TALENT STEALING MAGE
Chapter 45: Chapel of light
The scene around him changed, he was suddenly standing in Oden, but an attack was happening. Undead flooded the city, but these ones were far more savage than anyone that had attacked before, they moved faster and killed far more savagely, the entire city struggled to keep itself standing.
He looked to the sky and there he saw hundreds of flying undead, they flew down fast and grabbed people, ripping them apart limb from limb, their blood spraying down like rain.
Leon felt his heart race as he watched, and then he saw a figure in the distance, winged and flying, glowing red eyes. He tried to focus on it to see what was that, but suddenly he snapped out of the vision.
His heart slammed hard into his chest, and he struggled to breathe a bit. He tried to calm down, but suddenly he saw a timer appear in front of him. Thirty days from now.
Leon stared at the timer and his heart started racing even harder, his breathing got loud and heavy, turning into loud wheezing that he could barely control.
He saw flashes of what had happened at Belmont and his fear grew even more.
’Deep breaths, deep breaths,’ he told himself in his mind, forcing his raging mind to calm down. He struggled back to his feet after a few seconds, he found a few guards close to the gates staring at him, they were probably wondering what was happening over there.
"It’s thirty days, maybe, just maybe this time I can do something that can help." He clenched his fist tight as he thought about it. Maybe this was the one moment where he could truly start fixing his mistakes.
He stared at the Pilar location, he could still see the countdown.
He turned and headed back to town. The moment he left, a figure appeared there, a woman, she stared at him leave for a few seconds and then she vanished again.

Night came sooner than expected, Leon sat down at a restaurant and had a meal, they were one of the few restaurants that stayed open late into the night, so he sat there and ate. A plate of potatoes and steak.
Leon sat at the counter, he ate eagerly and when he was done he placed everything down and dropped some coins on the table.
"Seems you are pretty hungry kid, will this be enough for you today?" A middle-aged man walked out from the kitchen behind, he grabbed the plates and looked at Leon.
"Yeah, I’m fine old man, this was enough and great as usual," Leon said, he sat up straight and then stretched a bit, "ahhh, I wish I could sit here and eat all day," he said. This man was one of the few people he actually talked to normally, aside from him, no one had really heard his voice.
"You better not do that kid, haha, your presence scares everyone, your aura ain’t friendly," the man said, he leaned into the counter. "How does a kid your age even gain such an aura from?" He asked.
"Aura? I don’t really know what you mean," Leon said, he smiled and got up.
"Tch, keep hiding your secrets kid, I’ll find it out one day," he said.
Leon waved as he walked out.
The crystal lamps of the city lit up the road, a warm glow that allowed everyone to see where they were headed to.
Leon walked down the street, heading toward the chapel, it was time for him to meet with the man once again. It did not take too long, a ten-minute walk from where he ate.
He arrived at the chapel of light, a massive chapel close to the center of the city. It had no fence because it welcomed all. Leon walked up to the door, he knocked twice.
The door opened and a man stepped out, he was dressed in a black priest robe, bald head and eyes as well.
"Good evening, do you wish to pray inside the chapel?" He asked.
"I wish to dine under the crimson moon," Leon replied.
The man’s demeanor changed immediately, he looked around to see if anyone else was there and then he opened the door.
"Come in," he said.
Leon walked in and the man closed the door, he let Leon inside the chapel, through the pews.
"Uou are a priest for the chapel of light and yet your robe is black," Leon said.
"All are unclean before the goddess of light, and only until you are cleaned can you be seen as white. I am yet to be cleaned, so I must bear this robe as a sign of my uncleanliness," he explained.
"I see," Leon replied.
The man led him to a door at the other end of the chapel and then he opened it.
"Head in through the hallway and you’ll see a door at the end. Knock three times on the door and wait."
"Alright," Leon replied and walked in. The walls were lined with torches as he walked. It was made of bricks that curved into arches at the top.
He arrived at the door, it was made of metal. Not wanting to carelessly walk in, he activated his aura eyes and looked, and inside he saw five figures each with huge amounts of energy spilling out of their bodies.
He also noticed that they were all in strategic places of the room that ensured there was no way for him to secure his location safely, if he stepped in, he would be at their mercy.
’Something is definitely off here,’ he thought to himself, his hand already moved to his wand, he cast a spell and held off on the last part of the spell, as long as he did not need to use it he could easily diffuse it or complete it if he needed to.
He knocked on the door twice and waited, someone opened the door from inside, the man from the bar.
