The University’s Big Gun

Leon didn’t look away from the recruiter.

"I don’t trade my women."

"I don’t sell them."

"And I sure as hell don’t hand them over because some university thinks it can separate a beast-soul master from his own beast-girls."

The recruiter’s face tightened.

Leon stepped closer.

His voice remained calm, but every word carried weight.

"They chose me."

"I chose them."

"We fight together."

"We grow together."

"And if a university can’t understand something that simple, then I have no reason to join it."

Selena slowly moved closer to Leon.

She placed a hand on his shoulder.

Her touch was gentle.

Her presence was warm.

It was a silent statement of loyalty.

Evelyn moved to his other side, chin raised defiantly.

The recruiter stared at the three of them.

United.

Unshakable.

For the first time since entering the room, his confident expression disappeared.

He understood that there was nothing left to negotiate.

"Fine."

He huffed, gathering his papers.

"Don’t say I didn’t warn you."

He walked out, slamming the door behind him.

Bang!

The room became quiet again.

Evelyn let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding.

"Leon—you turned down Supreme Heaven University?!"

Leon leaned back in his chair, arms crossed.

"Darling Evelyn—do you really think that’s what it was?"

He looked at her—at Selena—with warmth in his eyes.

"Those are my women. My beast-girls. And no one—not even the number one university—is going to take them from me."

Selena smiled, a soft pink blooming on her cheeks.

"My love..."

Evelyn blinked, a strange warmth spreading through her chest.

"Leon..."

Leon reached out—one hand taking Selena’s, the other taking Evelyn’s.

Their fingers intertwined with his.

Selena looked down at their joined hands.

Evelyn did the same.

For a moment, neither woman spoke.

The tension from the recruiter slowly faded.

Leon squeezed their hands gently.

"We stick together. All of us."

His voice was quiet now.

There was no dominance in it.

Only certainty.

Selena leaned slightly closer.

Evelyn smiled.

Whatever university offered them.

Whatever resources waited ahead.

Whatever enemies stood in their path.

They would face it together.

Leon looked toward the evening city outside the window.

The sky above Jade City had already darkened.

But the night was far from over.

He smiled.

"Now—let’s see what other universities have to offer. The night’s still young."

As the Supreme Heaven University recruiter left the room, five minutes passed.

Leon was finally able to sit back and rest.

The room had become quiet again.

Outside the window, the lights of Jade City glittered beneath the evening sky. The distant sounds of the examination venues drifted through the air, mixed with the occasional hum of flying vehicles and the soft rustling of trees.

Leon leaned against his chair.

His shoulder-length black hair rested loosely around his handsome face, while his purple eyes remained half-closed.

Selena sat nearby.

Her long white-silver hair flowed over her shoulders, and her fitted snow-white robe was wrapped neatly around her narrow waist and secured with a golden sash. The slit of her robe moved softly whenever she shifted her legs.

Evelyn sat on Leon’s other side.

Her long green hair fell down her back, while her fitted purple robe hugged her figure and was tied around her narrow waist with a green sash.

For the first time in what felt like hours, the three of them could breathe.

Evelyn stretched her arms.

"Darling, maybe the recruiters are finally done."

Leon opened one eye.

"Don’t say that."

Evelyn blinked.

"Why?"

Leon gave her a faint smile.

"Because someone will probably knock again."

Evelyn stared at him.

"You’re joking."

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

The three knocks echoed through the room.

Evelyn’s mouth slowly opened.

Selena covered her lips, hiding a small laugh.

Leon sighed.

"I told you."

Evelyn shook her head.

"I hate this universe."

Leon chuckled.

He looked toward the door.

"Who?"

A middle-aged man’s voice answered from outside.

"Mr. Leon, I come to talk about university recruitment."

Leon paused.

The voice was different from the previous recruiter.

Older.

Calmer.

More authoritative.

Another recruiter?

Leon rubbed his forehead.

"Okay. Come in."

The door opened.

A middle-aged man entered.

He had a slightly noble appearance and wore an expensive, perfectly fitted suit. His shoes were polished, his hair carefully arranged, and every movement carried the confidence of someone accustomed to being obeyed.

A polished smile rested on his face.

Evelyn clearly wasn’t interested.

She merely gave him a slight nod.

Selena glanced at the man who had just entered.

He was tall, sharp-featured, and carried himself with quiet authority.

Unlike the previous recruiter, there was no eagerness in his expression.

He didn’t need to prove his importance.

He already knew it.

The man smiled.

"Let me introduce myself. I am Director Shin of Supreme Heaven University’s admissions board."

He paused deliberately.

"One of the most powerful figures in the university’s hierarchy."

Selena’s golden eyes remained calm.

Leon studied him silently.

So they sent their big gun.

Shin stepped farther into the room.

His eyes moved across the furniture before settling on Leon.

There was no obvious contempt in them.

Only calculation.

He had clearly done his homework.

"I’ll be direct."

Shin clasped his hands behind his back.

"Supreme Heaven University is prepared to offer both Selena and Evelyn A-grade contracts. Full scholarships. Priority resource allocation. Direct access to our Star Core Training Program."

Evelyn’s eyebrows rose.

That was a serious offer.

Even she understood how valuable those resources were.

Shin allowed the silence to linger.

Then he looked at Leon.

"As for you, Leon—"
