Chapter 220: He Seems to Have Been Discovered?

BANG!

Xu Yi and Huo An watched as Liang He slammed Xiong Yu to the ground with a vicious shoulder throw, silently mourning for him in their hearts.

Of all the people to mess with, why did he have to provoke this demon of death?

Not to mention, Liang He had been stewing in anger, eager to teach the poisoner a lesson and avenge the Iron-eating Beast and the other victimized animals. Xiong Yu had practically delivered himself right to her doorstep.

“Ahem, are we late?” Kerry, who had arrived just in time to witness the scene, greeted them with a slightly bewildered expression.

“Not at all. You’re right on time.” Huo An shot him a look, signaling him to take Xiong Yu away immediately. He was afraid that if Liang He let the adrenaline take over, she might actually kill the guy. “Liang He, you and Xu Yi should head back to the Seventh Service Area first. Kerry and I will handle things here.”

Now that the culprit was caught, Liang He didn’t need to worry about the rest.

“Okay, but I want to take the koala and the little monkey back for a checkup.”

After they had suffered such an unprovoked disaster, Liang He wasn’t sure if the koala was injured, so it was better to be safe than sorry. As the little monkey and the koala were good friends, they naturally had to go together. Besides, the monkey had tussled with Xiong Yu earlier, so a checkup was mandatory.

“Sure.” Under normal circumstances, Huo An never refused Liang He’s requests, let alone one with such a valid reason. He had absolutely no cause to stop her.

Having gotten permission, Liang He turned to ask the little monkey and the koala. She didn’t want to force them back, fearing the two little ones might get frightened and stressed.

“Little ones, I’m going to take you back to the service area first for a quick physical checkup. If everything’s fine, you can come back. How does that sound?”

The koala was a bit silly and couldn’t quite understand Liang He’s words, so she was mainly asking for the little monkey’s opinion.

“I’ll even prepare some delicious food for you as a thank-you for helping me catch the bad guy.”

“Squeak? Squeak!” The little monkey, who had been somewhat hesitant, immediately jumped up and down in agreement at the mention of good food. Pulling its good friend’s little paw, it obediently walked over to her feet.

Liang He scooped them both into her arms and boarded the aircraft with Xu Yi, flying toward the Seventh Service Area.

Meanwhile, the Mojin King Tiger, still unaware that Liang He had brought back two more little ones, was currently being blocked at the dormitory door by Silver Feather.

“Awoo?” Cedriel placed his freshly caught prey at the door. His golden tiger eyes looked at Silver Feather in confusion, not understanding what she wanted to do.

“Cedriel,” Silver Feather called out his name inexplicably, then raised an eyebrow with obscure meaning as she met his gaze. “I never would have thought that the dignified Federation Marshal would act cute and spoiled just to win a girl’s favor. How adorable.”

Leaving behind that ambiguous compliment, Silver Feather didn’t wait for Cedriel’s response. She turned and went inside, completely ignoring the slightly narrowed, predatory gaze behind her.

It seemed like… he had been found out.

“Cedriel?”

Just as Cedriel was about to pick up his prey again and head inside, Liang He and Xu Yi returned, stopping him once more.

“Awoo~” Whenever Liang He called him, Cedriel was always exceptionally gentle. He didn’t even bother with his prey, dashing straight to her side, only to see the little monkey and koala in her arms.

He had seen these two little creatures when Liang He took him and the Mengji Snow Leopard to investigate the forest’s water source at night, so he wasn’t particularly surprised.

“Cedriel, did you go hunting? Great job!” Seeing the prey laid out at the door, Liang He didn’t hesitate to praise the Mojin King Tiger. Then, she prepared to bypass the animal dormitory and enter the medical room directly from the other side. “Leave your prey here. I’ll take care of it later. I need to take them for a physical checkup first, okay?”

Normally, when the furry ones came back from hunting, Liang He helped process the meat. Therefore, she told the Mojin King Tiger to go back to his dorm first, planning to handle the prey after she was done with the little monkey and the koala.

“Awoo~” Cedriel could tell they were just an ordinary monkey and koala, so he wasn’t repulsed by them. Instead of going back to the dorm as she had said, he just silently followed behind Liang He.

“Do you want to follow me? That’s fine, but don’t scare them, alright?”

Although Liang He felt that her furry companions were just sweet babies with ferocious exteriors but soft hearts, the Mojin King Tiger was undeniably intimidating to the little monkey and the koala, so it was best to give him a heads-up.

“Awoo~” Cedriel’s response this time was even softer, evidently cooperating with Liang He so as not to scare the little monkey and koala.

Fortunately, both the little monkey and the koala had interacted with him before. The little monkey was a smart cookie and knew that Liang He had the highest status here; with her around, it wasn’t afraid at all. As for the koala, it was naturally slow to react. Back then, it had even hitched a ride on the Mengji Snow Leopard, so it certainly wasn’t going to be scared now.

“Cedriel is such a gentle big brother.” Liang He placed the little monkey and koala on the medical room’s scanner, then turned to stroke the Mojin King Tiger’s large head. She praised him while watching Xu Yi examine the two little ones.

Thanks to Liang He’s presence, the little monkey was very cooperative, and the koala had finished its exam before it even registered what was happening.

“How is it?” Looking at the freshly printed report, Liang He turned to Xu Yi with concern.

“No major issues, just some minor ailments. They’ll be fine with a little rest.”

For small animals like the monkey and koala who survived in the wild year-round, minor ailments were completely normal. However, Xiong Yu’s rough treatment earlier had indeed caused them some harm. Fortunately, it wasn’t severe. With medical intervention, they would surely recover quickly.

“That’s good. I’ll leave them in your care then.”

Liang He had no intention of adopting them permanently, so there was no need to force them to socialize with the Mojin King Tiger and the others. Once their injuries healed, they would be returned to nature following the standard protocol.

“Don’t worry. I’ve gained a lot of experience taking care of those comatose animals recently,” Xu Yi patted his chest, guaranteeing it.

He didn’t just have experience; his experience level had practically skyrocketed. After all, what veterinarian ever had to face over a hundred comatose animals all at once?

“Alright, Cedriel, let’s head back first.”

Having finally reached a place where they felt safe, the two little creatures, already physically and mentally exhausted from the incident with Xiong Yu, curled into a ball. They snuggled together and fell fast asleep, not treating Liang He and the others as outsiders at all.

Seeing this, Liang He didn’t disturb their rest. She and Xu Yi quietly led the Mojin King Tiger out of the medical room.

“After I eat later, I’ll head back to the Sixth Service Area. Lan Zhuo still needs my help over there.”

As for the little monkey and koala, he would prepare the medicine later and teach Liang He or Silver Shuttle how to apply it. He could always come over whenever he had free time anyway.

“Okay, thank you for your hard work.” Liang He knew there were still many small animals waiting for Xu Yi’s treatment over there, so she had no objections.

When they returned to the dormitory from outside with the Mojin King Tiger, ready to move Cedriel’s prey inside for processing, they unexpectedly found that the prey was gone.

“Huh? Did Hoder and Silver Shuttle help me process it?”
