Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Serve Well

Beneath her mask, Claire Kendall coldly raised an eyebrow.

Before the model could offer the glass to Miles Warren, Claire wrapped her arms around his neck. Her voice, sweet, cloying, and wronged, was like that of a seductive little vixen.

"Mr. Warren, didn’t you choose me to keep you company? Who is she?"

"I don’t like it when people try to compete with me. Make her leave~"

Claire Kendall straddled Miles Warren’s lap, pressing herself tightly against him, looking delicate and weak.

Miles Warren chuckled lowly. He raised a hand and gave Claire’s bottom a light pat. "Alright. I only want you."

Claire Kendall flinched. She could even feel his reaction, and her ears burned. She buried her face in the crook of his neck, wanting nothing more than to bite him.

’At a time like this, how could he still...’

’What happened to being the aloof and untouchable man of virtue?’

The model stood frozen, glass in hand, and glanced at the shareholder, Zane.

Zane’s brow furrowed. He jutted his chin, signaling for her to try again.

’This slutty-looking waitress seems like a social climber who’d be easy to control,’ he thought, ’but she’s not one of ours. I can’t trust her.’

The model sidled forward again, her neckline dipping lower as she swayed her hips.

"Mr. Warren, I know things she probably doesn’t. Don’t let a little waitress ruin your fun," the model said, reaching out to pull Claire away.

Miles Warren’s flirtatious, rakish expression instantly darkened. The model stiffened and quickly retracted her hand, not daring to touch the person in his arms.

Caden Monroe glanced at the model as if looking at a useless stray mutt.

The door to the private room was pushed open, and Vera Sloan walked in.

Claire caught sight of her from the corner of her eye. Her heart began to race, and a thin layer of sweat formed on her palms.

Vera Sloan walked over to Caden Monroe and leaned in to whisper a few words.

Miles Warren’s large hand squeezed the soft flesh of her waist. His words were pointed. "Trembling so hard. Scared now?"

Claire knew he was talking about how she had snuck into The Imperial without telling him.

"Don’t be afraid. Mr. Monroe won’t do anything to your parents. In fact, he’s going to give them a sum of money."

He nibbled her ear. "As a reward for keeping me company tonight."

Caden Monroe shot a sidelong glance at Miles Warren’s debauched act. He sneered internally but kept his expression neutral.

"Mr. Warren, don’t worry. I’ve already checked with the supervisor. She’s just a temp from the countryside, here to find work in the city."

"The money has been taken care of. If you like her, you can take her home and have your fun."

Vera Sloan chuckled. "Caden, how could he possibly take her home? The one Mr. Warren has at home is quite formidable."

Miles Warren nodded. "Mm, she can’t tolerate other women around me."

"This little vixen... I’d better keep her on the side for fun."

Claire reached out and secretly tried to pinch his waist, but it was too hard. All muscle. She couldn’t get a grip.

Zane stood up. "Mr. Warren, I was in the wrong this morning. This is my apology. Please don’t hold it against me."

The liquid in Zane’s glass swirled gently.

’Considering the conversation they had before Miles arrived, that drink is definitely not clean.’

Seemingly without a guard up, Miles Warren calmly took the glass from Zane. He swirled it but didn’t rush to drink.

"Mr. Zane, you’re being too serious."

Claire subtly shifted her position. With a light flick of her fingertip, she knocked the glass, and the drugged wine spilled silently onto the carpet.

Seizing a lull in the conversation, she smoothly picked up a fresh glass from the side and pressed it into the man’s hand.

Miles Warren looked down, his gaze fixed on the fox mask. A faint smile flickered in his eyes.

He raised the glass and drained it in one gulp.

"Mr. Warren is certainly a sport!" Zane and Caden Monroe exchanged a look.

Not even five minutes later, Miles Warren propped his head on his hand. His eyes, hazy and unfocused, swept the room. His lips moved. "Dizzy..."

Then he slumped directly onto the table.

Claire held him, pitching her voice higher as she called out, "Mr. Warren, wake up."

Zane sneered. "To think Louis Warren raised such a lust-addled fool. And he used to treasure him so much. It’s ridiculous."

"Now that The Warren Family has Felix Warren, this cripple Miles Warren is nothing. After tonight, his position at Warren Pharma won’t be his either. Acting all high and mighty in front of me, ptooey!"

Caden Monroe remained impassive, his fingers stroking the side of his glass.

Zane grew anxious. "Mr. Monroe, that funding for R&D Department Two... are you sure there won’t be any problems?"

Caden said coldly, "Even if there’s an investigation, it won’t trace back to us. What are you afraid of?"

Zane nodded, his cold eyes sweeping over Claire as he issued a condescending warning.

"Little girl, you serve this gentleman well tonight. You *must* sleep with him. Do you understand?"

"The media will be here in the morning. Cooperate, and I’ll give you another pile of cash. Don’t, and I’ll kill you."

Vera Sloan chuckled, her gaze lingering on Claire, roving up and down.

"Mr. Zane, don’t go scaring this little country girl."

"With that tiny frame, who knows if she can even handle Mr. Warren’s roughhousing tonight."

Nausea churned in Claire’s stomach. She feigned a naive and ignorant tone. "I understand. I’ll help Mr. Warren to the room to rest."

The three of them didn’t stop her. Caden Monroe had two bodyguards follow behind to watch them.

Claire hooked an arm under Miles Warren’s, half-carrying, half-dragging him out of the private room.

His body was practically crushing her, his hot breath fanning across the side of her neck.

Her heart hammered, caught in her throat.

When they reached the room at the end of the hall, a bodyguard shoved the door open.

"Get in!"

The lights flickered on, and the scene before her made Claire freeze.

On the large round bed, red petals were scattered across black silk sheets. On the nightstand sat various erotic toys.

Handcuffs, a blindfold, chains...

The glass-walled bathroom to the side was completely transparent, and the air was filled with a cloyingly sweet, scented aroma.

Behind her, the door swung shut.

CLICK—

With a crisp sound, it locked.

She and Miles Warren were locked inside.

Claire extinguished the red scented candle on the side; its smoke was chokingly strong and made her head spin.

She then helped Miles Warren to the bed. The man’s legs gave out, and the better part of his weight collapsed onto her.

Unable to support his weight, they both tumbled onto the large, black bed.

Crushed rose petals flew into the air. Claire scrambled to push herself up.

Miles Warren threw an arm out, wrapping it firmly around her slender waist. He drunkenly pulled her back, and she collided with his chest.

"Ngh, I feel awful..."

His voice was muffled and his breath was hot. He really seemed to be overwhelmed by his feigned drunkenness.

Claire gritted her teeth. "Alright, they’re gone. You can stop pretending."

The man didn’t move. He cracked his eyelids open a sliver. There wasn’t a hint of haze in his pupils, but his face still wore a drunken expression.

A smile played on his lips as he leaned close to her ear, his voice husky.

"Little waitress, aren’t you supposed to be serving me?"

Claire ignored him.

Miles Warren slowly pushed himself up from the bed, rolling over to a sitting position. He rubbed his temples while unbuttoning his shirt, muttering and groaning.

"Hot..."

Then, with a flick of his wrist, he tossed his shirt. It landed perfectly over the crystal lamp in the corner.

A miniature camera on it was now completely covered.
