Chapter 122: Chapter 122: Guard Against Fire, Theft, and Female Disciples

Zhang Yun had grown accustomed to Ouyang Mingruo’s exaggerated theatrics over the past two days. He figured her current behavior was just a prank to relieve stress.

While he was playing along with her act, he didn’t expect her to not only pinch his chin but also press her lips directly against his!

It was like being struck by lightning! Zhang Yun froze completely. "Am I actually being force-kissed by a girl?" he thought.

This was so unexpected that he didn’t react at all. Combined with his complete lack of experience, by the time he wanted to return the favor, Ouyang Mingruo had already pulled away and sat down on the bed.

Zhang Yun’s heart pounded wildly. "Is this happening so fast?" he wondered.

"Um... this might not be a good idea. I’m not mentally prepared," he said. "But that’s not important. The main issue is that we don’t have any other preparations. It’s not safe. Running out to buy some right now would totally ruin the mood. Plus, the others are still downstairs..."

Ouyang Mingruo threw a pillow at him in exasperation. "What are you thinking about? Is your head full of mush?"

Her heart had been racing just a moment ago, too. After taking the initiative, she had tried hard to suppress her shyness and maintain a domineering, mature aura. She had even prepared a few bossy lines, but she hadn’t expected Zhang Yun’s imagination to run so wild.

"Weren’t we going to do... you know?" Zhang Yun walked over to the bed. Never mind his mushy brain; the imagery in his head was just too vivid.

"Go away!" Ouyang Mingruo pretended to kick him. "I just stamped my seal on you. You’re my man now. When I’m not around, you have to constantly remind yourself to uphold male virtue. Don’t go fooling around, hear me?"

Zhang Yun shook his head. "Male virtue? Heh, just stamping a seal doesn’t count. I need to drive a pile!"

"Drive a pile?" Ouyang Mingruo had never seen pile driving, but she could vaguely guess what he meant.

"It’s when you take a wooden stake and thrust it deep into the dirt. That’s called driving a pile..."

"Pfft! Shameless!" Ouyang Mingruo pointed at the door. "Get out!"

"Hey! Be reasonable, this is my room." Zhang Yun simply walked over and sat on the edge of the bed.

"What do you want?" Ouyang Mingruo stared at him but didn’t inch away at all.

Zhang Yun nodded. "You."

Ouyang Mingruo was utterly baffled. She felt like she couldn’t keep up with this guy’s train of thought, but she was pretty sure his mind was in the gutter.

"I’m going to scream for help," she warned.

Zhang Yun laughed. "Go ahead and scream! They’re my disciples. Even if they want to enjoy the drama, would they dare come up? Besides, who was just claiming to be their master’s wife? As for my dad, he’d be thrilled. He’ll just pretend he didn’t hear a thing."

Ouyang Mingruo suddenly smiled too. "Fine! I was worried about leaving you anyway, so we might as well seal the deal. Get on top and do the work yourself!"

With that, she lay flat on the bed.

Zhang Yun was just running his mouth; he had no real intention of doing anything. Seeing her lie down like that actually made him feel guilty, prompting him to glance nervously at the window. If Xiuxun were in her room right now, would she be able to see this?

"Don’t be like this. I’m not that kind of person," he said.

A faint smile appeared on Ouyang Mingruo’s face. She knew for a fact that Zhang Yun wasn’t that kind of person, otherwise she wouldn’t have dared to sleep in the same room with him last night.

"Well then! I gave you a chance, man, and you failed to grasp it. You can’t expect me to strip you naked, can you?"

"I don’t have time for your nonsense!" Zhang Yun stood up. "I’m warning you, don’t play with fire, or you’ll get eaten alive."

"Bring it on!" Ouyang Mingruo hooked her finger with a cheeky grin. "I told you, you’re the man I’ve set my sights on. You can’t escape the palm of my hand!"

Zhang Yun opened the door just in time to see Fu Yudie coming upstairs. She was just walking up to the door.

Right then, a voice drifted over from behind him. "I’ll let you off the hook this time, but next time I’ll definitely sleep you into submission!"

Peeking past Zhang Yun’s figure, Fu Yudie saw Ouyang Mingruo lying on the bed. Hearing those words, she couldn’t help but blush. "Is Master fleeing from battle?" she thought. "Next time, sleep into submission..."

"What is it?" Zhang Yun put on a stern face.

Fu Yudie stammered, "Um... Master... they asked me to ask Miss Ouyang... if they should drive the cars to go get gas first..."

Just a moment ago, Ma Yuming and the others had raised the question with a straight face, claiming it was inconvenient for them to come upstairs and that it would be more appropriate for her, a girl, to ask Ouyang Mingruo. So, she had come up.

Now she understood! They knew full well that they’d stumble into an awkward scene and were afraid of upsetting their master, which was why they had sent her as the sacrificial lamb!

Before Zhang Yun could speak, Ouyang Mingruo agreed from inside the room.

"Go ahead! The keys are downstairs. Fill up your car too, and I’ll reimburse everything later. This is perfect; Zhang Yun and I can chat a little longer..."

"Yes!"

Fu Yudie acknowledged the order and fled in a panic, her face flushed and her heart pounding. "Are they really just going to chat?" she wondered. "She’s probably going to drag Master back inside and continue sleeping him into submission!"

Zhang Yun turned around and shot Ouyang Mingruo a glare. "Are you having fun?"

"Why the resentful look? People who don’t know any better would think I did something terrible to you!" Ouyang Mingruo giggled and hooked her finger again. "I don’t know where the nearest gas station is anyway. They have to take turns showering, so the ones who finish first can go get gas. Doesn’t that save time?"

"That’s not it! I mean you purposely said those... ambiguous things in front of Die." Helpless, Zhang Yun simply closed the door. If he left it open and she deliberately screamed, it would be even harder to explain.

Ouyang Mingruo crossed her legs, looking thoroughly pleased with herself. "Guard against fire, theft, and best friends. You don’t know my best friends, so I have to guard against fire, theft, and female disciples."

Zhang Yun frowned. "Now you’re crossing a line!"

"As long as a girl is decent-looking, if she takes the initiative, would you men ever refuse?" Ouyang Mingruo asked, delivering a piercing question.

"I’m not that kind of person!"

"Right, you’re not that kind of person. You’re the kind of person who wouldn’t even refuse an ugly girl!"

The two of them continued their meaningless bickering. It felt both like lovers quarreling and old friends roasting each other. Ouyang Mingruo thoroughly enjoyed teasing Zhang Yun like this.

A while later, Zhang Yun heard the rapid THUMP THUMP THUMP of footsteps hurrying up the stairs. The heavy tread didn’t belong to his dad or Fu Yudie; it had to be one of his three disciples.

He immediately opened the door. "What is it?"

The person rushing up was Zhao Ye. Upon seeing Zhang Yun, he immediately cried out, "Master, something happened!"

"What happened? Why are you in such a panic?" Zhang Yun was a young man himself, but whenever they called him Master, he would unconsciously adopt a calm, steady demeanor.

"Yuming and Die went to get gas. Die was driving Miss Ouyang’s car. They hadn’t gotten far out of the village when they got into an accident. Another car rammed them, flipping their vehicle into the river!"

Hearing this, Zhang Yun was shocked and quickly looked back into the room. Ouyang Mingruo had already sat up. As their eyes met, they both understood exactly what had happened!

It was the same people from last night!

Whether they had never gone far or had just made a comeback, they had been waiting outside the village all along, finding the perfect angle by the river. Their goal was to wait for Ouyang Mingruo to leave and stage another car accident to knock her into the river!

She had been rescued once, but would she be so lucky a second time? They were still determined to kill Ouyang Mingruo!

Earlier, the assailants had identified the car and seen a girl driving, mistaking her for Ouyang Mingruo.
