Having a long talk with Qiu Huaili made Liu Banxia feel much lighter.
Actually, he is under a lot of pressure now, running around tirelessly, this mental exhaustion is second only to the last time he applied for the deputy director.
But now his inner strength has grown a lot, so there is no need to seek "talk therapy" anymore.
Many things are just like this, the person involved is confused, the onlooker sees clearly.
When he helps others analyze problems, he speaks logically, but when it comes to himself? He is a bit unclear about the whole picture. Then he flits around mindlessly like a headless fly.
It’s just that now his surgical skills are quite good, so he hasn’t caused any other troubles, otherwise he might encounter something he can’t handle.
Driving to the emergency center, work must continue. You can’t muddle through just because you feel a bit tired.
"Teacher Liu, Teacher Liu, how did the persuading go yesterday?"
Seeing him come in, Xu Yino excitedly asked.
"What else? I feel the effect wasn’t very good." Liu Banxia said with a smile.
"After all, pediatric surgery isn’t ordinary surgery, it has certain limitations and requires bearing huge pressure. Kids these days aren’t stupid, even if some favorable conditions are provided, it’s not easy for them to be fooled. How’s your patient doing?"
Upon hearing his question, Xu Yino suddenly became unhappy, "I went to the ICU once I woke up today, and the effect still isn’t looking good. Currently considering raising the dosage to 1000, it’s quite risky."
"Yesterday I also mentioned your case in the academy, from the current situation, the drug sensitivity response isn’t looking good. Probably will have to attempt a higher dosage, there’s no other choice. What does her family think?" Liu Banxia continued to ask.
"There’s still some time, letting the family and the patient consider together." Xu Yino said.
"Actually, there isn’t much to consider, the ultimate goal is to save lives. For her family, this treatment really drained everything."
"Last night I even heard them on the phone borrowing money, but borrowing money now is getting difficult. Teacher Liu, can’t they establish some kind of fund?"
"How to establish? There are many rescue funds in society now, but it’s just like that." Liu Banxia shook his head.
"No matter how much money there is, facing the patients waiting for funds to save lives in the world, it’s just a drop in the ocean. We don’t have such great capability, so let’s not consider this matter."
Saying this is somewhat discouraging. But this is the reality now, especially for treating diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus, the treatment methods are very monotonous.
"Our shoulders are still too immature to bear such heavy responsibilities." Liu Banxia added.
Xu Yino nodded, she also understood it should be this way.
Having treated so many patients, not every patient’s family has enough financial support to allow the patient to receive the best treatment.
Liu Banxia didn’t say more, this matter is beyond his capability.
If it’s a rare disease or surgery with educational significance, he could try applying to waive some surgical fees.
After changing clothes, he greeted people upstairs and started the ward round mode.
This time he’s following along, the main focus is Li Hao.
In this regard, he also feels it’s time to start cultivating them, the strength of these six actually counts as competent. Could arrange two to three days a week to let them experience.
After wandering around, Liu Banxia arrived at the emergency center again, and upon seeing Shi Lei, he scuttled over and stared at him closely.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" Shi Lei asked with a smile.
"How did you know that Old Chen and I were going to give you a surprise attack? We went ahead of schedule, yet you managed to reschedule the class." Liu Banxia said gloomily.
This also counts as yesterday’s regret, the "surprise" prepared for Shi Lei, unexpectedly Shi Lei completely avoided it.
Shi Lei laughed, "I really didn’t know about this, their mouths are tight. It was just because another teacher had something, so we temporarily rescheduled."
"That’s fate, no choice, my luck is relatively good now. By the way, when I get married, I must go out for a honeymoon. Will you manage to get through then?"
"Definitely, even if it’s a mountain of knives or a sea of fire, gotta get through." Liu Banxia said.
"Ah... actually thinking makes me feel a bit embarrassed. But gotta hurry and head out while still able to move and take a look outside." Shi Lei sighed.
"I just feel a bit guilty towards everyone. You didn’t even go for a honeymoon when you got married. Yet I’m here taking off early."
"What are you thinking, going out is normal. I’m also preparing, probably later this year, if there’s an opportunity, then I’ll go play over at Qing Kewa’s place and take a look at their medical situation." Liu Banxia said.
"For me, it doesn’t matter if I go early or late. Not only do I owe Qiaoqiao a honeymoon, I owe her a wedding too."
"When I’m busy, everyone can support me, when you guys have matters, naturally I’ll stand up too. Don’t worry, play however you want."
"Then I won’t stand on ceremony, I’ll report to the director later. Anyway, with you backing me, I can enjoy playing at ease." Shi Lei said with a smile.
It’s just a small situation, although the "surprise" Liu Banxia gave him didn’t materialize, he’ll still fully support when help is needed.
"A car accident patient will be sent over soon, who’s planning to take the case?" At this moment Qi Wentai shouted.
"Oh boy, it’s just the start of the shift. Who’s up for this one?" Liu Banxia looked at Huang Bo and the others.
"I’ll take this one," Miao Rui said.
Liu Banxia nodded, which was as good as giving permission.
"Proximal fracture of the right radial bone," Qi Wentai added.
"Playing games, aren’t we? I was hoping to slack off a bit, but I’ll join you," Liu Banxia said helplessly.
It’s just a radial fracture, so there’s no need to call orthopedics yet. Qi Wentai mentioning it later indicates that the patient does not have an open fracture.
In this kind of situation, it’s enough to send Liu Banxia out.
"By the way, how’s the tibial comminuted fracture patient in orthopedics doing after the dressing change? Still using negative pressure suction?" Liu Banxia asked.
"Heard Doctor Wu talking about it, you handled it well. Currently, only fresh blood is coming out," Qi Wentai replied.
"Great, that means his suffering wasn’t in vain." Liu Banxia nodded with satisfaction.
When treating that patient, he was hard-headed about it. The results were quite good, which was very satisfactory.
At this moment, the sound of the ambulance came over and it stopped steadily.
"Patient is 33 years old, fracture of the distal right radius, head contusion, abdominal impact injury. Blood pressure 100/60, heart rate 100."
The paramedic who was pushing the patient down said.
"Rescue Room 1, have you contacted the family?" Miao Rui asked.
"Contacted them while in the ambulance, they are on their way," the paramedic replied.
"Besides the pain in your arm, do you feel dizzy or nauseous? Any severe pain elsewhere?" Miao Rui asked while pushing the gurney.
"Yes, there’s pain. It hurts a bit when I breathe," the patient said.
"Don’t worry, we’ll do a checkup right away." Miao Rui comforted.
"One, two, three, move the bed."
"I’ll examine the body, do an ECG, CBC, and blood cross-matching. Teacher Liu, please check the patient’s fracture injury."
With Miao Rui’s instructions, everyone quickly got busy.
Liu Banxia didn’t stay idle, carefully examining the patient’s fracture site. From his palpation, the problem wasn’t very severe.
"The fracture isn’t too serious, after an X-ray, a reduction should do, no need for internal fixation surgery," Liu Banxia said after examining.
Miao Rui nodded without speaking and carefully auscultated the patient.
"Let’s get a chest X-ray first. The breath sounds in the left lung are weak, and the patient reports breathing pain. I’m worried there might be a pneumothorax," Miao Rui said after putting down the stethoscope.
Everyone promptly moved aside.
"Prepare for chest tube insertion."
Looking at the chest condition displayed on the screen, Miao Rui said.
This is routine rescue for the emergency center. In other places, the emergency department might find it tricky. But for any of the six young doctors, it’s as easy as eating and drinking.
Intubation isn’t the most pleasant experience, especially when the patient is fully conscious. But to prevent further injury, it has to be dealt with on the spot.
Miao Rui’s technique was quite good, managing it with ease.
"Bring the ultrasound over, check the abdomen first, then do an X-ray for the fracture, and Teacher Liu can do the reduction directly," Miao Rui said.
"You do love bossing me around, don’t you? Don’t worry about your fracture, it’s a minor issue," Liu Banxia muttered, then reassured the patient.
He had been quite focused on the patient’s blood pressure just now, but seeing the blood draining from the chest, he understood the situation better.
"Teacher Liu, there’s a lot of fluid in the patient’s abdominal cavity, but it looks like there might not be any organ damage,"
Miao Rui said while doing the ultrasound.
Liu Banxia took a look, "Then let’s save some time. How did you get into the car accident? Seems like quite a fall too."
"Sigh...I was just trying to avoid an electric bike, and then I fell. Lucky me, otherwise, I would’ve been hit by the car...ah..."
Before he could finish, Liu Banxia directly set the fracture.
It was painful, so painful that sweat broke out on his forehead, more terrifying than the chest tube insertion.
"To save time, let’s splint it first and then take an X-ray," Liu Banxia said with a smile.
In urgent situations, the patient’s abdominal fluid accumulation is the most critical, so there’s no point wasting time on the fracture.
