The Extra who regained his past life memories
Chapter 170 - amy’s birthday gift
I heard a knocking sound at my door.
I opened my eyes, still sleepy, and got out of bed. I rubbed my eyes before walking toward the door.
Then I opened it and looked outside.
My eyes went wide.
Luna was standing there with a slight smile on her face. She studied my appearance—messy hair, groggy eyes, and my overall sleepy look.
She observed all of it.
It wasn’t every day she got to see me like this.
I blinked and looked at her, my brain still processing the information.
Then it finally hit me.
Luna was standing right in front of me, laughing at my current appearance.
But I kept my cool and forced out,
"Ah, hi, Luna. Give me five minutes."
I immediately went back inside my room.
I could hear Luna’s laughter behind me, but I ignored it and quickly went into the washroom. I splashed some water on my face, changed into a new pair of clothes, and fixed my hair.
After making sure I looked completely fine, I came out of my room.
Luna was still standing in front of my room, waiting for me.
She smiled as soon as she saw me.
"Hmm, it seems you slept well."
I nodded.
"Hmm, yeah. I slept amazingly well."
I looked at her and said,
"Okay, let’s go for dinner. Follow me."
She nodded again, so I led the way.
"What are you doing after dinner, Luna?"
She thought for a moment. There wasn’t really anything else to do, so she directed the question back at me.
"What are you doing after dinner?"
I didn’t hide it and answered her directly.
"I plan to go to the library."
She raised an eyebrow and asked in a joking tone,
"Oh? What now? Are you going to become a bookworm?"
I glared at her.
"Who wants to be a bookworm? I hate studying. I’m going to check on something. It’s related to Amy’s birthday gift."
"I’m going to make something, so I need the knowledge to do it. After my class awakened, my comprehension has gone through the roof, so I’m sure I can figure it out."
Luna’s interest was piqued, so she asked,
"So, tell me. What are you going to make for Amy’s birthday?"
I smirked and got closer to her.
I whispered something into her ear.
She leaned closer to listen.
"It’s... a secret."
Luna looked annoyed.
"You..."
I just shrugged.
"If you want to know, come with me and figure it out."
She snorted stubbornly.
"Who even wants to know? Keep your secrets. Humph."
She puffed out her cheeks.
I looked at the sight, and my heart practically melted.
Ah, her pout is so adorable and deadly for me.
Then I casually added,
"Ah, what a waste. I organized a lot of orange juice and snacks for that. I guess I’ll have to eat and drink all of them myself."
Her ears perked up at that.
"Oh, really?"
Her eyes brightened several degrees.
I smirked.
Got you.
I nodded and took out an orange juice box to show her.
Her eyes shone as she tried to grab it, but I moved my hand away.
She looked at me with a hurt expression.
I looked at my hand.
Ah, I didn’t even use any power at all.
Then I realized she was faking it.
But I couldn’t give it to her yet, so I told her,
"Okay, okay. I’ll give it to you, but not now. First dinner, then snacks. Otherwise, I’ll get an earful from my mom."
She giggled at that. She could already imagine me getting scolded by my mom.
She extended her hand a little more, clearly wanting to see it.
I saw it and immediately put the orange juice into my storage.
"Don’t even think about it."
We entered the dining room while bickering with each other.
As soon as I entered, I greeted Mom, Amy, and Sister Elena, who were already sitting at the table.
They greeted me back, and Luna did the same to all of them.
Mom smiled and asked Luna,
"So, how is settling in going?"
Luna looked at Mom and replied,
"It went smoothly, Aunt Seraphina. Gray showed me many locations around the house."
Mom nodded and added,
"I heard from Astrid about your... work."
We both avoided her gaze and pretended like nothing had happened.
Then I spoke.
"It’s not our problem. The person in charge was the one who invited us, so we went because it looked like something fun."
Mom nodded with a small smile, and we all began eating.
After a moment, I added,
"Mom, I need to talk to you about something. I need some things for a little experiment."
Mom raised an eyebrow.
"Hmm? An experiment?"
I nodded.
Mom looked at me suspiciously.
"You aren’t trying to blow up the house, are you, son?"
I stared at Mom, who had a small smile on her face.
She then asked,
"All right. Is it something secret?"
I nodded.
Amy perked up.
"Hmm? What is it, brother? I can give you all the things you want. Just tell me."
I shook my head.
"No. This is something Mom or Astrid can help me with."
Amy looked at me suspiciously.
"What are you planning this time, brother? Making a boom and destroying the world or something?"
I glared at her.
"It’s none of your business. I’m going to make something incredible. You’ll see. Humph."
Amy looked amused.
She had no doubt that I could make something incredible, but how could she admit it so easily?
So she asked curiously,
"So, what are you going to make that’s so incredible, little brother?"
"It’s a secret. You’ll see in the future."
She raised both hands in surrender.
"Okay, okay. Whatever you say."
Luna looked at the whole interaction with a smile. Of course, she enjoyed these kinds of moments.
Elena did as well, and as soon as our conversation ended, she started another one with Amy.
Amy was getting ready to become the successor, and Elena was helping her.
The dinner continued like that, with harmonious conversations spreading across the dining table.
I talked to Mom about the duel we had today and explained each power I used during the duel.
I kept my trump card to myself, but I never hid things from Mom.
Eventually, dinner was over.
Amy and Elena left because they had their own things to do.
I looked at Mom and said,
"Mom, about that thing I want..."
Mom looked at me and raised an eyebrow. She was curious about what I needed and why I was keeping it a secret.
As for Luna staying, Mom knew that if I wanted to hide something from her, I wouldn’t have started the conversation while she was in the room.
So she listened to what I had to say.
"I want to learn about making artifacts, like Space Rings."
She looked at me in surprise.
"Artifacts?"
I nodded.
"Yeah. I want to make a Space Ring that has a space where time doesn’t flow."
She listened and asked,
"Why do you need something like that? You already have the Space element, so making one should be possible for you. But why?"
I nodded and answered matter-of-factly,
"It’s for Amy’s birthday present. Keep it a secret from her."
Mom understood the reason for all the secrecy, so she nodded.
"Hmm. That’s a simple matter to arrange, and I understand why you want to keep it a secret."
"So, what do you want? All the knowledge about them in books, or someone to come and teach you?"
I thought for a moment before saying,
"Book knowledge is fine. I want to experiment and test them myself."
"If I learn from someone, it might limit my imagination. I don’t like that."
Mom nodded.
"That’s a good choice for now. Go to the library and read the books about them. Tomorrow, I’ll give you all the resources you need. There’s also an artifact room where you can try your experiments."
Then Mom asked,
"Why did you choose a Space Ring as a gift?"
I shrugged.
"She is a glutton and always likes my Space Storage, so I thought, why not make one for herself and give it to her?"
"And she’s going to the academy next year, so she’ll need this more than ever."
Mom nodded with a thoughtful smile.
"That’s so thoughtful of you."
I smiled at that.
On the side, Luna listened to everything silently.
She understood all the secrecy as well, and a small smile appeared on her face.
She could already imagine all the experiments they could do together.
The results didn’t matter to her.
She liked the process.
And she liked the birthday gift idea as well.
It’s a practical and good thing to have.
Besides sister amy desire for one so this is the best birthday gift for her.
Then we discuss more information about that and finally end the dinner and left.
