The Entire Mountain Is My Hunting Ground
Chapter 626 Annihilating the Jackal Pack in One Battle
This was what set Black Tiger apart from the other hounds. He didn’t like to go for a killing bite; most of the time, he would bite his prey, give a hard tug, and then let go.
This time, however, Black Tiger flung the female jackal against a nearby poplar tree. The jackal was badly wounded and let out a wretched cry.
But this was just the beginning. The moment the female jackal slid from the tree to the ground, Black Tiger closed in, shoved his head under her hindquarters, and bit down.
A heart-rending shriek was heard, immediately followed by another.
With a bite and a tear, Black Tiger ripped open the flesh between the female jackal’s legs, and blood began to flow unceasingly.
The female jackal went berserk, twisting around and lunging for Black Tiger’s only good front leg, ready to bite.
‘She’s trying to lame his good leg!’
Black Tiger hastily let go and dodged aside. Then, he leaped forward again, once more clamping his jaws on the scruff of the female jackal’s neck before viciously shaking his head.
This revealed the inherent disadvantage of dogs: their bite force is weaker than that of jackals or wolves. Black Tiger failed to snap the female jackal’s neck with one bite, but his headshake still slammed her against the tree again.
As the female jackal fell, Black Tiger lowered his body, pushed his head forward, and used it to shove one of her hind legs aside. He opened his mouth and bit down again!
Black Tiger bit down, and the female jackal shrieked in agony. Black Tiger tore backward, and the female jackal shrieked again.
It was a mystery what Black Tiger had experienced in his youth to make him target that specific area. If he had bitten anywhere else, the jackal’s fur would have offered protection, and she might not have been so grievously injured.
But the place Black Tiger attacked was covered by only a thin layer of fine fur, offering almost zero protection.
This time, Black Tiger tore a chunk of flesh from between the female jackal’s legs.
Jackals are not large animals to begin with, and this female was particularly small and thin.
A palm-sized piece of skin was ripped from the female jackal’s underbelly by Black Tiger. This was no longer just a matter of bleeding.
Even for an animal as naturally ferocious as a jackal, the female could only lie crumpled on the ground, howling endlessly.
Seeing the female jackal had lost her ability to fight, Black Tiger turned and charged the Jackal King.
Big Fatty had bitten one of the Jackal King’s paws earlier, but the king was still fighting him now without giving an inch.
It wasn’t just him. Nearby, the two male jackals paired off against White Dragon and Flower Cat were also firmly holding the upper hand.
White Dragon and Flower Cat were both wounded, and not just in one place. Blood streamed down their bodies, but the two dogs continued to fight the jackals with all their might.
Black Tiger ignored White Dragon and Flower Cat for the moment, charging instead toward the rear of the Jackal King, who was locked in combat with Big Fatty.
As Black Tiger neared the Jackal King, he paused for a split second. The Jackal King sensed him. Still biting Big Fatty’s ear, he twisted his head to look at Black Tiger.
He saw Black Tiger lower his body, shove his head under the Jackal King’s hindquarters, and lift the king clean off the ground with his body.
The panicked Jackal King had never encountered such an attack. He was still thinking about trading injuries—ripping off one of Big Fatty’s ears first.
But in the next moment, Black Tiger showed the Jackal King that this was a trade he couldn’t afford.
Black Tiger tilted his head back, angled his jaw upward, and bit.
This bite missed the shaft, but it clamped down on the area connecting the shaft and testicles.
But this, too, was more than the Jackal King could bear.
With a piercing cry, the Jackal King released Big Fatty’s ear and twisted around to bite at Black Tiger’s back.
But Black Tiger, still biting the flesh, tore backward. The Jackal King’s body froze, his neck stretched out as he let out another agonizing scream.
The next second, Big Fatty tackled the Jackal King to the ground and viciously bit down on his neck. Big Fatty now had three wounds on his body, the most severe being his left ear, which the Jackal King had nearly torn completely off.
With its throat seized, the Jackal King could only kick at Big Fatty with all four paws. But it couldn’t budge Big Fatty’s immense weight.
And then, Black Tiger was coming over again.
Seeing the Jackal King on his back with all four paws in the air, Black Tiger showed no mercy this time. He closed in, forced his head between the jackal’s two hind legs, and took a vicious bite.
As Black Tiger wedged his head in, the Jackal King’s kicking hind legs were instantly forced apart. Before the Jackal King’s mind could even process it, his body had already reacted.
His body went rigid, all four limbs pushing straight down. A wave of agony washed over the Jackal King, so intense that he stopped resisting the bite on his throat from Big Fatty.
Wild jackals have short lifespans, not even reaching ten years.
But this Jackal King had experience fighting the Dog Gang. He had met dogs that went for the rear, that bit the rump, but he had never met a dog that aimed exclusively for his vitals.
Seeing their king in peril, the other two jackals immediately abandoned White Dragon and Flower Cat to come to his rescue.
Black Tiger turned to face them, coordinating with White Dragon and Flower Cat to surround the two male jackals. This time, Black Tiger couldn’t find an opportunity to strike at a vital spot. Once the two jackals teamed up, their coordination was superb; their attacks were sharp, and their defense was formidable. If one was attacked, the other would immediately counter-attack the hound threatening its partner.
All the while, Big Fatty kept his grip on the Jackal King’s throat, refusing to let go. Lately, from following Zhao Jun up the mountain, Big Fatty had grown more and more ferocious. His bites were more vicious, and he was developing a tendency to lock his jaw and never release.
Zhao Jun was desperately running up the mountain. He knew that in a fight of four hounds against four jackals, the odds of victory were almost zero. That was why he didn’t dare to delay for even a second.
But when he finally reached the battlefield, he found Big Fatty pinning down the Jackal King with a death grip, while Black Tiger, White Dragon, and Flower Cat were locked in a back-and-forth struggle with the other two jackals.
For a moment, Zhao Jun didn’t have time to look around. He just assumed that one of the jackals was missing, which was why his Dog Gang was able to hold their own against the remaining three.
But to him, this was the best possible outcome he could have hoped for.
Zhao Jun raised his rifle. He saw one jackal under a pincer attack from Black Tiger and Flower Cat, while the other was moving to rescue it.
