Chapter 978: 978 - The Future of the Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance (02)

It didn’t take Tianjin long to agree to Akane’s requests.

He was especially excited to learn that he and the Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance itself would be in charge of her wedding to Qingyi.

Soon after, the conversation turned to less personal matters.

What to do with the demonic territory after the Heavenly Demon’s defeat. Who would take control of those lands once Akane left with Qingyi for the Land of the True Gods. And even how the Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance would continue to function from then on.

After all, the primary reason for its existence was to prepare for the war against the demons. It was an organization created to protect the orthodox world from the Heavenly Demon’s spawn.

But if Akane succeeded in purging the demonic race and restoring the true demonic path, things would get complicated.

The Alliance would lose its main reason for existing, and Tianjin would find himself in a difficult situation as a result.

Akane’s idea was very simple.

The Alliance would operate in both the orthodox world and the demonic world, focusing on maintaining peace and integrating the two forces.

It could continue as a peacemaking and unifying force—something that wouldn’t be difficult with Tianjin’s immense power and prestige behind it.

The old man fell silent for a few moments, stroking his beard as he turned the idea over in his head. Then he nodded slowly, a subtle smile appearing on his wrinkled face.

In this way, they could create a slightly more peaceful Celestial Heaven—at least for ordinary mortals and low-level cultivators.

After all, the cultivation world was cruel, and the struggle for resources was relentless.

Peace was hard to achieve. So all they could do was strive to protect those who had no part in that world’s cruelty.

After a few more minutes of conversation, Qingyi and Akane finally said their goodbyes, leaving the office to join the other two girls.

Yuehan was sitting elegantly at the edge of a beautiful lake filled with spirit carp, practically on the balcony of Tianjin’s office, sunlight streaming through her hair like silk.

Qianyao was crouched right beside her, holding Lingxi, who had a small fish treat pinched between her tiny fingers.

The baby stretched her little hand toward the water, lightly touching the icy surface. Her fingers curled back for a moment at the cold.

But curiosity quickly got the better of her, and soon her little hand was hovering over the pond again.

One of the carp—peaceful and accustomed to human contact—moved immediately, gliding through the water and snatching the treat from between Lingxi’s fingers with a soft splash.

The adorable baby let out a shrill laugh, waving her little arms and splashing water in all directions.

A few drops landed on Qianyao’s sleeve, but she only chuckled softly, not minding at all.

Normally, that much noise would have scared the fish away. But Lingxi, being the daughter of whom she was, carried an extremely powerful aura of life, and even the fish seemed to bow their heads to her, as comical as that might seem.

Qianyao stood up, holding Lingxi close to her chest as her eyes turned toward the figures of Qingyi and Akane approaching along the stone path.

Her beautiful golden eyes fell upon the crown Qingyi was holding between his fingers.

She recognized that crown.

She had seen many drawings of it and read many books about it.

Her heart quickened slightly, and her fingertips tightened around Lingxi’s little clothes.

Qianyao parted her lips to say something, but Qingyi was already standing before her.

He raised the crown and placed it elegantly upon her head. She blushed instantly.

The gold fit perfectly between her horns, horns that shone with a golden hue even deeper than that of the metal itself.

Immediately, the crown changed.

What had clearly been the crown of an Emperor reshaped itself, bit by bit, into the form of an Empress’s crown.

It gently embraced Qianyao’s horns, small golden curves winding around them and adorned with precious jewels—jade and rubies—that captured the sunlight and reflected it back in tiny flashes of color.

In a matter of moments, the masculine crown had become one worthy of the most beautiful woman in that world.

It further enhanced Qianyao’s beauty—and, of course, that of her horns.

Yuehan, still seated, rested her chin in her hand and watched with a satisfied smile, as if admiring a painting finally completed.

Lingxi, who was already back in her father’s arms after nearly throwing herself at him, watched it all with her little mouth half-open.

Her purple eyes sparkled as she reached out toward Qianyao’s crown.

"Dadda! Pincess!" she shouted, clapping her little hands.

Qianyao laughed at the sight, leaning over Lingxi and gently kissing the little girl’s forehead.

From her spatial ring, she retrieved an item: a tiara crafted by the Divine Blacksmith himself, a gift for her fifth birthday.

The tiara, also golden but far more cute than elegant, fit perfectly on Lingxi’s little head, and she let out a soft giggle.

Yuehan took a mirror from her spatial ring, holding it up to show Lingxi her own reflection.

The baby touched the tiara on her head and blinked, her cheeks flushed.

She tilted her little head to one side, then the other, following the gleam of the gold in the mirror.

Even she could see how adorable she looked.

With a high-pitched giggle, she turned and hugged her father tightly, burying her little face in his neck.

The four adults exchanged glances, laughing.

"Well then, let’s go back to the World of the Mind. Rouxi must have finished preparing Lingxi’s baby food by now, and we’d better not let it get cold," Yuehan said, the other two girls nodding in agreement.

Soon, Lingxi was taken back to the World of the Mind, and Qingyi found himself alone by the lake.

He sighed, raising his eyes to the sky.

It was perhaps noon, and the sky was beautiful.

The sun shone high above, and wherever he looked, he saw an endless sea of blue, dotted with pure white clouds of all shapes and sizes.

It was time to return to the Cosmic Dawn Sect, let Lingxi learn more about her mother’s homeland, and, of course, officially marry Mingzhu.
