The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 2968: Are You Traitors Bought Off by the Demon Race?

  • Next Chapter

The raging storm gradually subsided, and Snow Zane’s senses swept across the land, instantly discovering the positions of the three attackers.

“Bring them back!”

The Great Demons rushed out immediately, without any hesitation.

Carson Flores had previously stated, “Rewards for merit and punishment for mistakes,” and he truly delivered. The Black Dragon and other Great Demons who had proactively stepped up to help Carson fight before received generous rewards.

If they were free beings, these rewards might not seem so generous, but with their lives in Carson’s hands, unable to control their own fate, Carson still honored his promise.

Since Carson fulfilled his promises, it meant that those who performed most outstandingly would truly gain their freedom if they earned enough merit!

They were not fools. Watching Carson’s strength grow day by day, with two Quasi-Saints by his side, when should they exert effort if not now?

When Carson becomes stronger, to the point where he scarcely needs their help, earning merits then would be much harder.

In plain terms, exerting full strength now is akin to providing coal during a snowstorm; exerting strength later can only be seen as adding flowers to brocade.

Just like today, stopping the massive destructive power of the three Immortal Destruction Bombs, protecting Carson who was undergoing the Tribulation Crossing undisturbed, this is indeed a solid merit!

The twenty Great Demons were very grateful for those three unlucky intruders who caused trouble. Without their surprise attack, how could they have earned merit today!

The Great Demons had all risked their lives earlier, and many were injured from the explosion shockwave, but it didn’t matter. Being injured was even more credit!

I have shed blood for my master, I have been wounded for my master!

Soon, the three intruding James family members were in a miserable state, their robes torn to shreds, covered in blood, with much of their flesh missing, and one was even missing half a hand.

They were at the epicenter of the explosion; though they worked together to save their lives, they were seriously injured and had no time to escape, captured without any resistance.

Snow Zane didn’t deal with them, just let the Great Demons guard them, then turned around, looking at Carson Flores in the sky, madly absorbing spiritual energy with a surging aura.

How to deal with them was Carson’s business. Her job was only to protect Carson’s safety; the rest was not in her concern.

The sky’s spiritual energy was absorbed completely by Carson, and as the tribulation clouds dispersed, sunlight pierced through again, scattering golden light. Carson successfully broke through and officially entered the ranks of Middle Grade Great Land Prime Immortals, getting closer to the peak of the Immortal Path.

Carson descended, landing in front of Snow Zane, smiling: “Senior, you’ve worked hard!”

Snow Zane smiled slightly: “Your breakthrough was too easy, with no danger or surprises, hard to get excited watching.”

Carson laughed: “Isn’t smooth better? Danger implies risk, and I don’t want any accidents.”

Snow Zane nodded toward the three behind him: “I’ll leave them to you.”

Carson’s gaze fell on the three, and his eyes turned cold: “Alright, I’ll handle it!”

Carson walked up to the three, asking in a calm tone: “Tell me, about your background…”

The three from the James family were terrified, how did things develop to this stage?

Clearly a sure-win situation, how did it suddenly turn around? Carson smoothly broke through, while they became prisoners?

Seeing the three remain silent, Carson calmly said: “Even if you hide well, you are still Prime Immortals, and probably Superior Grade, people of significant status. If I take you back to the War God Mansion for questioning, surely someone will know.”

Pausing, Carson sneered coldly: “Now it’s wartime. I am captain of the Ninth Team Third Squad of the First Legion. Having just made great contributions to the Human Race, and you suddenly assassinated me, I have every reason to suspect you and possibly your entire family have been bought by the Demon Race and ordered to assassinate me by their command…”

Previously, although the three panicked, they gritted their teeth and remained silent. But upon hearing Carson’s latter words, they instantly panicked.

If they were truly labeled as traitors bought by the Demon Race, their entire family would be doomed!

“We are not traitors!”

“Don’t speak nonsense, we haven’t been bought!”

“We just wanted to kill you, because if we didn’t, you’d eventually take revenge on us!”

Carson raised an eyebrow: “Eventually take revenge on you?”

Carson’s gaze swept over the three, then stayed on a bloodied face.

The face was not the same as the one in memory, but the voice was familiar, and the figure was similar.

Carson coldly asked: “Are you the middle-aged man who ambushed me years ago?”

The man’s face changed slightly, gritted his teeth, but didn’t deny it, because at this moment, denying was meaningless.

Carson’s gaze swept over the three, smiling: “You three are all James family members. Guessing that Brecken James fell into my hands, exposing your family, you knew I’d eventually come for you, so you decided to strike first, eliminating me while I was undergoing Tribulation Crossing, settling the issue once and for all, is that it?”
