Chapter 99: Chapter 100 : Drunk

"Well, class is over. You can let me go now," Mark said, already walking away.

Now that the danger had passed, Nobara finally had time to process everything. She stared at him for a moment. "How the hell are you so powerful?"

"Did I forget to mention I’m about as strong as a special grade?" Mark replied casually.

"No, you didn’t," Nobara said flatly.

Yuji caught up, still confused. "Teach, why’d you ask us to hold onto you?"

Mark glanced back. "If I hadn’t, you three would’ve been caught under the domain’s influence. That much exposure could’ve messed with your minds pretty badly — holding onto me kept you clear of it."

Yuji nodded slowly. "Oh."

Mark bent down and picked up the shriveled finger. "Now that the mess is dealt with, let’s go."

He turned and started back toward the entrance, the finger still in his hand.

Yuji jogged up beside him, reaching out. "Good job, teach—"

A mouth appeared in the palm of his hand.

Before either of them could react, it snapped open and swallowed the finger straight out of Mark’s grip.

Mark froze. Yuji froze.

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

Mark’s eyes went wide. "Yuji."

Yuji stared at the mouth on his own palm. "I didn’t do that!"

"Spit it out!" Mark grabbed him by the legs, flipped him upside down, and shook him violently.

"Spit it out!"

"Wait — wait, I can’t!"

"SPIT IT OUT!"

Yuji’s arms flailed helplessly as Mark shook him harder.

"I CAN’T!"

The mouth disappeared. Mark stopped shaking him, holding him upside down for one more second.

"You can’t do anything now, bitch. Soon I’ll have this brat under my control, and when I do, I’ll kill you."

A mouth opened on Yuji’s cheek.

Mark let go instantly. Yuji hit the floor face-first.

"Ewww, creepy! Why do you have a mouth growing on your face?" Nobara crouched beside him, poking at it with the end of her hammer.

Yuji rubbed his face. "I didn’t do it! That’s Sukuna!"

Megumi stood off to the side, watching the three of them without a word. He honestly didn’t know what to say anymore. Somehow, he was starting to feel like the only normal one in this group.

Nobara noticed his expression and pointed. "See? He’s over there thinking he’s normal compared to us."

Mark glanced at Megumi and nodded. "Yeah, that look right there. That’s definitely it."

"I can hear you," Megumi said, sighing.

"Let’s ignore the emo guy and go eat something," Mark said, already turning away.

Nobara followed immediately. "Hey, don’t leave me behind!"

"Then hurry up."

"I am hurrying!"

Yuji picked himself up and followed. Megumi stood there a moment longer, watching them go, then sighed and followed too.

At the same time, deep inside Jujutsu Headquarters, the higher-ups sat around the meeting room in stunned silence.

The mission had been arranged to eliminate Sukuna’s vessel — Yuji sent deliberately into a situation where a special-grade curse was expected to kill him. Instead, the vessel had walked out alive.

That wasn’t even the worst part. The report made clear that Mark had entered the detention center with the first-years and eliminated the special grade without any real difficulty. Whatever the elders had assumed about Satomi’s "boyfriend," they’d assumed wrong.

One of the elders slowly lowered the report. "He’s not a Grade 1."

Another frowned. "Then what is he?"

"Unknown. But judging by what happened in that detention center, he’s operating at special-grade level at minimum."

The room went quiet.

They had expected the mission to remove one problem. Instead they’d created another — the vessel was still alive, and now he had an unknown sorcerer of special-grade strength standing beside him.

One of the higher-ups slammed a hand on the table. "That damn Gojo played us!"

Nobody corrected him. None of them expected the vessel to be shielded by a sorcerer of that caliber.

Their entire plan had gone to waste.

"She knew exactly what she was doing," another elder muttered.

"We cannot simply punish her for this."

The first elder glared at him. "Why not?"

The old man looked at him like the answer should have been obvious. "Because she’s Gojo Satoru."

Night at Jujutsu High

"Hahaha! I should’ve seen those old guys’ faces. They’re probably still sitting there wondering how the whole plan fell apart," Satomi said, sitting comfortably on Mark’s bed.

Mark lay against the headboard on the other side, playing a game on his phone.

"Let me compensate you for handling the trouble today," Satomi said, shifting closer.

Mark kept playing, deliberately ignoring her. He already knew how she operated — tease, get a reaction, walk away before he could respond.

She smiled at his lack of reaction, then suddenly climbed forward and settled onto his stomach. That got his attention. He looked up at her.

Her cheeks were flushed, her smile a little wider than usual.

Mark narrowed his eyes. "Wait. Don’t tell me you’re drunk?"

"Yeah, had a few," she admitted, resting her hands on his chest, looking down at him.

He sighed, setting his phone aside. "Just go to sleep. Drink some water first."

She ignored the suggestion, staying put. "You’re not going to ask what I had?"

"No. I already know the answer."

She laughed quietly. "You’re no fun."

"I’m trying to keep you from doing something stupid while you’re drunk."

She leaned closer, her expression softening. "I don’t think it’s stupid."

Before he could respond, she kissed him.

It was brief and gentle, but it caught him completely off guard — his eyes widened for a second before he relaxed, one hand settling lightly at her side.

When she pulled back, she smiled at the look on his face. "Got you."

He stared at her. "You planned that."

"Maybe."

He shook his head, a small smile breaking through anyway. "Go to sleep, Satomi."

She rested her forehead against his. "Only if you stay here."

He looked at her for a moment. "Fine."

Satomi smiled and settled in beside him, finally quiet, as Mark reached over and pulled the blanket over them both.
