The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard
Chapter 2980: Can't Afford to Provoke, Really Can't Afford to Provoke!
Theron Coffey suddenly felt very uneasy. He had previously sent the Third Squad to the field, with the intention of setting up Carson Flores. However, Carson Flores summoned the Fifty Demons to break the situation, and Carson surely knows about it. He probably has made a note of it in his little book.
Although I am his team leader, my background cannot compare with Taliesin Compton.
Theron Coffey subconsciously lowered his tone: “Did the family of that person say anything?”
Carson Flores replied, “The person in charge was quite reasonable and didn’t say anything. However, the father of the deceased was at the scene, quite emotional, and wanted to forcibly keep me there. But he was eventually persuaded. From the look of him, I reckon he’ll cause trouble for me in the future…”
Theron Coffey observed Carson Flores looking calm, seemingly unafraid, and couldn’t help but ask, “The resources he can mobilize aren’t comparable to the James Family. Aren’t you worried or afraid at all?”
Carson Flores laughed and said, “It’s alright. If I can kill his son, I can kill him too. If he dares to come for me, I don’t mind taking out another one.”
Theron Coffey’s pupils contracted, his mood greatly shaken.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen someone so arrogant. Can the Compton Family be recklessly killed?
No!
Now, why am I even considering the Compton Family? Whether the Compton Family lives or dies has nothing to do with me. I should be contemplating my own situation, shouldn’t I?
Is Carson Flores already thinking about how to kill me?
Theron Coffey’s heart raced a bit, suddenly feeling flustered.
I underestimated Carson Flores!
I originally thought he was a person who occasionally got lucky and earned some accolades, recognized by the Hall Master, given a small team leader position. I’m a level 1, I can easily overpower him, isn’t it a piece of cake to deal with him?
Looking back now, Theron Coffey felt a panic akin to realizing he’d been foolishly attacking a tiger. He’s courting death himself.
Don’t be fooled by this kid’s current politeness, seeming like an obedient subordinate. But I can fully imagine, once this kid turns against me, I’ll be in big trouble.
On the battlefield, I can target him, but couldn’t he just as easily target me?
In the chaos of battle, who killed whom, who can make it out clearly?
Despite the panic, Theron Coffey felt somewhat fortunate. Although I’ve targeted Carson Flores, it was only once, and it was completely justifiable and not against the rules.
Initially, I even planned to assign them the most dangerous patrol duties, but because the First Legion went to battle early, this wasn’t realized. Looking back now, what a stroke of luck it was.
Why is Carson Flores saying so much to me today?
Isn’t it to warn me not to mess around, otherwise he’ll treat me like he did the Compton Family and Taliesin?
Since he’s saying these things, it shows his dissatisfaction with me, but not to the extent of needing to kill me. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have exposed this matter himself but would have found a way to give me a hard time, directly making me done for.
Understanding this, Theron Coffey’s face immediately lit up with a brilliant smile: “Those people truly deserve to die. We’re bleeding on the front lines and they’re stabbing us in the back. Should I report this to the Army Commander?”
Carson Flores shook his head: “No need to trouble them. The person is dead, so the matter is considered over. People should look forward, as long as nobody causes me trouble or seeks issues, I naturally won’t dwell on past matters.”
Theron Coffey thought, are you talking about the Compton Family or me?
You’re pointing at me, right?
You’re clearly warning me that as long as I don’t target you or stir up trouble in the future, the previous event will be considered nonexistent and won’t be argued over.
I understand now!
Theron Coffey gave a thumbs up: “Broad-minded, young and accomplished, with a promising future. By the way, will they cause a stir because you went to kill someone? If the Hall Master finds out…”
Carson Flores narrowed his eyes slightly and calmly replied, “The Hall Master told me that as long as I’m in the right, he won’t let me suffer.”
Sss!
Theron Coffey inwardly gasped, damn, you should’ve said this earlier!
If you had revealed this a bit sooner, I’d have had to be insane to bother you!
Nephew?
If the nephew faces grievances, let him suffer. He deserves it!
Theron Coffey’s smile broadened even more, albeit with a touch more insincerity: “The Hall Master favors you so much, yet you never mentioned it. You’re really too humble.”
Carson Flores laughed and said, “The Hall Master is busy with affairs every day, it’s not good to bother him with trivial matters. I’ll handle them myself, since I’m in the right, I’m not afraid of the other party causing trouble later, right, team leader?”
“Right, if we can handle it, we should handle it ourselves. We can’t bother the Hall Master with everything!”
Theron Coffey echoed repeatedly, although inwardly feeling a bit bitter. In front of Carson Flores, he probably won’t be able to hold his head high as team leader in the future.
Can’t afford to provoke him, really can’t!
