The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1313 - 1253: Confront or Hide
Sienna Johnson detailed her plan, but Adrian Desmond started laughing, leaving Sienna confused as she asked, "Why are you laughing?"
"I just suddenly thought of a saying: ’The most vicious is a woman’s heart!’"
Sienna kicked him, accidentally using her injured leg, resulting in Adrian being unscathed while she was in pain. She clutched her leg, her face turning pale with agony.
"Are you okay? I told you not to move around."
Adrian noticed her leg bleeding again and said, "There are lots of flowers and plants on the island; aren’t you a medical student? Let’s look around later and see if there are herbs useful for your wound."
"The most vicious is a woman’s heart? You’re saying I’m the most vicious? Should I treat Night Owl with kindness instead of harshness?"
If she dared to treat Night Owl gently, Adrian would show no mercy toward her again.
Adrian pulled her closer, placing her on his lap, soothing this sensitive woman, "What did I say to make you angry?"
"You said ’The most vicious is a woman’s heart!’ "
"I’m not a good guy either; we’re a good match," Adrian chuckled jovially.
"Pfft... You’re the one who’s not a good guy!"
"Yes, I’m not a good guy; you’re the good thing!"
The noise above became clearer, as if they were right above their heads. Sienna dared not speak recklessly, fearing being discovered, and didn’t allow Adrian to speak either.
Watching her nervous demeanor, Adrian found it amusing, so he allowed his hands to wander over her body unnoticed as her focus remained above.
"Don’t be scared; he won’t find this place," he assured.
"All the treasures here have been looted, and you’re saying no one can find this place?" Sienna countered.
"Do you really think these gold and jewels were stolen by someone?"
"Then why are they gone?"
"I took them away."
Sienna looked at Adrian, feeling somewhat guilty, "Weren’t they stolen by those treasure hunters?"
Adrian pinched the soft flesh on her waist, recalling the good deeds she’d done in the past, growing angry at her, "You cunning woman..."
"There were quite a few people seeking treasure then, weren’t there?"
"I don’t trust banks, so I stored my assets on many hidden islands; this was just one of them. Back then, several groups came, but no one found their way here."
The banks in Abyanabad aren’t as stable as Orienta’s; it’s possible one might collapse any day, and if a bank collapses, depositors’ money would go down the drain.
"If that’s the case, why did you move all the treasures from here?"
"I said this was just my safe. Even though they couldn’t find the place, I accessed it frequently enough that it might get discovered, so I had Tatu move it."
Sienna recalled Adrian transferring the gold and treasures back then and laughed, "You must’ve been livid back then?"
"Yes, I found you at the time and thought I’d kill you then."
"Then why didn’t you kill me?"
Sienna hoped to hear some sweet words like ’I couldn’t bear to,’ but Adrian answered differently, "In bed, didn’t I often make you feel worse than dead?"
Sienna blushed, her beautiful eyes filled with playful anger as she turned to him, and Adrian gazed at her, feelings quietly brewing.
"Don’t look at me like that; I fear I won’t be able to resist. You don’t realize how enticing you are."
Adrian started flirting with her again, leaving Sienna speechless, "Stop fooling around; Night Owl is still above."
Adrian glanced upwards, smiling faintly, though the smile didn’t reach his eyes.
This time, Adrian was determined not to leave Night Owl any escape route!
...
From a distance, this island seemed small, but upon setting foot on it, it turned out not small at all.
Three mountains stood on the island, with lush trees growing on them. As one entered, the trees obscured the sky above, making the surrounding light dim.
Night Owl now had about twenty people left, and searching every corner of this small island would take quite a bit of time.
They searched all morning but failed to find Sienna.
Li couldn’t help but say, "Master, there’s no sign of anyone living on this island. Madam may never have come here."
Li actually meant that Sienna likely died at sea long ago.
In such a violent storm, how could a fragile woman possibly survive?
But Li dared not say such things.
Night Owl genuinely had feelings for Sienna; the cold-blooded Night Owl, who never blinked at killing, when had he shown such concern for a single life?
"Keep searching!" Night Owl ordered.
He walked alone ahead, like a hunter searching for prey, not letting any place slip by.
"Li, why didn’t you tell Master that woman has clearly died?"
Li replied irritably, "If you’re not afraid to die, go say it."
...
The fruits were tasty but not filling; after adequate rest, Sienna felt hungry, the more fruits she ate, the hungrier she felt.
Adrian felt helpless too; he hadn’t anticipated ending up on this island with Sienna, hence hadn’t arranged for supplies in advance.
"I’ll go up to find some food; you stay here and don’t come out," Adrian said.
"No way!"
Sienna knew it was just Adrian alone; Marion and the others hadn’t come along, nor were they aware Adrian and she had come to this island.
Therefore, Sienna was adamant about not letting Adrian take the risk.
"Let’s wait; perhaps they’ll leave soon," Sienna said, clinging to that chance.
There were two fruits left; Sienna gave one to Adrian and delightedly ate another herself, "I can endure."
"..."
"The fruits are delicious; I really like them."
"I’ll be careful. Just promise me, don’t leave," Adrian returned the fruit to Sienna.
"No way!" Sienna would rather endure hunger than let Adrian take a risk.
Adrian had never imagined Night Owl would find this island, so when he brought Sienna to this place where he hid money, he hadn’t prepared food to bring down.
"What if Night Owl never leaves?"
"Night Owl mentioned he was heading to Kalare; how could he possibly stay here indefinitely?"
Adrian and Sienna analyzed, "Night Owl wants to go to Kalare to evade capture; don’t you think this island is a good temporary refuge for him?"
Sienna never thought about that.
If Night Owl decides to stay, they’ll indeed face trouble.
"Night Owl has at least twenty people with him, and each one is quite skilled; you alone might struggle to handle so many... especially with me being dead weight."
Adrian added, "If they won’t leave, we’ll just take them out here."
"Do you have confidence in that?"
"Not much confidence. I’m concerned if I make a move, Night Owl might notice and vanish without a trace. So, if I act, I must ensure Night Owl’s demise."
