"What do I want?" Vera said with a smile. "Whatever you were planning to do to me, I’m going to do to you!"

The girls could see it now—at her core, she was a demon! And they were no match for her at all.

The girl who had spoken earlier hesitated for a moment before saying, "We were just hired help for today. We don’t have any personal grudge against you. If you want revenge, you should go find Autumn Rhodes. She’s the one who told us to come after you."

"Autumn Rhodes?" Vera frowned. She was a bit surprised. All along, she’d assumed this was Susan Caldwell’s handiwork.

"Yes, it was her," the girl said through gritted teeth. "If we hadn’t come to rough you up today, she would have made our lives at school a living hell."

She added, "But if we’d known how tough you are before we came, we never would have come, no matter how difficult she made things for us."

In her opinion, Vera was far more terrifying than Autumn Rhodes.

Vera’s eyes narrowed slightly. "I’ve only ever seen stories about school bullying on the news," she said calmly. "I never thought I’d experience it myself. It’s so late, the school administrators are probably gone, so I can’t even report this. And I’ve always hated being bullied more than anything. This business needs to be settled... don’t you all agree?"

The girls stared at her in surprise. The corners of her mouth curved up slightly. "Since Autumn Rhodes has wronged you all so badly, how about I give you a chance for revenge? If you seize this opportunity, she’ll never be able to bully you again. Do you want this chance or not?"

Vera gave them a small smile and whispered a few words in their ears. They looked hesitant after hearing her plan. "Will that... really work?"

"How will you know if you don’t try?" Vera asked with a smile.

The girls exchanged a look, then nodded slowly.

Seeing this, the corner of Vera’s mouth curled, and the smile in her eyes deepened.

Strictly speaking, there was no real feud between her and Autumn Rhodes. But Autumn had already targeted her several times, both openly and secretly. If Vera didn’t take action now, she’d look like a total pushover!

She felt it was time to put Autumn Rhodes in her place.

The girl whispered in Autumn Rhodes’s ear, "We took care of Vera. She’s a complete mess. I made her apologize to you and promise she’ll never go after Mr. Yale again."

Autumn Rhodes began to cackle as she listened. "Come on," she said immediately. "Take me to see for myself."
