Chapter 2335: Archangel of Domination

  • Next Chapter

As Lucifer jumped back and the chains chased him, the Priestess’s body burned with hell’s flames as she started floating up, and thousands more chains started bursting out of the ground to capture him.

With a single flap of his white wings, Lucifer shattered all of those chains and looked up with a smile as his massive body burned with golden light. Far away, Kageru looked up from the city wall with Agnar and the rest with him, and he was already sweating and shivering. "No fucking way, Lucifer himself?!"

"The First Warden of hell..." Kita turned around and shouted, "Evacuate the entire city!" She knew that once Lucifer started going all out, the entire Ninth Layer would be plowed and turned upside down.

"Abel!" Agnar looked back as he saw Abel fly toward them. "What happened? Or is this unrelated?"

"That’s the Head Priestess of the Temple of Treachery. I don’t know why, but Arad took over her body, and he was..." He looked out and paled. "The fuck is Lucifer himself doing here? Wasn’t he facing Asmodeus?"

Kageru glared right back at him. "Asmodeus is facing Lucifer?!"

"No, that’s... The Priestess is possessed by the Emperor of Nothing." As Abel growled, Yuwaku gasped. "Wait, father?" She looked at the Head Priestess flinging thousands of hell chains down at Lucifer and mumbled. "Why?"

Agnar growled, "Damn it! He doesn’t look under control at all." He could tell from a glance that if Arad was using the Head Priestess’s body to fight, something was off, as the fighting style didn’t match Arad’s.

Before anyone could reach him, Agnar was already jumping off the city’s fortified wall. "AGNAR!" As he was falling, he pulled his sword out and scratched it. "Roar! Maharaja!" Transforming into a massive and muscular black jaguar as he ran down the obsidian walls and then bolted toward the fight engulfed in black lightning.

Abel cried, and so did Kageru, and when both of them reached to catch him, they noticed everyone else moving as well.

ZON! Yuwaku teleported away as well, disappearing faster than anyone could notice, and Ignis laughed. "HAHAHAHAHA! Are we fighting Father now? I’ve been looking forward to this moment for ages!"

Her right fist burned with white flames, her left burned with black flames, and her entire body flashed with crimson heat. Kageru and Kita gasped, and all the devils who were nearby jumped away. "What!? Tiamat’s flames!?" One cried as he saw the black flames, and another pointed. "Kossuth’s flames?!" They saw the white flames.

At the next moment, flames exploded beneath her feet and propelled her forward like a rocket, leaving a large chunk of the wall charred. "Why does a red wyrmling have access to those flames!?" One of the devil guards who were nearby, an archdevil with a draconic bloodline who had spent centuries trying to earn Tiamat’s favor to use her flames, couldn’t believe his eyes.

Little did he know, Ignis was taught magic by Merlin, trained with Eris, and now spends most of her weekdays in Kossuth’s domain training under the goddess, and she even spends the weekends in Tiamat’s palace to study her own flames.

Theresa shook her head and sighed. "What should I do? Those three never learn." She sprouted her vampire wings and flew toward the battlefield as well.

Abel stared at them in horror. What do they think they could do? Whatever Arad was doing, it wasn’t something that even the likes of Asmodeus could handle; that’s why Lucifer himself was forced to show up. Agnar and his party won’t survive this fight, so he expanded his wings and flew after them. "We’re dragging them back!" He shouted, and Kageru followed him. "For fuck’s sake!"

Far away, Lucifer dodged several massive chains and swung his fist, ripping a whole mountain in half as he sent a flashing crescent moon of pure divine magic. The Chains were blasted away, but not even scratched, as they were designed to enslave anyone from gods down to mortals.

His goal was simple: he had to either convince hell, or hold out until Asmodeus returned with the stupid Baron. But there was one catch: could he hold out against Hell’s wrath alone?

But then, he noticed something. A few of the chains had stopped targeting him and were moving east, toward the direction of the city. That didn’t make sense, as Hell won’t randomly target other devils besides those it thinks are at fault... but then he quickly saw them. Agnar’s group rushing in.

"Those fools!?!" He gasped, seeing Agnar running toward him in his black jaguar form, dodging the chains with extreme agility, and the few chains that were about to hit him were absorbed and directed away by floating void pockets.

Agnar growled. "Yuwaku, can you blind that Priestess with your beauty?" He asked, and her voice rang in his head. "I already tried, and it isn’t working. Hell is blind; it doesn’t need to see us to know where we are, and that Priestess is under Father’s control. My beauty won’t work on him."

"So our biggest weapon is useless. Great." He jumped into the air, engulfed his body with black lightning, and flashed past many of the chains as he launched a bite right at the Priestess’s face. But instead of just taking the hit, she swung her arm, smacking him in the chest hard enough to shatter his ribs and force him out of the transformation.

"Nice one, kid!" Lucifer flew in through that opening and grabbed the Head Priestess by the face, dragging both her and the chains away at blinding speed. His body flashed with divine magic, illuminating the whole layer as the devils hid inside their homes and underground from the holy radiance. "Divine Flash!"

As the entire layer shook, the light consumed everything, and when it faded, Lucifer was bleeding on the ground, having lost one of his wings and an eye. He growled on the dusty ground, and Agnar, who had just been healed by Yuwaku, looked up, seeing her.

The Head Priestess looked different. Her skin had turned pure and fair, her hair white and long, her eyes bright blue; her nun’s robe was burnt and torn, leaving her only in rags. But the scary part was her back: her black, leathery devil wings were nowhere to be seen, and in their place stood ten pure white angel wings.

Slave shackles formed over her wrists and ankles, and the chains linked to them were from hell.

Lucifer growled. "An Archangel of Domination, Supremacy, and Divine Submission." He stood. "Is this how Baal was born? That kid sure was something, but how are you able to pull this off?" He then smiled. "No, I can already guess. His soul can easily convert energies; you’re just using that."

Arad’s soul can easily turn cursed magic into divine magic, and hell has an abundance of curses. All that hell needed to do was to flood curses through Arad’s soul, and then merge that new divine magic with the Head Priestess’s body to turn her back into an angel, and by using Lucifer’s divine magic as a started, Hell managed to not just turn her back into an angel, but fuel her evolution all the way to an Archangel.

BAM! But at that moment, from the still writhing dust, a fist of white flames came crashing down at the Archangel’s face. Ignis’s fist itself did no damage, and so did her own flames. But Kossuth’s white flames and Tiamat’s black flames converged, sparked, and their power pushed the Archangel back.

In retaliation, the Archangel swung her fist right at Ignis’s guts, aiming to punch a hole into her chest.
