Chapter 219: Chapter 219: Little Monkey Makes a Big Contribution!

Liang He softly soothed the restless little monkey, then looked at Huo An, who was observing the surroundings.

"Brother Hao, did you find anything?"

"Yes." Since Huo An knew of Xiong Yu’s existence, he only needed to focus on the tracks of large animals—specifically, a black bear. "He should have fled in this direction."

Now that they had a direction, they continued the pursuit. However, because they needed to constantly observe the tracks Xiong Yu left behind, they couldn’t use the aircraft and had to proceed on foot. Huo An contacted Kerry, asking him to send people over to regroup, all while tracking Xiong Yu. Liang He carried the little monkey and followed Huo An. Meanwhile, Xu Yi was in charge of flying the aircraft, trailing behind at a moderate distance so that if Xiong Yu was spotted and tried to escape, he could give chase.

"EEK EEK!"

After tracking for some time, they seemed to be getting closer to Xiong Yu’s location. The little monkey sensed its friend’s scent and became agitated.

"Shh... be good and don’t make a sound. Don’t let the bad guy discover us, okay?" Liang He gently explained to the little monkey, telling it to stay quiet so the bad guy wouldn’t hear them.

Hearing this, the little monkey actually stopped thrashing and squeaking. It even cleverly covered its mouth with its tiny hands, its big, round eyes staring unblinkingly straight ahead. It could sense that the koala was just up ahead.

"Damn it, why is there no signal here at all?" Believing he had found a safe hiding spot, Xiong Yu transformed right in front of the koala, shifting from a massive black bear into a tall, muscular man with dark skin. "Did I walk too far?" Looking at his Light Brain, which had no signal, Xiong Yu grew increasingly irritable at his inability to contact the Rebel Army.

He didn’t know that after Huo An discovered his existence, he had anticipated Xiong Yu might contact the Rebel Army. Thus, Huo An had intentionally cut off the signal covering the reserve, leaving them to communicate directly through the intranet.

"GRUNT... NNGH!"

Startled by the sudden transformation of the bear into a man, the koala belatedly let out a frightened sound, which only infuriated the already irritable Xiong Yu further.

"Stop your whining! You don’t actually think that stupid monkey will come to save you, do you? Keep dreaming!" If it weren’t to ensure he had something to eat in case he ran out of food, Xiong Yu would never have carried this nuisance around. However, the koala’s presence reminded him of that wild monkey. If his Beast Form hadn’t possessed such thick, tough skin, he likely would have been heavily scratched and bitten. "If it dares to come, I’ll eat it! I hear monkey brains are highly nutritious!"

Liang He, who was carrying the little monkey and happened to stumble upon Xiong Yu’s declaration, instinctively covered the little monkey’s ears. She decided it was a horror story that the monkey shouldn’t hear. While soothing the little monkey’s young and fragile heart, Liang He glared at Xiong Yu. Perhaps her gaze was too intense, because Xiong Yu finally noticed something was wrong.

"Holy shit!" The moment he clearly saw who it was, Xiong Yu sprang up and turned to flee, only to run straight into Xu Yi, who had driven the aircraft over to box him in.

With both his front and rear paths completely blocked, Xiong Yu had to look for another chance to escape. However, Huo An wasn’t going to give him that opportunity.

"Xiong Yu, do you really think you can escape on my turf?"

Hearing his name, Xiong Yu spaced out for a second but quickly realized that his cover was completely blown. "How did you find me?"

Just as Huo An had implied, now that he was exposed, the Rebel Army would very likely choose to abandon him. His chances of successfully escaping were incredibly slim. But Xiong Yu wasn’t going to accept this! He couldn’t understand why he had been discovered when he had hidden himself so perfectly.

"We owe it all to the little monkey." Taking advantage of Xiong Yu’s distraction, Liang He had snatched the koala back and placed it on a large tree. The little monkey obediently climbed up the tree as well, carefully checking its friend’s body for any injuries. "Earlier, the little monkey witnessed you poisoning the water with its own eyes, which was how Brother Hao discovered your existence. This time, it sought our help because you captured the koala."

Ultimately, Xiong Yu had dug his own grave. If he hadn’t targeted the koala and the little monkey, he wouldn’t have exposed his tracks so quickly. After all, it would have taken time for Kerry and the others to conduct a thorough search, during which Xiong Yu might have found a loophole and escaped.

"Damn it! I should have just killed these two beasts!" He had never imagined that he would be brought down by two ordinary, weak animals. Xiong Yu was filled with both rage and regret.

"Xiong Yu, give up your resistance and come back with me to face trial." Huo An used the communication method unique to Beastmen to silently warn Xiong Yu against putting up a stubborn fight. Xiong Yu had naturally heard rumors that Huo An was a Kunpeng. Compared to an SSS-level Beastman, he held absolutely no advantage.

"...Fine, I’ll go back with you."

It was a fact that Xiong Yu had poisoned the water source. Unable to escape, he had no choice but to surrender without a fight. But with his personality, would he really obey so docilely?

Seemingly giving up his resistance, Xiong Yu stepped closer to Huo An. Just as Huo An prepared to tie him up and hand him over to the Law Enforcement Team that would arrive shortly, the situation suddenly changed.

"Don’t come any closer! Take one more step, and I’ll kill her!" Pulling out a knife from who knew where, Xiong Yu held the blade against Liang He’s neck. He was clearly using her as a hostage and a bargaining chip.

Having laid low in the reserve for so long, Xiong Yu was naturally aware of Liang He’s importance to Huo An, the reserve, and even the Federation. Therefore, upon realizing Liang He was also present, he immediately thought of using her to leave the reserve. Perhaps he could even contact the Rebel Army and have them send someone to pick them up directly. When the time came, given Liang He’s immense value, Xiong Yu could still reap a massive reward from the Rebel Army.

"Wait, what’s going on here?" Thinking the matter was already resolved, Xu Yi had just parked the aircraft when he saw Liang He being taken hostage. He stared at Xiong Yu, utterly speechless. "Buddy, are you kidding me?"

Having recently found time to watch a few Blue Star movies, Xu Yi mimicked the gangsters in the films, uttering a phrase that Xiong Yu couldn’t understand. The only person present who could probably understand him was the hostage herself, Liang He.

"He probably thinks I have the lowest Combat Power." With her back to Xiong Yu, the corners of Liang He’s mouth curled into a smile. She didn’t feel the slightest bit of panic at being taken hostage; instead, she found it quite novel. The last time she had been taken hostage, it seemed to be when she had the Silver Shuttle play along so she could infiltrate the Rebel Army’s warship.

"What kind of riddles are you speaking?! Cut the crap and get out of the way, I’m getting on the aircraft!" Xiong Yu set his sights on the aircraft behind Xu Yi. As long as he took Liang He aboard, Huo An definitely wouldn’t dare attack the aircraft due to her presence. He could then take the opportunity to contact the Rebel Army and have them send someone for backup, allowing him to escape successfully!

"How long do you plan on playing around?" Huo An stared in Xiong Yu’s direction and sighed softly, asking in a somewhat helpless tone.

Hearing this, Liang He blinked her eyes innocently. Before Xiong Yu could even react, her slightly cold hand reached up and directly gripped his wrist holding the knife.
