Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Looking for Trouble

Her gaze swept across the surrounding warehouses. When she realized that four or five of them had their doors wide open and were already completely empty inside, the jealousy and indignation in her heart instantly spiked to their peak.

She took a sudden step forward, pointing at Luna Dawson. "Luna, I can’t believe you guys took so many supplies!" she demanded sharply.

As she spoke, she deliberately turned her head to look at Jasper Payne beside her. Her eyes were full of silent accusation, acting as if Luna and her group monopolizing the supplies was some unforgivable, heinous crime.

Luna couldn’t even be bothered to spare her a glance. Feeling immensely irritated, she directed her gaze straight at Jasper. The coldness in her eyes was almost palpable, blatantly conveying a silent warning to ask if they had a death wish.

Jasper’s expression instantly turned ugly. In his eyes, someone else grabbing supplies a step ahead of them was no big deal. At worst, they could just wait for Luna’s group to leave and then loot the other warehouses themselves. But Shay Kramer just had to stir up trouble at a time like this. He looked up, sizing up Luna’s well-equipped, composed team, and cursed inwardly.

He forced a stiff smile and stepped forward to smooth things over. "I’m sorry, Shay is just losing her temper on impulse. Please don’t take it to heart."

Standing next to Henry Hayes, Eliza Hale knitted her brows tightly. She wondered if this woman would physically suffer if she didn’t pick a fight for a single day.

Henry, Jackson Carter, and Kurt Spencer exchanged a glance, seeing the shared helplessness in each other’s eyes, before silently turning their attention to Jasper. Since he was the captain here, everyone naturally deferred to his decision.

Seeing that Jasper was at least sensible enough, Luna couldn’t be bothered to entangle herself with this group any longer. She gave a slight nod and turned to walk toward the light steel villa. She truly had no patience left to waste on these weirdos every day.

"Brother Rick! How can you just let this go? That was several warehouses’ worth of supplies! All empty!"

Seeing that Jasper not only refused to help her but actively backed down, Shay immediately grew frantic. She raised her voice and howled like a madwoman. But Jasper acted as if he didn’t hear her cries. His feet remained firmly planted, and he didn’t even flick his gaze in her direction. It was obvious he was dead set against provoking Luna’s squad.

"Are you sick in the head?!" Miles Dawson, annoyed by her wailing, turned his head and shot back. "Which eye of yours saw us take those supplies?!"

"Your group is the only one in the entire industrial park. If you didn’t take them, who else could it be?" Jesse Payne chimed in from the side. His tone carried a sense of entitled astonishment, as if Luna’s group had taken advantage of them in some massive way.

"Whether we took them or not is none of your damn business."

Kevin Keane knitted his brows into a deep frown as his icy voice rang out. The moment he spoke, a bone-chilling killing intent instantly erupted from his body, enveloping Jesse and the others.

Catching Kevin’s killing intent the second it surfaced, Jasper felt his heart lurch. Terrified, he quickly waved his hands. "There’s no need to argue over such a trivial matter! At worst, we’ll just open other warehouses to get supplies!"

He rejoiced inwardly, glad he hadn’t played along with Shay’s nonsense just now. He had only let Shay use him as a pawn before because he didn’t know the true depth of Luna’s squad. Now, inside this Containment Zone, seeing how easily the other party slaughtered so many zombies, their strength was definitely far superior to his own team’s. Provoking such a formidable group at a time like this was practically courting death!

Looking at Luna’s indifferent expression and then at Jasper’s cowardly demeanor, Shay’s face filled with resentment. She glared dead at Luna’s direction, her eyes practically spewing fire. She wondered, "Why? Why does this woman get to be protected by so many people and easily secure so many supplies?"

In contrast, Yolanda Kramer stood calmly beside Jasper the entire time. She thoroughly agreed with his decision and paid absolutely no heed to her sister’s bitter resentment and indignation.

"Brother Rick! How could you..."

Shay wanted to argue further, but before she could finish, a violent CLANG suddenly echoed from the direction of the main gate.

Everyone looked toward the sound, only to see a truck ramming straight into the industrial park’s metal gates! The massive impact made the gates shudder violently, the iron chains emitting an ear-piercing screech of friction, but they held firm.

Seeing this, the driver actually reversed the truck, then accelerated to ram it again. He repeated this process, crashing into the gates several times in a row!

In the driver’s seat, Lance Miller, along with Yara Sawyer in the passenger seat, wore dark expressions. They stared maliciously at the two groups inside the park. After finally battering the gates open, the truck didn’t pause for a second, charging at full speed directly toward the crowd!

Outside Warehouse No. 1, everyone’s expressions drastically changed as they scrambled to dodge out of the way. Failing to hit anyone, the truck slammed straight into the adjacent wall. A deafening BANG erupted as the front of the vehicle instantly twisted and deformed, immediately followed by billowing plumes of black smoke.

"Kill all the men! Leave the women!"

Lance kicked his door open and jumped down. Seeing that there was an extra group of people in the park, he was taken aback for a moment before a wildly arrogant laugh broke out on his face. He pointed at Luna and her group, shouting aggressively. His greedy gaze swept back and forth over Luna, Rhonda Dawson, and the other women, not hiding his malicious intent in the slightest.

Yara followed closely, jumping out of the truck. Raising her hands, she instantly conjured thick clouds of white smoke, sending them sweeping over to engulf Kevin, Evan Olson, and the others.

Luna’s squad reacted with lightning speed. Exchanging a quick glance, they immediately pulled up their face masks and held their breath. Evan and Kevin instantly stepped forward, shielding Luna, Rhonda, and Nancy Sullivan behind them while staring vigilantly at Lance and Yara.

Seeing their actions, Lance couldn’t help but sneer, his eyes filled with contempt. It was nothing but a wasted effort—unless they could hold their breath forever! In this apocalypse, women were just meant to lie back, spread their legs, and wait for men to play with them. So what if they were Superpower Users? Even with Yara’s incredibly special superpower, didn’t she still have to kneel in front of him to service him? These chicks were so damn gorgeous; it would definitely be a thrilling time for his brothers to share them!

The moment Lance jumped out of the truck, Logan Wright and a few others ran down from the pickup behind him. Wielding machetes, they stared lecherously at Rhonda. She was so fucking beautiful. Were all the women they played with before just trash in comparison?

"Brother Miller! Leave the women with some consciousness! It’s only fun when they fight back!" Logan’s wicked gaze seemed to pierce right through Rhonda’s winter coat, sticking to her like glue.

Another shifty-eyed man was just about to speak when Lynn Shelby, who was closest, slit his throat in a single strike. His head instantly rolled off, yet his body remained standing stiffly in place as a meter-high geyser of blood erupted from his neck!

Seeing the two groups clash, Jasper was startled and quickly led his teammates to hide off to the side. Meanwhile, the corners of Shay’s mouth curled up frantically, her eyes filled with the thrill of watching a good show.

"Ah! My hand!"

The miserable screams erupted almost simultaneously. Drawing the machete from his waist backhandedly, a cold glint flashed as Miles neatly severed the wrist Lance had pointed at Rhonda.

Lance only felt a sudden chill on his arm. Before he could even react, his severed hand hit the ground, blood gushing out wildly. Staring at his bleeding stump, his pig-like squeals pierced the eardrums. With a contorted face, he turned his head and roared, "Yara Sawyer!"

All of this happened in a mere three seconds!
