Chapter 428: Chapter 138: Just the Beautiful Mentor’s Mission (Part 1)

He even dared to casually converse with Demigod-level beings and send nobles from the Imperial Capital to the mines for labor reform.

To him now, the scheming and petty squabbles of the academy seemed like nothing more than children playing house. He simply couldn’t get interested.

But his composure and detached air only made his fellow students admire and worship him all the more.

"Is that Senior Lynch? So handsome..."

"I heard he’s practically a lord in his own right on the border, yet he still remembers us old classmates..."

"What is class? *This* is class! Look at that bunch from the Imperial Capital Academy. Haven’t seen them achieve much, but every one of them walks around with their noses in the air. Now look at Senior Lynch..."

As the crowd murmured amongst themselves, the battle on the field entered its final stages.

With a "Spear of Holy Light Judgment," Avril sent Lucas flying. He landed miserably on the red carpet and rolled several times before stopping, his pristine white uniform covered in dust.

"Thank you for the match," Avril said, retracting her scepter with a slight bow.

Lucas’s face was ashen, but he had no choice but to lower his head. "I... I apologize. Allen, I’m sorry."

As soon as these words were spoken, the Hurst Academy side immediately erupted in cheers.

Lynch, however, merely smiled, as if he had expected this all along.

It was no joke. Although Avril’s combat power was considered the lowest among her companions, she was still someone who had spent over two years in the war-torn borderlands, a true warrior who had experienced life-and-death battles.

It was just that as a Holy Priest, she more often took on the role of healing and support and rarely charged into the fray herself.

But even so, she was no match for these pampered students from their ivory tower.

Forget that their tiers were similar; even if Avril were half a tier lower, she would absolutely win thanks to the combat instincts she’d honed amid mountains of corpses and seas of blood.

Seeing Lucas retreat in disgrace, a wave of suppressed whispers immediately broke out in the Imperial Capital Academy camp.

"Trash."

Karl von Hohenlohe shot Lucas a cold glance, the way one might look at a cockroach.

Lucas’s face instantly flushed beet-red, but he didn’t dare to retort. He could only lower his head and retreat to the back of the crowd.

"Since Hurst Academy’s Priest is so impressive..." The corner of Carl’s mouth curled into a mocking smile. He casually pointed to a burly Warrior beside him. "You go. Show that ’Silver Radiance Angel’ what a real battle is."

The one chosen was a Tier Two Middle Stage Berserker, his body bulging with knotted muscle. He wielded a massive two-handed war axe.

Hearing this, he strode forward with a savage grin. "Little girl, that was quite a show you put on. Come on, let me teach you that a Priest’s place is in the back, healing. Don’t come out here and make a fool of yourself!"

"Your opponent is me."

Just then, a cold voice rang out, and Ophelia stepped out from the crowd.

Today, she wore tight leather armor. At her hip hung "Rock-Slasher," the giant sword that had seen her through countless battles. Her chestnut hair was pulled into a high ponytail, revealing a delicate but stern face.

"Oh, another one looking to die..." Before the Berserker could finish his sentence, Ophelia had already moved.

There was no brilliant aura, no flashy moves. She simply drew her sword, stepped forward, and slashed!

BOOM—!

An oppressive, suffocating aura of bloodlust instantly erupted, enveloping the entire area as if it were tangible.

That was the kind of killing intent forged only by personally slaying hundreds of enemies on the battlefield.

The Berserker’s vision blurred. He thought he saw a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, heard the wails of departed souls, and the war axe in his hands involuntarily slowed by a fraction.

At the same time, Ophelia had already seized the opportunity, closing the distance between them with a quick charge.

She raised her giant sword with her momentum and brought it down on the Berserker in a cleaving arc.

The Berserker’s eyes hardened. He only had time to swing his war axe up to block his chest before the giant sword smashed down on the axe itself.

CLANG!

The giant sword and war axe collided, instantly creating a deafening shriek of metal on metal.

The Berserker felt a tremendous force travel up his war axe, numbing his arms and sending him stumbling back three steps uncontrollably.

Ophelia, however, didn’t pause for a moment.

With a flicker, she was on him, relentless as a shadow. Her giant sword swept out in a vicious horizontal slash!

SHRRK—!

The edge of the blade grazed the Berserker’s chest, leaving a deep gash in his thick leather armor.

In the blink of an eye, blood stained the front of his tunic red.

"I... I surrender!"

Terrified out of his wits, the Berserker collapsed onto his rear, his face drained of all color.

The entire field fell silent.

The students of Hurst Academy were stunned for a moment, then erupted in cheers even more fervent than before!

"Ophelia, Ophelia!"

"She’s so strong! Is that what you expect from a captain of an elite hundred-man unit in the Dawn Battle Group?"

"So much for the elites from the Imperial Capital Academy! They’re just trash in front of us!"

On the Imperial Capital Academy’s side, the atmosphere instantly dropped to freezing.

Those students who had been so arrogant before now looked at Ophelia with eyes full of fear.

This was no student; this was a goddess of slaughter, forged on a hellish battlefield.

In the Silver Moon Academy camp, the Half-Beastman Warrior’s eyes suddenly lit up. He licked his lips excitedly and tightened his grip on the giant axe on his back. "Interesting... I wanna give it a try..."
