The wind howled past Leon’s ears like a roaring freight train as he plummeted from the massive cliffside into the sprawling, multi-colored expanse of Sector 12.

He didn’t panic. With Storm-Strider active, the air itself bent to his will. He didn’t just fall; he surfed the atmospheric pressure, carving a massive, spiraling descent through the swirling magenta and teal auroras.

Below him, the Prismatic Expanse rapidly approached. From the cliff, the crystalline forest had looked like a field of glittering jewels. Up close, it was a terrifying labyrinth of razor-sharp, monolithic crystal trees towering hundreds of feet into the air. The ambient mana in Sector 12 was so dense it was practically a liquid, forming soft, glowing blue mists that drifted between the translucent trunks.

For an ordinary player, simply breathing this air would cause severe internal mana-burn. But Leon wasn’t ordinary.

Ding!

[Absolute Adaptation has activated!]

[Your body is passively adapting to extreme ambient mana density.]

His SSS-Rank Perfect Body worked in perfect synchronization with the adaptation. His lungs expanded, taking in the heavy, sweet air, instantly filtering the volatile magic and integrating it into his own system. In fact, because of his newly acquired Vanguard of Humanity Mythic title, his body was absorbing the ambient mana at a 100% increased rate. He felt like a battery being perpetually overcharged.

Leon angled his descent, compressing a pocket of wind beneath his boots to kill his momentum. He landed with a soft, silent crouch on the smooth, glassy surface of a massive blue crystal root.

He stayed perfectly still, letting his senses adjust to the new realm.

The silence here wasn’t empty; it hummed. A constant, low-frequency vibration resonated through the crystal forest, the sound of raw magic flowing through the earth.

Leon stood up, allowing the shadow-absorbing fabric of the Sovereign’s Mantle to drape over his shoulders. His SSS-Rank Origin Eyes flared to life, shifting his vision.

The forest lit up with terrifying clarity.

Sector 12 was a minefield. The crystals weren’t just trees; many of them were naturally occurring mana-traps. He could see faint, highly pressurized fault lines in the crystal structures that would violently detonate if stepped on incorrectly. But more importantly, he saw the heat signatures.

Moving silently through the glowing blue mist about two hundred yards away were three large, quadrupedal figures.

[Monster Detected: Prismatic Prowler (x3)]

[Level: 58]

[Type: Elemental Beast]

[Innate Talent: Light Refraction, Crystal Rend]

Level 58. Three levels above his current standing.

Leon drew Bloodfang Edge with a slow, deliberate motion. In Sector 4, he had rushed through the final hours of his 10X multiplier with reckless abandon, relying on overwhelming burst damage. But here, in a High-Tier Realm, recklessness was a death sentence. He needed to test his new baseline. He needed to feel the weight of his 140 Strength and 185 Intelligence.

He wanted a grounded, methodical hunt.

The Prismatic Prowlers were beautiful, terrifying creatures. They resembled massive jaguars, but their bodies were constructed entirely of segmented, shifting crystals that perfectly mirrored their surroundings. To the naked eye, they were completely invisible, merely a faint shimmer in the air.

But Origin Eyes saw their mana cores burning like miniature blue suns.

Leon didn’t use a ranged spell. He activated Wraith-Step.

He folded into the shadow plane, bypassing the physical distance. But this time, he didn’t immediately attack upon exiting. He reappeared behind a thick crystal trunk, thirty feet downwind from the pack.

The Prowlers stopped. Their crystalline ears twitched. They were Level 58; their senses were sharp enough to detect the micro-fluctuations in spatial magic caused by his teleportation.

The lead Prowler turned, its jagged, transparent maw opening to release a silent, high-frequency echolocation pulse.

"Let’s test the new toy," Leon whispered.

He didn’t raise his staff. He simply tapped into the Transcendent-Rank skill he had just acquired from the Origin Rune.

"Sovereign’s Eclipse."

Ding!

[Sovereign’s Eclipse activated.]

[50% Maximum MP consumed.]

A shockwave of absolute, pitch-black nothingness erupted from Leon’s body. It expanded at the speed of thought, forming a perfect, one-hundred-foot spherical dome that completely swallowed him, the three Prowlers, and a massive chunk of the crystal forest.

The effect was instantaneous and terrifying.

Inside the Eclipse, the vibrant, glowing light of Sector 12 was entirely erased. It was a void so absolute it felt like being buried alive. All ambient mana in the area was forcibly severed from the system.

The three Prowlers panicked. Their Light Refraction camouflage instantly failed, their bodies turning a dull, lifeless grey without ambient light to bend.

For Leon, the darkness was a blanket. His Origin Eyes pierced the void flawlessly, tracking the panicking beasts. But the true terror of the skill wasn’t just the blindness.

It was the cooldown nullification.

Leon triggered Wraith-Step.

Blink. He materialized directly above the lead Prowler.

Slash!Bloodfang Edge sheared through its crystalline spine. The Severance Effect bypassed its armor entirely, the true damage detonating its core.

Blink. He didn’t even wait for the body to hit the floor. He teleported instantly, appearing to the right of the second beast.

Slash!

Blink. He appeared under the third beast as it tried to leap away.

Slash!

In less than two seconds, Leon had executed three consecutive Platinum-Rank spatial teleports without a single millisecond of cooldown, landing three lethal strikes.

He snapped his fingers, and the Sovereign’s Eclipse shattered like dark glass, the vibrant light of the forest flooding back in.

The three Prismatic Prowlers hit the ground simultaneously, shattering into thousands of dull grey shards.

Ding!

Leon exhaled, sheathing his sword. Over three hundred thousand EXP for a minor skirmish. His SSS-Rank Infinite Growth ensured that his leveling curve, while steeper, would never artificially hard-cap or stagnate like normal classes in high-tier realms. The EXP bar moved with a satisfying, visible chunk.

Ding!

[Lucky Fate has activated!]

[Rare Drop Probability significantly increased.]

[Prismatic Prowlers have dropped: 14,000 High-Tier Eternal Coins, 3 Prowler Cores, 1 Shimmer-Silk Cloak Blueprint.]

[Talent Devourer: Residual Talent Energy Detected: "Light Refraction" (Fragments Available: 12)]

[Talent Devourer: Residual Talent Energy Detected: "Crystal Rend" (Fragments Available: 9)]

Leon looked at the glowing motes of energy rising from the shattered crystal bodies. Twelve fragments of Light Refraction.

"Consume the twelve fragments," Leon commanded. "Fuse them into the Sovereign’s Mantle."

Ding!

[12 Fragments of "Light Refraction" fused into Artifact: The Sovereign’s Mantle.]

[Artifact Evolved!]

[Description Updated: The mantle now actively bends ambient light around the user. When stationary or moving at walking speed, the user becomes optically invisible, leaving only a faint heat mirage. This effect stacks with the artifact’s innate shadow-absorbing properties.]

Leon pulled the hood up. He looked down at his own hands. They were gone. He was completely, seamlessly blended into the crystalline background of the forest.

"Incredible," Leon breathed.

He spent the next four hours pushing deeper into the Prismatic Expanse, methodically testing his limits.

The environment was brutal, but his SSS-Rank talents trivialized the hazards. When he accidentally triggered a highly pressurized crystal fault line, a massive explosion of jagged shrapnel tore through the clearing. Obsidian Carapace deflected the worst of it, and Perfect Body instantly healed the minor lacerations before the blood could even bead on his skin.

His mana pool, halved by the initial cast of Sovereign’s Eclipse, regenerated to full in minutes thanks to Eternal Mana. He was a perpetual engine of destruction.

He hunted packs of Crystalline Gorgers (Level 56), giant, heavily armored beetles that tried to consume the mana rivers. He practiced his evolved Hellfire Howl on them, breathing a massive cone of superheated, toxic ash that melted their impenetrable shells into slag.

Every battle was precise. He analyzed movement patterns with his Supreme Comprehension, realizing that monsters in Sector 12 possessed complex, martial-art-like fighting styles, unlike the feral beasts of Sector 4. They feinted, they flanked, and they used the environment. But Leon learned faster. If a beast tried a specific flanking maneuver once, Leon’s brain mapped the kinematic trajectory, ensuring he would never fall for it a second time.

By the fifth hour of his trek, the dense crystal forest began to thin, opening up into a sprawling valley bisected by a massive, raging river of pure, liquid blue mana.

As Leon stepped out of the tree line, the sky above him darkened.

Not from clouds. From a shadow.

Leon looked up, his Origin Eyes piercing the bright auroras.

Circling high above the valley, its massive sapphire scales glittering in the light, was the apex predator he had seen from the Boundary Gate cliff.

[Monster Detected: Aether-Coatl]

[Level: 62]
