The University That Chose Wrong

Principal Lawrence’s voice trembled with excitement.

"This year, you’re the undisputed dark horse. You’ve already caused quite the stir!"

"Early admission?"

Leon’s interest piqued.

His purple eyes narrowed slightly.

Taking first place had caused a stir? Good.

Early admission came with resource allocation.

That was what interested him.

He didn’t care much about the title of genius.

Resources were what mattered.

Cultivation required them.

Beast- girls required them.

And his own growth required them.

He just had to see if those universities could offer the right price.

Principal Lawrence continued.

"Leon, with your current performance— if you continue to shine in the Heavenly- tier hunting ground— even Supreme Heaven University, the nation’s number one, would likely accept you through normal admission."

"If recruiters come to talk to you, remember: any of the top ten universities are solid choices. But if they’re outside the top ten— make sure to weigh the offer carefully."

Leon nodded.

"Understood, Principal Lawrence."

Evelyn glanced at him.

"So you’re really going to compare all of them?"

Leon looked at her.

"Of course, darling Evelyn."

Selena’s golden eyes curved slightly.

"You’re treating universities like merchants in a marketplace."

Leon laughed.

"If they want me badly enough, they can make their offers."

Evelyn smiled.

"That’s definitely something you’d say."

Principal Lawrence laughed awkwardly from the screen.

"Just remember, Leon, don’t let them pressure you."

"I won’t."

His placement match performance had drawn attention from every major university.

Through normal admissions, all top ten universities would likely accept him—but there would be no extra resources.

That was standard procedure.

But through early admission—universities would come to him with contracts.

He would be the one choosing.

The initiative would be in his hands.

Whoever offered the best deal among the top ten—that’s where Leon would go.

It was called "waiting for the right price."

Leon understood that perfectly.

He had no reason to rush.

Let the universities compete.

The more they wanted him, the higher the price would become.

Sure enough—no sooner had he hung up than someone knocked on his door.

Knock.

Knock.

Leon raised his eyes.

Evelyn looked toward the door.

Selena quietly stood.

Leon lifted a hand.

"I’ll handle it."

The door opened.

A young man with gold-rimmed glasses appeared at the entrance.

He looked polished and professional, carrying a thin contract case under one arm.

"Hello—are you Leon?"

"I’m a special recruiter from Supreme Heaven University. I’m here to discuss early admission with you."

"May we talk?"

"Please."

Leon gestured him inside.

The recruiter stepped into the room.

The rest area was spacious.

Selena and Evelyn were both stunningly beautiful—the recruiter did a double-take upon entering, then quickly put on a warm, friendly smile.

"You must be Miss Selena and Miss Evelyn, right?"

Selena inclined her head gracefully, her silver-white hair catching the light.

"Yes."

Evelyn gave a small nod, her green hair swaying slightly.

"Hello."

The recruiter’s eyes lingered on them a moment too long before he turned back to Leon.

"Leon, your performance today was exceptional. Supreme Heaven University is prepared to offer you an early admission contract. However—"

He paused, adjusting his glasses.

"We would like to offer the contract to Miss Selena separately. And Miss Evelyn as well, of course."

The atmosphere changed.

It was subtle.

But Selena noticed it immediately.

Evelyn’s smile disappeared.

Leon remained silent for a few seconds.

Then his eyes narrowed.

"What exactly are you saying?"

The recruiter smiled—an oily, practiced smile.

"What I’m saying is—we’re very interested in your beast-girls. They show immense potential."

"As for you..."

He gestured vaguely.

"D-rank aptitude. Supreme Heaven University has standards, you understand."

Selena’s golden eyes flashed with fury.

Her hand clenched into a fist.

The air around her seemed to become colder.

Evelyn’s purple eyes went wide—her face flushing with anger.

"You’re not seriously—"

Leon raised a hand, cutting her off.

Evelyn stopped.

She looked at him.

Leon wasn’t shouting.

That made his calm even more intimidating.

His expression remained calm—but a cold smile played at the corner of his lips.

"So you want my beast-girls—but not me?"

"Precisely."

The recruiter nodded, as if it were the most reasonable thing in the world.

"Supreme Heaven University is willing to offer Miss Selena a premium contract. With our resources, she could reach incredible heights. And you, Leon—you’d be compensated for the transfer."

The room became completely silent.

Selena looked toward Leon.

For a moment, her golden eyes carried a trace of worry.

Not because she believed Leon would accept.

She simply wanted to know what he would say.

Leon laughed.

It was a quiet laugh—but there was nothing warm about it.

He leaned back slightly.

Then he placed both hands on the table.

"Let me make something clear."

His purple eyes became cold.

"My beast-girls aren’t for sale."

The recruiter’s smile faltered.

"Now, Leon—think about it. This is Supreme Heaven University we’re talking about. The number one university in the nation. We’re offering—"

"I said no."

Leon’s voice was ice.

There was no hesitation.

No negotiation.

No room for misunderstanding.

The recruiter stared at him.

Leon leaned forward slightly.

"Did you misunderstand what I said?"

The recruiter remained silent.

Leon continued.

"You came here because you think my beast-girls are valuable."

His eyes moved briefly toward Selena and Evelyn.

Then back to the recruiter.

"You’re right."

"They are valuable."

"They’re powerful."

"They’re talented."

"And they’re worth far more to me than anything written on your contract."

Selena’s expression softened.

Leon stood.

His black oversized coat shifted around him as he faced the recruiter.

"But here’s the part you seem to have missed."

He pointed toward Selena.

"She’s my girl."

Then he pointed toward Evelyn.

"And she’s my woman."

Evelyn froze.

A faint blush spread across her cheeks.

Leon didn’t look away from the recruiter.

"I don’t trade my women."

"I don’t sell them."

"And I sure as hell don’t hand them over because some university thinks it can separate a beast-soul master from his own beast-girls."
