others, he continued, "Since the Third Division is the one that brought us this mutated carrot, they must know where it came from. If we want to find its seeds, we can only turn to them for help."

He paused briefly before adding, "Therefore, we cannot hide the results from them. Instead, we must tell them everything. Only when they understand the value of this mutated carrot will they be willing to help us find its seeds."

Lowering her head, the female scientist said, "Thank you for the reminder, Professor."

Waving his hand dismissively, the oldest scientist turned to the young scientist and instructed, "Give the test results to the soldier and tell him that I will report this matter to the Great Commander."

"Yes, Professor."

Upon receiving the order, the young scientist printed out the test results, then picked up the metal box containing the Basic Carrot.

When the soldier saw him coming out of the room, he immediately approached and asked, "Are the results ready?"

The young scientist handed him the metal box and the printed test results before saying, "My teacher said he will report this matter to the Great Commander."

Hearing this, surprise flickered in the soldier’s eyes. "Why?"

The young scientist remained silent for a moment before leaning closer and lowering his voice.

"You will understand once you have read the test results. You’d better keep this matter a secret. The fewer people who know about it, the better."

Staring at the young scientist’s serious expression, the soldier nodded. "Thank you for the warning."

Patting the soldier on the shoulder, the young scientist added, "If your captain wants to know more, you can ask him to contact the Great Commander directly."

With that, the young scientist turned around and returned to the laboratory.

The soldier watched him go, then glanced through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows at the scientists inside. Their faces were filled with a mixture of excitement and solemnity as they continued discussing the results.

Frowning slightly, the soldier lowered his gaze to the metal box in his arms. After a moment of thought, he shook his head and left the laboratory.

Five minutes later, he walked out of the building. He climbed into the military armored car waiting outside and ordered, "Return to the main square."

"Yes, sir."

As soon as the soldier closed the door, the driver pressed down on the accelerator and drove back toward the main square.
