Chapter 1166: Chapter 1166: When a Millennium-Old Fox Meets a Real Fairy
Han Jing couldn’t help but think of An’an again. Oh, if only An’an could be here with them now, how excited they would be! After all, this is something filled with memories, something that belongs to their shared memories.
Later, I must ask Ming Qianyi for some more, so I can take it back to An’an when we return!
"Oh? Jing’er, do you have any other ways to prepare it? I’ve tried boiling it, but I always feel like I can’t capture its essence," Ming Qianyi asked, puzzled.
"Of course, perfect timing, let’s try it now." Han Jing excitedly forgot about the half-eaten lunch and said to Ming Qianyi, "Brother Yi, I’ll need you to prepare a few things."
Then he mentioned a few simple tools to Ming Qianyi, and Ming Qianyi immediately had someone fetch them.
Han Jing carefully ground the beans into a powder. Who would have thought that although this was Ming Qianyi’s own creation, the roasting wasn’t bad.
He then used a stove to boil and filter it, dividing it into several cups, each one with milk, sugar, and one without any additives.
"Alright, let’s give it a try, see what the differences are," Han Jing laughed.
Ming Qianyi didn’t hesitate at all and slowly savored it. Xia Wu, although a bit skeptical about whether this was drinkable like traditional medicine, tried it out of curiosity.
"It’s so amazing!" Ming Qianyi exclaimed, "Indeed, the taste is much richer than what I brewed, and the aroma is more intense. Adding milk and sugar gives it a different flavor. Jing’er, you’re truly a surprise!"
Han Jing shamelessly replied, "Then give me more beans! I can teach you a few more ways to prepare it. Oh, by the way, although it has a unique taste, you can’t drink too much of it, otherwise you might get ’intoxicated’ because it, like tea, has a stimulating effect. Drink too much, and you’ll be overly excited!"
"Haha, that’s true. Initially, when I wasn’t sure if it was edible, I tried it on my pet animals. Those little guys were so excited that they ran around all night. I had a doctor check them, but they couldn’t find anything wrong. I was curious. Finally, I discovered it was like tea, a mind-clearing drink, and thought it was a kind of tea." Ming Qianyi found this amusing and couldn’t help but chuckle.
Then Han Jing taught Ming Qianyi several methods of concocting it, suggesting that he could add other ingredients to his liking, even alcohol. The two became more and more excited, and what was supposed to be a farewell after lunch turned into a lengthy conversation until late afternoon when Han Jing finally left, carrying a large bundle of items.
On the way back, Xia Wu stared at Han Jing for half of the journey, eventually giving Han Jing a thumbs-up: "Jing’er, I’ve known Ming Qianyi for many years. Although I haven’t interacted with him much, I’ve heard plenty from others who have. They say Ming Qianyi is a cunning old fox, but today I realized this cunning old fox has met his match in the real deal. It’s not so easy to outwit him!"
Han Jing twitched at the corners of his mouth: "Sister A Wu, are you praising me or scolding me?"
"Pfft," Xia Wu chuckled, "Praising you, of course praising you! Jing’er, you’ve truly impressed me because usually when others deal with Ming Qianyi, they’re led by the nose, but with you..."
