Chapter 1165: Chapter 1165: A Kindred Spirit Is Hard to Find

To deal with someone like this, you have to keep them in suspense, step by step.

"Ah, it’s rare that the snacks at Brother Yi’s place are so tasty. If I don’t eat my fill, how could I bear to leave?" Han Jing picked up another piece of snack and tossed it into her mouth, then poured herself a cup of tea: "This tea is incredibly fragrant, too."

"Hearing you say this, even I can’t resist trying it. I don’t usually eat these desserts, but seeing how delicious they are to you, Jing’er, I start to suspect I’m missing out." Ming Qianyi smiled, picked a piece from the plate Han Jing had just taken from, put it in his mouth, making a stiff expression before swallowing it, and then suddenly exclaimed, "It’s really good!"

"Haha, right?" Han Jing laughed aloud, causing Xia Wu, who was nearby, to chuckle softly as well.

She watched these two go back and forth, neither yielding, genuinely impressed. She originally disliked engaging too much with Ming Qianyi because he was exceptionally smart; people felt exposed before him, and his witty conversations could inadvertently confuse them, making it difficult to judge correctly.

Who knew this little sprite Han Jing would not fall behind, chatting all this time about food without revealing anything she shouldn’t, nor falling into Ming Qianyi’s sweet traps. She couldn’t help but admire her.

Then the two of them chatted until almost noon, with Ming Qianyi insisting on Han Jing and her companions staying for lunch. They successfully enjoyed a lunch praised excessively by Han Jing, which prompted endless sweet talk from Ming Qianyi as if he wanted to break through the Great Wall to steal their secrets.

It was a pity, though, that Han Jing’s secrets were not easily compromised by ordinary people.

At the end of the meal, Ming Qianyi clapped his hands, signaling someone to bring something over, at which Han Jing’s eyes brightened upon smelling it.

"Hey, Brother Yi, you’re amazing! Where did you get this stuff from? It smells so good!" Han Jing picked up a bean from the porcelain bowl, sniffed it at her nose, and closed her eyes blissfully.

"Hahaha, it seems my gift has found the right person, Jing’er. They say it’s hard to find someone who truly understands; you are my true confidant! You can’t imagine, I’ve sent this tea to quite a few esteemed guests, and in the end, they suspected I was gifting them medicine. It took me significant effort to figure out how to make it, and until now, only you, Jing’er, have recognized its scent." Ming Qianyi was even more excited than Han Jing. He truly viewed her as a peculiar person and decided to offer her something he’d worked hard to create, not expecting she genuinely understood it!

Han Jing, however, mentally criticized, how could she not recognize it? Coffee beans, of course, nobody would think of them as valuable, probably considering them some sort of wild fruit! A bitter wild fruit at that, who would appreciate it! But a capable person is indeed capable. Ming Qianyi could actually roast these beans, that’s rare indeed!

"Brother Yi, I may not understand other things, but this, there’s likely no one who understands it better than I do. It’s something new, but I wouldn’t call it tea; it should be called... coffee. Its growth conditions are limited, and aside from here, I haven’t seen it elsewhere!" Han Jing couldn’t help but take another whiff, it was truly nostalgic!
