The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System
Chapter 979 - Back to the Cosmic Dawn Sect
Chapter 979: 979 - Back to the Cosmic Dawn Sect
The Black Diamond, with its engines running at full power, was naturally much faster than the Cosmic Dawn Sect’s ship that had carried Qingyi to the Central Region some time ago.
A journey that had once taken months now took just over two weeks.
It could have been even faster, but Qingyi didn’t want to put too much strain on the engines by activating the extra-power mode.
That mode was useful for short combat engagements, desperate escapes, or quick jumps between star systems.
On a routine and relatively long journey, however, it only wore out the engines for nothing.
For this reason, Qingyi preferred to keep the ship at a steady pace. Still fast as fuck, naturally.
In any case, it didn’t take long for his powerful ship to reach the central planet of the Cosmic Dawn Sect.
None of the sect’s radars were even capable of detecting it, such was the technological gap between the two sides.
They only realized Qingyi had arrived when the Black Diamond was already tearing through the lower atmosphere, its dark hull gleaming under the sunlight as its enormous shadow glided over the Central Palace, the residence of the sect leader.
"Oh... so much has changed," Rou’er murmured, pressing her beautiful face against the cockpit window. Her breath fogged a small circle on the glass as she let out an impressed sigh.
"Oh..." Lingxi, nestled in her mother’s lap, mimicked the sigh with her high-pitched little voice, drawing a laugh from Rou’er.
"What impressed you, princess? You’ve never even been here before." She leaned over her daughter and planted a lingering kiss on her forehead.
Lingxi answered with an adorable babble, waving her little arms in the air as if trying to grab the landscape passing below.
Qingyi, his hands on the controls, smiled as well while watching the two of them.
Indeed, much had changed.
The entire palace was undergoing renovations, since the territory of the Cosmic Dawn Sect was to be divided among the allied sects.
Apart from that, everything of importance to the sect needed to be moved.
Ancestral treasures, artifacts, the entire vault crammed with riches, and, above all, millions of disciples, for the Cosmic Dawn Sect would also be accompanied by its vassal sects.
From Tianjin, they had received ten large cargo ships, along with twenty Cosmic Emperors who were personally assisting with the move.
For a sect like the Cosmic Dawn Sect, which had once only been able to dream of having a single Cosmic Emperor in its ranks, all of this felt like a dream no one wanted to wake up from.
They received tons of gifts from the allied sects that would take over the territory after their departure, and those same sects were already making plans to send young talents to train at the Cosmic Aurora in the future.
Once a sect whose younger generation seemed doomed to mediocrity, the Cosmic Dawn Sect was now the most respected in the entire north, and the one with the brightest future.
And all of it because of a single person.
Long Qingyi.
"Look, the crater from Big Brother Qingyi’s breakthrough is still there!" Rou’er exclaimed, pointing at a darkened spot amid the green plains and groves surrounding the Celestial Fairy Pavilion, formerly commanded by Rouxi.
The site where her palace had been destroyed had already been cleared.
The new palace had been built elsewhere, and all that remained of the old one was an abandoned crater, with sparse grass beginning to creep along its edges.
"Hm... I liked that palace..." Rouxi sighed, her cheeks flushing slightly as she looked away for a moment. "Having such a... well... powerful adopted son does have its downsides."
Hearing that, Qingyi merely shook his head with a faint smile. "I can rebuild it with the Destiny Reversal, if you want."
"No." Rouxi shook her head, her eyes drifting back to the crater. "It’s in the past. It’s time for me to move on."
Qingyi didn’t press the issue, simply guiding the ship in a gentle curve toward the central courtyard of the sect leader’s palace.
The Black Diamond landed with a soft thud, the stones of the courtyard trembling under its weight as a cloud of dust rose and rolled outward in every direction.
He rose from his seat and, with Rouxi on his left, Rou’er on his right, and Mingzhu right beside him, stepped out of the ship.
The other girls were still in the Mind World, as they didn’t want to cause too much of a commotion during the reunion.
When the massive side hatch opened with a hiss of pressurized air, the planet’s fresh breeze flooded into the ship, carrying the scent of grass and sun-warmed stone.
Qingyi immediately spotted three figures waiting in the courtyard.
One of them was Rou’er’s adoptive father, standing beside his beautiful wife.
Once an old man, he now looked merely middle-aged—handsome and elegant, with a neatly shaved face and a complexion that blended the best of youth and maturity.
His wife, brought back to life, was radiant—beautiful enough to rival even Qingyi’s own wives—and she gazed at the young dragon with eyes full of gratitude, her hands resting tenderly on her belly.
Beside them stood a smiling old man, his hands clasped behind his back.
Even he, Ma Zhenwu, looked far younger than before, his eyes shining with an energy he hadn’t felt in decades.
Honestly, he needed nothing more in life.
His beloved granddaughter was about to marry a worthy man, and he himself was now a full-fledged Star Sovereign.
In the future, who knows, he might even become a Cosmic Emperor.
He would live to see his great-grandchildren. He would live to see his beloved granddaughter rise to the pinnacle of the cosmos alongside Qingyi.
Soon, the reunion began, soft laughter echoing through the courtyard as the adorable Lingxi was introduced to the sect leader and his wife, who fell in love with the little girl the very moment she laid eyes on her.
She herself was already pregnant, her rounded belly visible beneath her dress, and it wouldn’t be long before she gave birth.
Seeing a little girl as adorable as Rou’er’s daughter struck a deep chord in her still-budding maternal instincts, and she couldn’t resist reaching out her arms, asking with an eager smile if she could hold her.
