The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1434 - 1374: You’re the Best Dad in the World
"Then go and ask." Adrian Desmond said nonchalantly.
Sienna Johnson glared at him fiercely and said, "Have you ever seen anyone so eager to find themselves a stepdad?"
"Haha..."
"I’m so annoyed, and you’re still laughing?" After saying that, Sienna couldn’t help but laugh along.
What a situation this is, her biological mom, at such an age, has actually caught someone’s interest.
"If you don’t want a stepdad, why not just refuse?"
Adrian knew about the relationship between Sienna and Dexter Johnson, and deep down, Sienna absolutely did not want Pauline Briggs to remarry.
"It’s not that simple."
"It’s a one-sentence thing; you’ve made it complicated."
"Adrian, you don’t understand Orientals."
"I’m also of Oriental descent."
"But, underneath, you’ve already transformed; you’re from Abyanabad now."
Adrian’s grandfather’s generation immigrated from China, Adrian’s father was born in Abyanabad, and by Adrian’s generation, he was truly an Abyanabadian.
"I can speak Mandarin, and I can write Chinese characters."
"I don’t want to discuss this with you. I have a headache just thinking about how to handle this.
You don’t know, Oriental interpersonal relationships are very sensitive, and if not handled well, they can cause a lot of trouble."
Sienna had just been elected President and didn’t understand many things, and Graham Robertson was teaching her hands-on. Graham only asked once and didn’t ask again, but every time looked at her expectantly, making Sienna feel very guilty.
"Sigh..."
"Stop sighing."
"Adrian, I’m worried."
"How about I go ask for you?" Adrian couldn’t bear to see her so troubled and wanted to help solve it.
Sienna studied him and said, "If you’re not afraid of death, go ahead. I bet my mom will beat you up."
"Yeah, she definitely would."
Talking about his mother-in-law, Adrian had a headache.
Pauline Briggs had always been a gentle woman, always kind and soft-spoken to everyone, except to him, where everything seemed displeasing.
"So what do we do?"
"Actually, I don’t want my mom to remarry at all." Sienna said slowly.
Dexter Johnson and Pauline Briggs were like a real-life fairy tale, and Sienna wanted this fairy tale to continue. Sienna also thought her father was the most perfect man in the world.
"Who?" Adrian suddenly shouted.
The door opened, revealing a little head, "Dad, Mom..." Curly grinned but didn’t come in.
Sienna looked at her tenderly, "Are you looking for Dad or Mom?"
"I’m looking for Dad."
Curly stood there, looking at Adrian, "Dad, can you step out for a moment? I have something to tell you."
Sienna and Adrian exchanged glances, unsure of what kind of mischief their daughter was up to now.
"Did you get into trouble again?" Sienna asked.
Curly waved her hands repeatedly, "No, no, no."
"If you didn’t get into trouble, why can’t you tell me?" Sienna asked.
"Mom, don’t ask, it’s a secret between me and Dad. Can’t you give us a little privacy?"
Sienna: ...
"Dad, come on out." Curly kept beckoning to Adrian.
Sienna felt a bit hurt after all, daughters are closest to their dads; what’s the point of raising her all this time?
"I’ll go out for a bit and be right back." Adrian got up and went out. Seeing that their daughter wouldn’t speak in front of Sienna, he thought she might be in trouble again, so he picked her up and went out.
When they had walked far enough that Sienna couldn’t hear, Adrian finally asked, "Alright, what’s up?"
"Dad, I want to shoot a commercial."
Adrian: ...
"Dad, can you let me?"
"You want to make money again?"
Curly said with a big smile, "I’m so pretty, it’d be a waste not to, right Dad?"
"Go ask your mom, if she agrees, then so do I."
Adrian didn’t want his wife to be in the limelight, nor his daughter, but they both kept him on his toes.
"Mom definitely won’t agree."
"Oh, then you can’t go."
"Dad..." Curly pouted.
"In our house, your mom’s word is law. If she doesn’t agree, there’s nothing I can do."
Curly hugged Adrian’s neck and began to play the pity card, "Dad, how can you be so cruel to me? Are you really my biological dad? If you were, you wouldn’t treat me this way..."
"..."
"Dad... boohoo..." Curly pretended to cry, "How can your heart be so cruel, it makes me so sad."
"Alright, alright, I’m not dead yet, stop crying..."
Curly immediately stopped, changing her expression quickly, "Dad, so you agree."
"How much does the commercial pay?"
"3 thousand!"
"I’ll give you that."
Curly shook her head, looking serious, "I don’t want to live off my parents, I want to earn money myself! When I grow up, I can save a lot of money, start my own company, and become the richest person in the world."
Neither Adrian nor Sienna understood why Curly was so obsessed with money.
"You’re already a very rich person now."
"Does anyone ever feel like they have too much money?"
Adrian sighed, "Your mom probably won’t agree to this. I can’t decide this, and if she finds out, we’re in for it."
Adrian didn’t dare upset Sienna. When Sienna got angry, she wouldn’t argue but would give him the cold shoulder, which he couldn’t handle.
"Let’s do it secretly."
"No way!"
"Dad..." Curly began to pout again, "Good Daddy, you’re the best dad in the world, I know you are..." Curly kissed his neck, leaving Adrian’s face covered in wet kisses.
"Stop kissing, I’m a married man."
"Hehe, so Dad, you agree?" Curly said with a smile.
"This must never get back to your mom!"
Curly and Adrian high-fived each other, "Mm-hmm, mom will never know. A secret, it’s our secret."
...
Adrian returned to the room, Sienna was reading a book, and Adrian stood at the door for a moment as he saw Sienna’s gaze fix on him, with a hint of interrogation.
Sienna withdrew her gaze and said slowly, "What did Curly want with you?"
"Oh, she got into a fight with a classmate at school."
Sienna’s eyes fell on Adrian’s ears, which twitched slightly; he was lying.
Whenever Adrian lied, his ears would move involuntarily, a secret even Adrian himself didn’t know.
"Really?"
"Yes." Adrian came in and sat next to Sienna, "What are you reading?" Adrian changed the topic.
"How to tell if a man is lying."
Adrian: ...
