The End of the Immortal Path
Chapter 580 - 317: The Killer is Zui Fusheng
Chapter 580: Chapter 317: The Killer is Zui Fusheng
If the opponent was truly too strong, there was indeed nothing to be done.
Not long after Jiang Man left, two people appeared in his courtyard.
"He’s not here?" A young man frowned. "Damn it, of all times, he’s not here right now. Didn’t they say he’s always in Cultivation?"
Another tall, thin man asked with some concern, "What do we do now? They can’t wait too long."
"It’s fine. Let’s wait a bit and see when the target returns." The young man looked at the Old Yellow Ox and the shivering Tengu nearby, lowering his voice. "If worst comes to worst, we’ll just kill these two beasts and leave. We’ll treat it as a wasted trip."
The tall and thin man nodded.
The two of them then bound the Old Yellow Ox and the Tengu before concealing themselves. If that man returned in a short while, they would activate a Magical Treasure to conceal everything here. In the time it takes an incense stick to burn, they would kill him, leave this place to meet up with the main force, and then use the Venerable’s Great Divine Techniques to escape quickly.
Meanwhile, the Old Yellow Ox was still grazing, causing the two men to shake their heads.
A beast was still a beast; even with impending doom, it was still eating.
The dog, however, was a bit smarter. It knew it was about to die.
Outside the Sect, within a forest.
Several people stood in specific positions, seemingly activating an Array. In the center of the Array, Zhao Tiankuo stared fixedly at Fairy Mu before him. "Who exactly are you people?"
"Lord Demon King is truly adaptable, actually transforming into the young master of a petty family, mingling with a bunch of Foundation Establishment cultivators and even enduring their mockery." Fairy Mu shook her head and sighed. "If we didn’t have a special Skill, we really wouldn’t have expected the dignified Demon King to be in such a state."
"Special Skill?" Hearing this, Zhao Tiankuo frowned. "Are you Celestial Demon’s people?"
"Lord Demon King can guess all you want. You’ll know once we return," Fairy Mu smiled faintly. "However, it is indeed a pity that we can no longer trade with the Wuyun Sect in the future.
"Earning Spiritual Sources here is simply fast. We could even smuggle Cultivation Skills occasionally. Now, all these connections are useless, and it’s all thanks to you, Lord Demon King."
"Traitors to the Demon Race," Zhao Tiankuo said coldly. "No matter how strong Celestial Demon is, he’s still a traitor. Besides, his strength belongs to the past. Under the grand governance of the Immortal Sects, he won’t be able to clamor for long."
Hearing this, Fairy Mu looked at Zhao Tiankuo with sorrow. "Lord Demon King, you are truly foolish. If the Human Race can progress, can’t demons progress as well?
"In terms of innate conditions, demons are stronger than humans. So, as long as we use our brains, the Demon Race will definitely be stronger than the Human Race. It was true in the past, and it remains true now. The Human Race has already provided the answers; shouldn’t we just copy them?
"Only conservatives like you, Demon King, rely solely on instinct without learning or progressing. By isolating yourselves, what else can you expect besides being wiped out?
"The Venerable is different from you. You are nothing but the kind of people history has discarded. Once we recognize our weaknesses and mistakes, it is only natural to correct them. The Immortal Sects can achieve grand governance, and so can the Demon Race. There’s still time for everything."
"Celestial Demon is not orthodox," Zhao Tiankuo sneered. "He cannot become the true master of the Demon Race now."
"That is exactly why we need Lord Demon King’s help," Fairy Mu said with a smile. "I heard Lord Demon King is also not simple—managing to stay alive this whole time and even locating the orthodox heir of the Demon Race."
"If you take me back and I regain power one day, do you think any of you will live?" Zhao Tiankuo stated, staring right at them.
Fairy Mu laughed. "Then Lord Demon King had better cooperate with the Venerable, otherwise you won’t be taking our lives.
"Moreover, don’t waste your efforts. Information cannot be sent out. Since we could find Lord Demon King, we naturally know how to block your methods."
Zhao Tiankuo did not reply, continuing to send messages to the Old Yellow Ox in secret.
Jiang Man was someone highly valued by the Law Enforcement Hall. If he could just get the Old Yellow Ox to fetch people from the Law Enforcement Hall, he might still have a chance to escape. He never expected that the Demon Race would come looking for him one day, let alone find him and try to take him away by force. Having only recovered a fraction of his strength, he had no way to resist.
At this moment, Fairy Mu looked at the sky and said, "It’s about time, isn’t it?"
"Yes." The people beside her nodded immediately.
"Logically speaking, it should be over. They should be coming out in the time it takes for an incense stick to burn. If we don’t see anyone by then, we’ll just leave directly," Fairy Mu instructed.
The others nodded in agreement.
Zhao Tiankuo was confused. What else were these people trying to do? When he asked, they simply stated they were conveniently completing a collaboration.
"What collaboration? Can you tell me about it?" A sudden voice echoed by Fairy Mu’s ear.
An unfamiliar voice coming from an unexpected direction. She turned her head immediately, only to be met head-on with a massive fist.
BOOM!
Fairy Mu struck out with her palm, clashing directly with the incoming fist.
CRACK!
Her palm twisted unnaturally as the Magical Treasures on her body shattered, sending her flying backward.
Only then did everyone realize that, at some unknown point, a figure had appeared in the center of the Array. He just stood there, exuding an inexplicable sense of oppression. Moreover, his body emitted a faint glow. It wasn’t particularly bright, yet it was exceptionally dazzling.
"Who are you?" Fairy Mu was somewhat shocked. She hadn’t sensed a thing.
Triggering the Array, she took a step forward the moment the intruder was about to speak. "Do it! Kill him!"
The Array lit up as the crowd launched their attacks.
Jiang Man felt the surrounding power and furrowed his brows slightly. He could fight, but it wouldn’t be an easy one.
The reason he had suddenly appeared here was because of this Array. If he didn’t stand right here, he couldn’t stop it from activating. He wasn’t sure what kind of Array this was, but it was somewhat similar to Mu Kong’s methods. It was likely a spatial Array. If he didn’t stop it, things would go south.
At this moment, auras erupted all around, and powerful energy swept through the area. Several figures cast Magic Skills as they attacked, sealing off all his retreat paths from their various positions.
In a flash, sword light cascaded like silk and saber qi crisscrossed, accompanied by the howling sounds of wind and thunder. The moment the power of the Magic Skills materialized, a flash of cold light had already reached Jiang Man.
The sword thrust out like a dragon, carrying a momentum that tore through the air.
Jiang Man stepped sideways to dodge and, facing the blade of that thunderous sword, gently flicked his finger.
CRACK!
The thunder shattered.
CLANG!
With a sharp BANG, fractures appeared on the blade before it instantly pulverized into dust.
In her moment of astonishment, Jiang Man’s hand closed around her neck, crushing it heavily.
BANG! Blood sprayed out.
Attacks from behind arrived in an instant, but Jiang Man’s figure moved like a phantom, leaving behind numerous afterimages. He instantly appeared behind the person attacking him from the rear and threw a punch.
BANG!
The moment the person turned around, they were met directly with the fist.
BOOM!
They were blasted to pieces.
As the surrounding Magic Skills rained down, Jiang Man suppressed them with his fists. Then, he struck out rapidly, his entire body breaking into a multitude of afterimages that appeared in front of everyone.
When he phased past the vast majority of them and arrived in front of Fairy Mu to deliver a palm strike, the moment his power erupted, the bodies of everyone behind him gave off a massive BOOM. They all collapsed to the ground, their fates unknown.
Fairy Mu shouted angrily, "Who exactly are you, and what is your purpose?! We have no grudge against you!"
As she spoke, she took a step forward, her power roaring deafeningly. Her speed was extreme as she swung her sword continuously, flashing around Jiang Man and attacking from a different angle each time. However, every single strike was blocked by Jiang Man, who remained standing rooted to the spot.
With the convergence of power and the tempering of his Spirit, the "momentum" that Ting Fengyin had spoken of began to gather and manifest around him.
The more Fairy Mu fought, the more terrified she became. Before her very eyes, a person she thought she could rival seemingly grew infinitely taller—like an immense mountain that could not be scaled or matched.
Yet, she did not give up. She sought to unleash her strongest sword strike to severely injure him. But the moment she gathered her power, his aura abruptly changed.
It felt as though endless grand mountains were pressing down from the sky around them.
Divine Technique—Three Mountains Subduing the Peaks!
BOOM!
The formidable power crushed Fairy Mu’s Magic Skill, Spirit Sword, and Primordial Spirit. It was as if the sky itself had collapsed.
With a heavy thud, Fairy Mu crashed into the center of the Array.
At this moment, the Array began to activate. The corpses lying upon it started disappearing bit by bit.
"Who... exactly are you?" On her deathbed, Fairy Mu looked at that insurmountable figure and spoke with great difficulty.
Jiang Man lowered his eyes to look at her and replied, "The one who killed you is Zui Fusheng."
Instantly, the Array enveloped everyone, vanishing from the spot.
On the other side, at the Demon Race’s reception point.
A powerful demon rushed to the front of the Array excitedly. "Did it succeed?"
Then, the light faded, revealing corpses and dripping blood covering the entire Array.
In that instant, everyone’s pupils constricted. Fairy Mu had also been teleported back.
"Fairy Mu, what happened?" A man immediately rushed to her side to ask. But he found that her Primordial Spirit was shattered; she was beyond salvation.
Gasping for air, Fairy Mu managed to look at the people around her and forced out her final words.
"The killer... is Zui Fusheng!"
