Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Go to Hell

Zhang Yun immediately instructed in a low voice, "Stay at home. Lock the doors and close the curtains!"

"Be careful!" Ouyang Mingruo didn’t waste any words.

Zhang Fu had gone out to work right after Zhang Yun returned. Zhang Yun called over Zhao Ye and Xu Jin, who was only halfway through his shower, and locked the front door just in case this was a ploy to lure them away from the house. Three people on two motorcycles quickly sped out of the village.

"You guys go to the scene and save Die! I’ll chase after the perpetrator!" Zhang Yun commanded.

"Understood!"

Xu Jin and Zhao Ye had only been here a few times, whereas Zhang Yun was a local who knew the surrounding environment like the back of his hand. The enemy had definitely been preparing for half the day. Since it was inconvenient to get out of the car and strike in broad daylight, they chose to ram the car into the river instead.

A crash! A plunge! Drowning!

It was the exact same method as last time, using triple insurance to stage an accidental death. Even if the authorities investigated, it would be treated as a hit-and-run, not murder. The previous incident occurred on the highway where it was inconvenient to stop. Theoretically, it was highly unlikely for anyone to survive being knocked down a hillside, allowing the perpetrators to leave with peace of mind.

This time was different. The environment allowed them to observe from a distance to confirm whether the mission was complete. Given their previous failure, the employer behind the scenes would demand absolute certainty.

Zhang Yun pondered the terrain in his mind. He recalled that at a bend in the river ahead, one could easily see the bridge. After hitting the car and fleeing, the perpetrators wouldn’t need to stay at the scene; they only had to wait at that bend to monitor the situation.

After leaving the village, the motorcycles accelerated and quickly arrived at the river. Ouyang Mingruo’s car could be seen flipped over into the water below. Xu Jin’s car was parked by the bridge. Ma Yuming had rushed down to rescue them after making a phone call, so the current situation remained unclear. Villagers working nearby had also hurried over to help after noticing the accident.

Zhang Yun didn’t stop, speeding right past. Taking a sharp turn, he soon spotted a car parked by the side of the road. It was fully intact, entirely different from the hit-and-run vehicle.

It aligned perfectly with his prediction, which meant it couldn’t be a coincidence. Furthermore, the license plate matched the city of both Ouyang Mingruo’s car and the vehicle from last night. A person sat in the backseat of the car, while another man stood on a dirt mound just off the road, gazing intently toward the bridge.

"Is there a problem, friend?" Seeing Zhang Yun park his motorcycle next to the vehicle, the person inside rolled down the window. It was a slightly chubby middle-aged man, asking with a polite smile.

Zhang Yun didn’t answer. Instead, he threw a direct punch right at the middle-aged man’s face!

BAM!

Before his fist even connected, the car door slammed violently into him! Zhang Yun hadn’t wasted a single word, but the other party’s friendly greeting had been a deliberate distraction. The heavy impact of the car door against his leg brought a surge of intense pain. Normally, it would have knocked Zhang Yun down, trapping him under his motorcycle while the man casually stepped out to stomp on his head.

Unfortunately for them, Zhang Yun’s strength far exceeded the middle-aged man’s estimation!

Despite the agonizing pain in his leg, Zhang Yun held his ground firmly, his fist continuing its forward trajectory! The middle-aged man had just been preparing to step out when he took the punch dead center on his face. The sheer force of the blow, which was completely beyond his expectations, sent him reeling backward into his seat.

The man on the dirt mound chuckled, then crouched and leaped toward the edge of the road to assist.

Right at that moment, a terrifying and unimaginable scene unfolded before him. Zhang Yun planted his foot firmly on the ground, grabbed his motorcycle, and hurled it straight at him! Zhang Yun was riding his family’s old motorcycle, which was much lighter than the ones the thugs had used before. With one swift motion, he flung it right over the roof of the car and into the air!

By the time the man on the dirt mound processed the sight, he was already mid-leap. Unable to stop or dodge, he could only watch in sheer horror as the heavy machinery crashed toward him. The dirt mound was separated from the road by a ditch barely a meter wide. Had he landed his jump, the two of them could have double-teamed Zhang Yun. Instead, he was violently smashed by the flying motorcycle while still in mid-air. He didn’t even fall into the ditch; the impact blasted both him and the bike all the way back onto the dirt mound.

After his miscalculation and taking a punch to the face, the middle-aged man realized he was too constrained inside the car to fight properly. Without hesitation, he pulled out his trump card. Witnessing Zhang Yun toss a motorcycle with ease, he drew a gun and fired from inside the car without a second thought!

BANG!

As the gunshot rang out, Zhang Yun vanished! He had literally disappeared, not fallen down!

A shiver ran down the middle-aged man’s spine as he wondered if Instant Teleportation was actually real. He quickly whipped his head around, but there was no one on the other side of the car. He looked back, but there was no one behind him either!

There were only two blind spots left: under the car, or on the roof. However, it was impossible to squeeze under the car’s low chassis, so he had to be on the roof! He assumed that his opponent was already lying in wait, ready to deliver a lethal kick the second he popped his head out. The middle-aged man held his breath and aimed his gun at the roof. The moment he heard a footstep to confirm the exact location, he would blast it without hesitation!

A moment later, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Zhang Yun appearing beside the car once again. By the time he turned his head to look, Zhang Yun let out an explosive shout and flipped the entire car over, wedging it firmly into the adjacent ditch.

Without a seatbelt to secure him, the middle-aged man tumbled wildly inside the cabin. Let alone aiming, the gun flew straight out of his grip.

"Go to hell!" Zhang Yun jumped in through the open door and stomped both feet brutally onto the middle-aged man’s head and face!

"Spare... spare my life!" Before the middle-aged man could even react, he was stomped into a dizzy stupor, frantically begging for mercy.

Standing inside the overturned car, Zhang Yun looked down at him. "One more stomp, and I’ll snap your neck!"

"Calm down! Calm down! We have no personal grudge against you; we’re just doing this for the money... You’re the guy from last night, aren’t you? My brothers have a lot of respect for you. I came here today wanting to talk to you. Are you interested in joining us? I’ll give you all the profits from this job!"

Zhang Yun first picked up the gun. "Unlock your phone and remove the passcode!"

Staring at the downward-pointing gun barrel, the middle-aged man obediently complied and handed the phone over.

"I only broke the legs of those guys last night. You’re their boss, right? You didn’t heed my warning and came to attack again. Was your next step going to be taking revenge on me?"

"No, no, we’re just completing a mission... It’s about business reputation. We are vastly inferior to your skills, so we would never seek revenge..."

"How do you contact the employer?!"

"I’m sorry, but that’s a trade secret. We pride ourselves on our reputation..."

"Go to hell!" Too lazy to interrogate him further, Zhang Yun kicked him squarely in the head, knocking him out cold.

There was no one passing by at the moment. Even the people who had been working in the distant fields had all been drawn to the bridge to help with the rescue. Zhang Yun went over to the dirt mound, dragged his motorcycle back onto the road, and stuffed the unconscious man who had been smashed by the bike into the overturned car as well.

He popped open the gas tank, shoved a handful of straw inside, and lit it on fire!

After he retreated to a safe distance, the gas tank of the overturned car wedged in the ditch exploded, engulfing the vehicle in roaring flames!
