The Broken Halo

Sunless emerged from a shadow that was far away from Lilith’s attack.

She had escaped, but her left arm was missing from the shoulder.

Black blood poured from the wound. However, shadows quickly crawled around the stump and formed a new arm.

The arm looked exactly like her previous one, but it was completely black and made of condense shadows.

Lilith looked at the shadow arm with slightly raised brows.

"Hmm. You have some skill."

Sunless was not the only one that was injured. Simon’s body was severely injured too.

The attack Lilith unleashed had caused a large crack to appear on Simon’s chest down to his abdomen.

It radiated a dense dark golden light and blood seeped from it.

However, Unholy Regeneration healed Simon’s body and prevented it from breaking down completely.

What also helped both Simon and Lilith was that the constant use of Unholy Regeneration actually increased Simon’s mastery of the ability.

His Seven Stars Blessing was improving Simon’s mastery of Unholy Regeneration by a ridiculous speed because of his current state.

Meanwhile, Sunless did not respond.

She clenched her new hand, then she vanished into a shadow.

Lilith’s eyes moved, and in the next moment, Sunless appeared beside her.

CLANG!

Their blades collided, then Sunless vanished again.

CLANG!

She appeared behind Lilith.

Then below her.

Then above her.

Then beside her.

Her speed became faster and faster with every passing second.

The shadows around the battlefield became her doors.

Every dark corner became a path.

Every broken tree, every stone, every crack in the ground, and every shadow beneath the clouds became a place she could appear from.

However, Lilith blocked, parried, and counterattacked every single one of her attacks.

No matter how fast she became, Lilith always seemed to be one step ahead of her.

Their battle moves from the sky to the ground, from the ground to the trees, from the trees to the entrance of the ravine, and from the ravine back to the destroyed forest.

Every time they clashed, something was destroyed.

A tree became dust.

A boulder split apart.

The ground opened.

The air screamed.

And even the cliff walls of the ravine of the Shadowgrave Clan quaked violently with every single clash.

At one point, Sunless appeared behind Lilith and thrust her Shadow Blade toward her spine.

Lilith shifted her body slightly.

The blade missed her spine but pierced through her waist.

Sunless’ eyes flashed with a cold glint, but before she could twist the blade to make the injury deeper, Lilith grabbed her wrist.

Sunless’ pupils constricted.

Lilith turned her head slightly and looked at her with a slight curl of her lips.

"Got you."

She pulled Sunless forward and slammed her knee into Sunless’ stomach.

BOOM!

The force behind the strike caused Sunless’ back to bend like a dried up crayfish.

A shockwave burst out from behind her.

Blood flew out of her mouth, but Lilith did not stop.

She grabbed Sunless by the face and smashed her into the ground.

BANG!

BOOM!

The ground caved in.

Then Lilith dragged Sunless across the forest floor at a speed that would look like a blur in the eyes of mortals.

BANG!

BOOM!

BOOM!

BANG!

BOOM!

BANG!

Trees, rocks, and shattered hills were destroyed as Sunless’ body tore through them.

Lilith raised her hand and threw Sunless towards the ravine.

Sunless’ eyes flashed with rage, then she quickly stretched out her hand and disabled the Shadow Veil before she crashed into it.

If she crashed into the array, the damage that would be done to her body and most especially, the array, would be significant.

She didn’t want the Shadow Veil to be damaged.

It was a crucial foundation of her clan.

The moment the Shadow Veil was disabled, Sunless’ body flew through the air and crashed into the opposite cliff.

BOOOOM!

A large crater appeared on the cliff wall, and the entire cliff trembled.

Rocks and debris fell into the clan, causing many demons to scurry away in shock, disbelief, and fear.

They didn’t understand what was going on, but they all knew that they had to run for their lives.

They could sense the auras of two terrifying entities, and the Demon Lords in the clan knew that the auras were that of Demon Kings.

They were shocked and terrified to the core.

What was going on?

While the clan was in true chaos and shock, Sunless did not move for a few seconds.

Then the shadow beneath the crater expanded, and three shadow hands pushed her out of the crater.

She staggered out of the crater with a terrifying expression.

Her face was covered in black blood. Her clothes were torn all over, and the tattoos on her face glowed faintly.

She looked around, taking in and observing the chaos in her clan.

She became livid.

Her fury was like an erupting volcano.

She had no idea who was possessing Simon, but she hated her.

She hated that bitch.

And she wanted her dead.

She looked up, and her completely black eyes reflected the image of Lilith who was standing in the air above the clan like a god looking down on mortals.

Sunless scowled.

Then the shadow behind her became larger.

Larger.

And larger.

It rose high into the sky and covered the remaining light above the valley, then the massive shadow split into several arms.

Ten arms.

Twenty arms.

Fifty arms.

A hundred arms.

Fifty arms each on both side of Sunless.

Each arm held a different shadow weapon.

Blades, spears, axes, chains, and bows.

Lilith looked up at the enormous shadow figure with a calm and indifferent expression.

The scene was terrifying.

Sunless stood beneath the shadow figure like the core of a nightmare, and the shadow weapons around her aimed at Lilith from every direction.

Lilith exhaled softly.

’This... might be troublesome. She has also hidden her soul properly. I’m finding it difficult to locate it.’

’This kid’s body can’t take much more of my power, but I have to push it.’

Just as she had this thought, all the shadow arms attacked.
