The Fantastic Little Farmer
Chapter 86: Villagers of Gao Village
Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Villagers of Gao Village
"It—It has nothing to do with us..."
"Those are the people from Gao Village! They told us to cause trouble and said they would come out to back us up as soon as things blew up."
"They must have heard the explosion and rushed over. We didn’t call them!"
The eighteen thugs at the scene were all panicking. Originally, when they were chased and beaten by the four people, they realized the gap in strength but still felt they had been ambushed. They thought that as long as they had more people, they could still fight back. Therefore, they had shouted for backup, and some had even sent messages for help.
However, Zhang Yun single-handedly throwing a dozen motorcycles into a pile had completely terrified them!
Xu Jin and the other three only gave them the impression of people who had studied Martial Arts, but Zhang Yun was a true master, practically a Superman! Now that the people from Gao Village had actually come out to back them up, they were afraid Zhang Yun would blow them up in a fit of rage, so they hurried to clear their names. The explosion just now had shaken the entire town and its markets. It made perfect sense that the nearby Gao Village could hear it and rush over.
"How did the explosion happen?" Zhang Yun pointed behind him.
Everyone instantly fell silent, too scared to make a sound. Then, one quick-witted thug immediately spoke up, "We were street racing and accidentally crashed into each other!"
"Right, right! It’s all our fault for street racing!"
"We crashed into a pile, and it exploded!"
"And you were the one who saved us!"
At this point, they only cared about keeping their lives; who needed dignity? Not only did they erase the fact that they were beaten, but they also hailed Zhang Yun and his group as their saviors who rescued them from the exploding motorcycles!
Zhang Yun nodded. "Then get up. Help put out the fire. Maybe you can still salvage your motorcycles."
They all forced bitter smiles. How the hell could they salvage anything? The bikes had been blown to pieces. However, they didn’t dare voice their complaints and hurriedly helped each other up to extinguish the flames.
Zhang Yun glanced back at Zhang Youcai. "Lead them to put out the fire!" He then took a few steps forward, blocking a group of people rushing in from the factory’s main gate.
His four apprentices quickly moved behind him, standing in a neat row.
The previous battle was supposed to be their moment to shine. Each of them had fought brilliantly, hoping to leave a good impression on Zhang Yun, especially their junior martial sister, Fu Yudie, who didn’t have the money to pay her tuition fees. Four people easily defeating eighteen was already a highly spectacular performance.
Yet, the moment Zhang Yun made his move, he completely overshadowed them. It was simple! Brutal! Domineering! Badass!
Xu Jin and the other two had all been thrown into a fish pond by Zhang Yun before, so they had some understanding of their master’s tremendous strength. Fu Yudie, on the other hand, had only heard their stories. This was her first time seeing Zhang Yun in action with her own eyes, and she was instantly filled with absolute awe! Following closely behind him as they faced the large mob of charging villagers, the four of them felt an exhilarating thrill, as if they were marching onto a battlefield.
Zhang Youcai had already called for the people inside the factory and those in the cars to come down and grab fire extinguishers to fight the blaze. He himself, however, ran over to Zhang Yun’s side.
He just couldn’t put his mind at ease!
This kid, Zhang Yun, had just said he was going to make a big scene. Zhang Youcai thought he just meant beating up those dozen thugs a bit more severely, but he ended up causing a massive explosion. If he went on to injure the people from Gao Village, this situation would become incredibly difficult to handle.
Getting a clear look at the dense crowd swarming in, Zhang Youcai broke into a cold sweat. Gao Village had brought dozens of people! It seemed they had lost their patience and wanted to escalate things today. These people were holding shovels, hoes, and the like. Though they looked like random farming tools grabbed in a hurry, they could actually serve as Weapons to beat people, or be used to smash cars and trash the factory at any moment.
"What’s going on here?!" the young man leading the charge shouted. Sensing something was wrong, he skidded to a halt and thrust his shovel firmly into the ground.
Zhang Yun sneered. The man seemed to be asking them, but in reality, he was questioning the thugs, trying to figure out the situation.
Unfortunately for him, the eighteen thugs were already terrified of Zhang Yun. They were currently huddled around the burning motorcycles. They didn’t dare get too close in case of another explosion, nor did they dare turn their heads, for fear of having to answer the Gao Village people’s questions.
Unconsciously, Zhang Youcai had begun to place great importance on Zhang Yun’s opinions and attitude. Looking at the large crowd from Gao Village, his first reaction wasn’t to speak up, but rather to brief Zhang Yun on the "enemy situation."
"The one who just spoke is Gao Jun, Gao Weimin’s nephew. He’s always been their public ringleader. The very tall guy next to him is Gao Tie, the brutish and intimidating type..."
Gao Weimin was the current chief of Gao Village. He handled the negotiations, applied pressure, and planned things from behind the scenes. He never dirtied his own hands with brawls or shouting matches, nor did he let his children get involved. Gao Jun was someone he trusted, while Gao Tie was easy to control. The rest of the villagers were just stirred up to follow blindly.
"Boss Zhang, did your factory blow up?" Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, Gao Jun dragged his shovel forward, his face dark.
Before Zhang Youcai could reply, Zhang Yun spoke up. "None of your damn business!"
"What did you just say?!" Gao Tie roared instantly.
The other villagers who followed him immediately joined in the shouting. "What did you say?! Say it again if you have the guts!"
"I said, it’s none of your damn business!" Zhang Yun shot back. "Who allowed you to come in?"
Gao Jun could already tell what was happening. Since Zhang Youcai wasn’t speaking, he was clearly letting someone else handle it. Gao Jun immediately stepped up to confront Zhang Yun directly.
"You idiot! Get one thing straight first. This is Gao Village’s land!"
"That’s right! This is our territory!" everyone chimed in immediately.
The eighteen thugs cautiously stole a glance over their shoulders but didn’t dare voice any support. Taking the fire extinguishers handed over by the factory workers, they busied themselves with putting out the fire instead.
"This plot of land was rented to Boss Zhang for his factory! In the past, this would be like a concession, and nowadays, it’s like an embassy... Ugh! Look at you uneducated hicks, you wouldn’t understand even if I explained it! Let’s put it this way: if you rent your house out to someone else, even if you are the landlord, entering without permission is still considered trespassing on private property!"
Gao Jun only managed a single sentence before Zhang Yun rapidly fired off a whole barrage of words. Between stating facts and throwing out various analogies at lightning speed, the people of Gao Village were left trying to process his words, completely unable to counterattack in time.
Fu Yudie was also extremely excited. She whispered in awe from behind, "I didn’t expect Master’s hands to be so skilled in Kung Fu, and his mouth to be just as sharp!"
"Of course! Would we lie to you?"
"The first time I met Master, he scolded my employer until she ran away..."
Although Zhang Yun was busy roasting Gao Jun and his crew, it hardly required much of his energy, leaving him with plenty of leisure to eavesdrop on the conversation behind him.
He thought, "What kind of nonsense is that? What do you mean by my hands being so skilled in Kung Fu and my mouth being just as sharp? Anyone who doesn’t know better would think I’m Master Kato..."
"Who the hell are you? I’m talking to Boss Zhang. Do you have any right to speak here?" Gao Jun’s brain wasn’t as quick as Zhang Yun’s, but he immediately stopped trying to decipher the analogies and directly questioned Zhang Yun’s identity. "You’re just a filthy laborer. How many pennies do you even earn? Is it your turn to run your mouth?"
As soon as Gao Jun spoke, Gao Tie stepped forward and shoved his hands straight at Zhang Yun. "Piss off! You pretty boy, get the hell out of my way!"
Before he could even touch Zhang Yun, a foot flew out and kicked his hands away. Then, another foot slammed into his chest, kicking him back several paces!
"Do you even deserve to lay a hand on my master?" Fu Yudie landed firmly in front of Zhang Yun.
