The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1343 - 1283: Curly Cried
In Orienta, primary schools get out around three or four o’clock.
Sienna Johnson waited outside the school gate early, eager to see her daughter as soon as possible. Sienna had heard from Kiki that after the Night Owl kidnapped her, Curly blamed herself and had stopped smiling.
"Madam, please wait in the car, it’s cold outside." Sally advised.
Winters in Sileria City are very cold, especially on overcast days without sunshine; the temperature now must be around minus three or four degrees Celsius.
"I’m wearing enough, I’m fine." Sienna was dressed in a long white down jacket, her hands tucked into her pockets, keeping warm.
After the Night Owl died, Sienna’s bodyguards retreated, and she only had Sally, who knew Martial Arts, with her when she went out.
The weather was bad today; the sky was gloomy, though it was only three o’clock, it felt like five or six.
"Why aren’t they out yet?" Sienna asked.
"Sometimes they need to clean, so it takes a bit longer to get out."
Curly still didn’t attend the Elite School but chose Public School instead. Adrian Desmond spoiled Curly a bit too much, and Sienna was worried she’d turn into a spoiled little princess if she went to the Elite School.
Curly’s school is the Primary School affiliated with Sileria University, known for its good faculty, and it’s close to the Johnson Family residence.
"That girl, does she really clean?"
Sally replied, "Curly can do so many things now; she can wash socks, wash small handkerchiefs, but... her cooking skills are lacking."
"She can cook now?" Sienna asked in surprise.
"The school has labor classes where the teacher also teaches them to make simple snacks... However, Curly doesn’t seem to have a talent for this." Sally said tactfully.
Sienna finally saw Curly.
She was wearing a black down jacket with a red pom-pom hat, clutching the straps of her backpack, walking out with her head down, George following behind.
Sienna walked toward them, but the little girl kept her head down and didn’t see her.
As she walked, seeing someone blocking her path, she tried to step around Sienna and keep moving forward.
Curly moved to the right, and Sienna shifted to the right, blocking her way, Curly looked up at the person blocking her, stupefied.
"Curly, Mommy’s back." Sienna smiled and said to her daughter.
"Mother-in-law?" George was equally shocked, and the two kids just stared at her.
Sienna picked up her daughter, realizing she felt much lighter. Sienna asked, "Have you not been eating well lately, why are you so light?"
"Mommy?" Curly looked uncertainly at the mother in front of her, unsure if she was dreaming or if it was real.
"Curly, it’s Mommy. Surely, you won’t forget Mommy just because she’s been away for a while?"
"Mommy!" Curly hugged her mother’s neck and started bawling, attracting odd gazes from the parents picking up their kids.
A few days ago, there was a crazy woman incident abducting children near the school, so everyone’s eyes on Sienna were filled with suspicion.
George quickly explained to everyone, "Please don’t misunderstand, my mother-in-law is not a kidnapper..."
"Mommy, Mommy... sobs..."
Curly cried loudly, holding Sienna’s neck tightly that she almost couldn’t breathe.
"Curly, why are you crying? Mommy is back."
"..."
"Sweetie, stop crying, look at all the people watching us."
Curly couldn’t stop her tears, the droplets ran down into Sienna’s neck, "Curly, what’s wrong?"
Sally drove the car over, opened the car door, and said to Sienna, "Madam, it’s cold outside, please get in the car first."
Sienna hugged Curly and got into the car, George followed suit.
George handed tissues to Curly to wipe her tears, comforting her, "Mother-in-law is back, don’t cry anymore."
Curly sat on her mother’s lap, still sobbing, but finally managed to stop her tears, "Mommy, I thought you would never come back..."
"Silly girl, you are here with your brother and sister, how could I not come back."
Curly pouted, about to cry again, Sienna kissed her and said, "No more crying, your eyes are going to swell."
"Mommy, it’s all Curly’s fault, if Curly hadn’t insisted on going to the camp, Mommy wouldn’t have been kidnapped." Saying this, she started crying again.
Sienna frowned, "Why would you think that way?"
"Because that’s how it is..."
"..."
"Luckily you came back, if you didn’t... how could I face Daddy, how could I face my siblings? Mommy, I will never go to camp again." Curly said, blaming herself.
Sienna hadn’t expected her daughter to think like this, she wiped Curly’s tears, held her face, and said seriously,
"Curly, why would you think that way? Bad people kidnapped Mommy, that has nothing to do with Curly. Even if Mommy hadn’t gone to camp with Curly, the bad people would have found another opportunity to kidnap Mommy..."
Curly choked and asked, "Did the police catch the bad man?"
"Yes, the bad man was caught by the police uncle, that’s why Mommy is back." Sienna patted her curly hair.
"Then the bad guy won’t be able to kidnap Mommy again, right?"
"The bad guy will be in prison for life, he won’t have the opportunity to come out, so he won’t be able to kidnap Mommy again."
Curly sighed in relief, "That’s good."
Curly’s hair clip was crooked, Sienna fixed it and said, "Daddy is in Abyanabad now, when Daddy comes back, we’ll ask him to take us camping in the mountains."
"I don’t want to go." Curly said softly.
"Why?"
"Too many bad people, let’s just stay home instead." Curly looked up at her mother and said, "Mommy, you cannot be kidnapped again."
Sienna chuckled, "I’ve told you, I won’t be. The bad guy has been caught by the police."
"But what if there are other bad guys?"
"Daddy will protect us."
Curly shook her head, "Daddy is useless; he let the bad guy take you."
"How can you say that about your daddy? Your daddy is very capable, thanks to Daddy, Mommy was able to come back."
"..."
Sienna pinched her little nose and said, "When your daddy comes back, you mustn’t talk like that about him, okay?"
"When will Daddy come back?"
Mommy’s gone, and Daddy hasn’t come home.
"It’ll be a while longer. Do you miss Daddy, Curly?"
Curly hugged her mother tightly, clingy as ever, "I do! I miss Mommy, and I miss Daddy too."
"I miss you all too."
...
When Sally drove back to the Johnson Family residence, Curly had finally recovered and was chatting and laughing with Sienna.
Suddenly, Sally braked to a stop, Sienna looked over and asked, "What’s wrong Sally, why won’t you drive in?"
