Chapter 169 - settling-in

When I offered her my pancakes she look at them and saw the beautiful plate full of pancakes and whipped cream.

Her appetite grew from one look at that.

Her eyes brightened.

"Really?"

I nodded.

"Of course. Here."

She didn’t refuse. She took the knife, cut my pancake tower, and moved half of it onto her own plate.

Amy watched my actions with a small, warm smile. She then cut into her own pancakes and looked at the inside with delight and satisfaction.

Steam rose from them as she took a bite, making sure to include everything in it—the whipped cream, pancake, chocolate syrup, and even a small slice of strawberry.

She enjoyed the bite, savoring all the different flavors, before asking,

"So, how did showing her around the house turn into this?"

Luna didn’t reply. She was still eating her new-flavored pancakes with adorable expressions.

I coughed and said,

"It went like this. First, I showed her my room, and then the secret places I go to slack off that even you don’t know about."

Amy’s eye twitched, but she listened.

"So I continued. Then I showed her the training ground and my new technique."

"Then we found a recruitment test for our family. They seemed to be around our age, so we joined as well."

Elena almost got stuck with her food in the middle of her bite.

Amy looked at us speechlessly.

"You two went to join that?"

I shrugged.

"Of course. It looked fun, so we joined the exam."

Amy asked with a twitching mouth,

"So, did you pass?"

I scratched my head awkwardly.

"Ahh... about that. After my exam was over and they began to end the examination, Astrid came, so I just moved away from there with Luna."

Amy couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry at the situation.

I didn’t notice it and continued telling the story while Amy and Elena listened to everything I described.

Finally, Amy nodded.

"It seems you two had lots of fun."

I nodded while eating my pancakes.

Then Amy said,

"Okay. After you finish your food, let’s go and show Luna her new room."

I nodded and sped up my eating pace. Soon, I finished all my food.

Then I went and washed my plate before putting it back where it belonged.

The others did the same, and Amy led the way.

She asked about my new technique, so I showed her my Space Barrier. She tried to attack it with a fireball, but it didn’t break.

Her eyes widened.

"Wow, that’s amazing. What else can it do?"

I showed her how I could walk through the air by stepping on Space. I made myself as light as possible and practically floated through the air.

Luna looked at me with longing. She wanted to do that too.

Amy and Elena looked at me in amazement.

Amy said,

"I knew you were a magical genius when you created your first spell, but this is something entirely unique, Gray. This technique has unlimited possibilities."

I nodded.

"Hmm. I plan to make this Space completely mine, and after that, I’ll try to change Space itself."

"But for that, I’m still far too lacking."

She nodded, and we continued walking.

We went to a room close to ours. We had many empty rooms, so finding a room for Luna was no problem. But it had to be a room that suited her. We couldn’t just let her stay in any random room.

Amy opened the door to a room.

It was a completely furnished bedroom decorated in blue and white.

Amy looked at Luna.

"How about this? If you don’t like it, we can arrange a new one."

I nodded as well.

"Yeah. If you don’t like it, we can get Amy’s room."

I said it with a chuckle.

Amy hit my head without hesitation.

"You brat! You dare?"

I rubbed my head.

Luna laughed at that and said,

"No, I like this room. My favorite color is blue."

Amy nodded with a smile.

"Elena told me about it. That’s why I made this room like this."

Luna’s eyes brightened, and she nodded.

"Thank you, Sister Amy."

Then Amy looked at me before asking Luna,

"Do you know what this brat’s favorite color is?"

Luna shook her head. She was curious as well.

"What is it?"

Amy smiled and replied,

"It’s black. This brat even tried to make his room completely black. I intervened and convinced him to go with gray."

"Didn’t you notice his sword is mostly black?"

Luna remembered all the details about me, like my choice of clothes, and most of the things in my room were clean and had many small details that gave away my preference for black.

So she nodded.

"Hmm. I saw many things that hinted at it."

Amy smiled and nodded.

"Okay, then I’ll let you settle into your new room. If you want anything, don’t hesitate to go to this brat. He has any and all things a person might need. Even I don’t know all the things he has in his Space Storage."

Elena laughed at that, but then Amy got serious for a moment.

"But if you need something to get done, don’t hesitate to come to me or go to your sisters."

Elena looked at herself.

"Me? But you’re the host here."

"You should be the one to take care all that’s"

Amy gave her an annoyed look.

"It doesn’t matter. If she wants something, it’s your duty as well."

"She is your young sister as well so she is always your responsibility"

Then Elena said.

"fine.."

but anyone who know her know even without that reminder she do her best to make sure her sister is comfortable.

Luna listened to them and nodded.

Then we all left her room, but before we left, I stopped for a second and secretly placed an orange juice box in her room without letting anyone notice.

Then I went out as well.

I looked at Amy and Elena and waved goodbye.

"I’m going to take a nap. Goodbye, Amy, Sister Elena."

Elena nodded and waved goodbye, but Amy, as always, looked at me and said,

"There you go, slacking off again, Gray."

I just grinned, waved at them once again, and left for my room.

I looked around for a moment, then went to the washroom and took a shower.

All the exhaustion faded away while I was taking the shower.

Then I put on some comfortable clothes and jumped into my bed.

It had been a long while since I’d slept in my own bed.

I fell into a deep sleep and slept like a log.

When it came time for dinner, someone came to wake me up.

Right now, I wasn’t even sure who it was.

Luna’s POV

I settled into my room after Gray, Sister Amy, and my sister left.

I closed the door and looked around the room.

It was clean, with blue walls outlined in white.

Then I looked around more and saw many things placed around the room.

One thing caught my eyes.

I went over to look at it.

It was an orange juice box.

It was still cold.

I smiled.

It must be Gray. He is the only one who keeps bringing me orange juice like this.

I took it and put the straw in before beginning to enjoy it with my eyes closed.

I really liked this taste.

After I finished it, I felt refreshed.

It was fresh orange juice. I didn’t know where Gray got his hands on them, but they were really tasty.

As I remembered him, a small smile subconsciously appeared on my face.

I thought about all the nonsensical things he had done throughout the day.

And the pancakes...

They were really tasty.

He remembered to bring me his plate as well and shared it without the slightest hint of unwillingness. Quite the opposite—he had an expectant look on his face, as if he wanted to see my reaction.

No matter how much I tried to figure him out, I couldn’t.

I knew he wasn’t a harmless person. If someone crossed him, he wouldn’t simply let it go until he made sure to teach that person a lesson.

Thinking about those things, I organized my belongings, taking them out of my Space Ring and putting my clothes in the closet.

I also remembered all the maids’ reactions when Gray returned.

It didn’t look like a distant greeting. They genuinely cared about him, and he treated them well too.

I finally organized the room completely.

It was already practically clean, so there wasn’t much to do. I only had to put away my belongings.

Then I took a shower, changed into a new set of clothes, and looked at the bed.

I decided to take a nap.

I was tired from all the events of the day—the travel, the fights, and the sightseeing.

So I went to bed and soon slipped into a deep sleep.
