The End of the Immortal Path
Chapter 637 - 344: The World Has Started to Mess with Me
Chapter 637: Chapter 344: The World Has Started to Mess with Me
The mysterious Evil God’s proposal was highly lucrative for Jiang Man, especially since it would allow Zui Fusheng to obtain sufficient information. He wouldn’t have to worry about a lack of information sources causing his actions to overlap and raise suspicion.
Afterward, he reported the matter, simply stating that the Ling Hua Immortal Spirit had made contact with an unknown Evil God who wanted to trade with Zui Fusheng. As for the rest, it was up to the higher-ups of the Zhenyue Bureau. If they were willing to send a message to Zui Fusheng, then the matter would be settled; if they weren’t, then this would become very difficult to handle. But he believed they would do it. So far, the status Zui Fusheng had displayed was still that of a prominent figure, and those higher-ups in the Wuyun Sect shouldn’t dare to make the decision on their own. Therefore, this matter was already more than half done.
But it couldn’t be rushed.
In addition, he needed to gather information regarding the Water God’s weaknesses or private matters. In their next confrontation, he couldn’t afford to be as passive as today. Although his momentum had been present, failing to suppress the other side was already considered a defeat.
His ultimate goal remained determining the situation of the Array Evil God and pinpointing the Supreme Heart Hall. Everything was very clear. Right now, his focus was on improving his Cultivation, gathering information, and securing a top-three rank in the courtyard. If he couldn’t even reach the top three, how could he talk about killing the Bai Family Ancestor? Let alone establishing an Immortal Ascension Dojo with his Primordial Spirit Cultivation. These required not only the Realm but also combat strength and Heart Spirit.
Afterward, Jiang Man devoted himself to Cultivation. In October, he similarly didn’t go to the courtyard. According to Ji Meng, Mr. Yan’s complexion had improved significantly.
Early November.
In Jiang Man’s small courtyard, Qi and Blood proliferated. The ground of the courtyard trembled slightly as a fine crack split open between the bluestone slabs. A few withered leaves were swept up by the air wave, spinning several times in midair. The power of Qi and Blood surged like rolling tides, rendering the air in the courtyard thick and heavy.
BANG.
The Tengu, which had been digging soil and weeding in the corner of the yard, was sent flying once again. It rolled twice on the ground, scrambled up, and shook off the dirt. Looking around, it still saw nothing, yet it witnessed a familiar scene: its master was standing in front of Brother Niu, calling him Xiaohuang.
"I must be hallucinating from not eating enough lately," the Tengu muttered, taking a bite of grass and swallowing it with difficulty. It started to miss Old Meng. He was enjoying himself all alone in there—so wicked.
The Old Yellow Ox glanced at Jiang Man and asked calmly, "Are you invincible within the same Realm?"
Jiang Man wanted to speak, but after a moment of thought, he replied, "I’m still a bit short."
In the Sect, he ranked fourth in the Primordial Spirit Realm. Above him were Ji Meng, Qing Dai, and the Bai Family Ancestor. However, soon it would just be him. Once he filled his fourth Gourd, there would be no more room for improvement in this Realm. What remained was the application of Mr. Ji’s Magic Skill, as well as Ting Fengyin’s Gathering Strength. Finally, he needed to condense enough Evil God Power. Under such circumstances, he would have no rivals in the Primordial Spirit Realm.
That day, a message arrived from the Zhenyue Bureau, agreeing to Jiang Man’s proposal. But their agreement didn’t mean Zui Fusheng agreed; it still required the other party’s nod of approval.
That afternoon.
Jiang Man’s Zui Fusheng Token received a message from Red Eagle, stating that a mysterious Evil God wanted to trade with them through Jiang Man. At this, Jiang Man felt a surge of joy. This way, he could earn ten thousand for passing on a single message. Becoming wealthy was only a matter of time, especially if he wanted to make Zui Fusheng famous, which would make it even easier to earn Spiritual Sources.
However, he was in no rush to reply. Instead, he planned to wait about a month to give them the illusion that Zui Fusheng had just arrived in this area. Fortunately, the Zhenyue Bureau’s Token didn’t have a read receipt feature, or else it would be awkward. The Jade Token’s authority was extremely high; since he didn’t have such a feature, others probably didn’t either.
Having made his decision, Jiang Man planned to continue his Cultivation and reach its absolute peak as quickly as possible. Then, he would learn how to channel energy and how to achieve Gathering Strength. He also needed to learn another Magic Skill to prepare for the fight over the Returning Void quota.
"Master, are you still going to continue your Cultivation?" the Tengu came over and asked curiously.
Jiang Man nodded slightly and said righteously, "Not a single thing can stop me from my Cultivation."
The Tengu was shocked, feeling that its master was incredibly diligent.
"Young Master Jiang?" Ji Meng’s voice came from the doorway.
Jiang Man turned his head, quite surprised. "Miss Ji Meng?"
At the entrance, Ji Meng, dressed in a light blue Immortal Skirt, happened to be standing in the sunlight, a faint halo radiating behind her. The November breeze brushed past her, causing the hem of her skirt to flutter slightly. The Silver Bell tied at the end of her hair swayed gently in the wind, letting out a very soft DING.
She rested one hand on the doorframe and tilted her head slightly to look into the courtyard, making Jiang Man inadvertently say, "A bit dazzling."
"The Taiyang is indeed a bit strong today," Ji Meng said as she walked into the courtyard, the Silver Bell at the end of her hair chiming in a crisp, pleasant melody. She asked curiously, "Is Young Master Jiang going to continue his Cultivation today too?"
"I’m not," Jiang Man shook his head. "Is Miss Ji Meng going out for a stroll?"
"I have no idea where Qing Dai ran off to; she’s probably out searching for her Heaven-shocking Wisdom," Ji Meng remarked.
Jiang Man kicked the dumbfounded Tengu aside, stepped up to Miss Ji Meng, and said, "Let’s go. I’ll take Miss Ji Meng out."
The Tengu watched its master leave and asked curiously, "Brother Niu, didn’t Master say that not a single thing could stop his Cultivation?"
The Old Yellow Ox glanced at the Tengu and asked, "Who is Ji Meng?"
"The Mistress," the Tengu answered truthfully.
The Old Yellow Ox continued, "Then by asking that, are you calling her a ’thing’?"
The Tengu was stunned and immediately shook its head in explanation. "The Mistress is not a ’thing’!"
After speaking, the Tengu froze again. "She is a ’thing’."
Then it felt that wasn’t right either. "She isn’t a ’thing’..."
Finally, feeling as if its brain was going to explode, it squatted in a corner and shut itself down.
Meanwhile, the Old Yellow Ox calmly continued eating grass.
