Chapter 229: Chapter 229: She Had the Illusion That Her Reputation Was Ruined

Skalan Star was mostly covered by oceans. As a result, apart from the general service station located on land, the rest of the service stations were primarily built on islands. Of course, to make patrolling the waters easier, people typically lived on Sea Ships, using the service stations only as temporary supply depots.

"Skalan Star is one of the rare marine reserves, so the Sea Ships here are custom-designed with guaranteed safety."

Not only were the Sea Ships fully equipped and well-stocked with supplies, but they could also transform into submarines and dive straight to the bottom of the ocean in the event of maritime danger.

As their boat sped forward, an enormous Sea Ship gradually crested over the horizon. This was Liang He’s first time seeing such a spectacular sight, filling her with curiosity and anticipation.

"We’re finally here..."

Having not been on a boat in a long time, President Lucas was dizzy and thoroughly miserable. Spotting the Sea Ship was like seeing a savior, and he only wished to board it as soon as possible. The unique structure of the Sea Ships made them incredibly stable even when sailing on the open ocean, virtually eliminating any chance of seasickness.

"President, it’s been hard on you. Just bear with it a little longer. We’ll be there soon."

Seeing President Lucas’s suffering, Goring felt incredibly anxious. He was deeply grateful for the President’s help and was terrified of neglecting him and disappointing the elderly man. Finally, just as President Lucas was about to reach his breaking point and throw up, the boat successfully arrived at the Sea Ship.

"I have already arranged the rooms. Because Miss Liang He needs to stay with Cedriel and Lanton, I specifically assigned her the largest room," Goring explained.

Liang He was traveling with her whole family in tow, and those "family members" happened to be the Federation Marshal and the First Commander. Anyone who knew the inside story would not have the slightest objection.

"As for the President and Governor Huo, their rooms have been arranged right next to Miss Liang He so everyone can look out for each other." Considering they were in unfamiliar territory, Goring thoughtfully placed everyone together.

"Alright, thank you for your trouble, Deputy District Chief Gao."

Huo An was very satisfied with this arrangement. President Lucas, who was still trying to quell his nausea after boarding the Sea Ship, had no objections either. Right now, he just wanted to find a place to lie down; he couldn’t care less about anything else.

"Then I will take everyone to your rooms to drop off your luggage first."

Liang He had brought a considerable amount of canned food, which had to be delivered by a transport ship and would be sent directly to her room upon arrival. The Sea Ship was massive. To Liang He, it was no different from a moving island; even the most luxurious cruise ships on Blue Star might not compare to it.

With Goring leading the way, taking them through winding corridors and an elevator, Liang He and the others finally arrived at their respective doors.

"Please rest up for now. I still have some matters to attend to. At dinnertime, someone will come to invite you down."

Indeed, the trend of Blue Star cuisine had finally reached this Ocean Star. The previously dull and boring patrol missions seemed a lot more enjoyable for the crew now that delicious food was involved. They had even learned how to fish at sea, saving the edible catches for a specially hired chef to prepare a grand seafood feast to reward everyone.

"Cedriel, Lanton, hurry inside."

After making sure President Lucas had returned to his room to rest, Liang He greeted Huo An, then opened her door and let the Mojin King Tiger and Canglan Hunting Eagle inside.

"AWOO!"

"SCREECH!"

Cedriel and Lanton darted into the room in a flash, smoothly closing the door behind them before beginning their patrol of the new space. As the largest room Goring had mentioned, it spanned nearly two hundred square meters. Perhaps this wasn’t much on land, but having two hundred square meters on a Sea Ship was an entirely different concept.

Perhaps taking into consideration that Liang He needed to feed her furry companions, the room included a simple kitchenette in addition to the living room, bedroom, and bathroom.

"There’s even a terrace out here."

Pushing open the living room door and stepping outside revealed a decently sized terrace. Liang He stood there with her furry companions for a while, enjoying the ocean breeze in exceptional comfort. Anyone who didn’t know better would think they were here on vacation.

"Huh? Are those soldiers from the Federation Army?"

Sharp-eyed Liang He caught a glimpse of people in Federation Army uniforms down below. Their upright postures and resolute gazes stood in stark contrast to the reserve’s Guard Team. It wasn’t that the Guard Team was unprofessional, but rather the unique aura cultivated by such a specialized military profession made them instantly recognizable at a glance.

"Looking at their defensive stance, the situation really isn’t optimistic."

She hadn’t noticed when they first boarded, but now Liang He could clearly feel the tense atmosphere aboard the Sea Ship. But it made sense. Bolu District Chief was missing, the patrolling Guard Team had vanished in that bizarre stretch of sea, and even the Federation Army had barely survived. It was no wonder they were so vigilant.

"Cedriel, even though you aren’t afraid of water, it’s dangerous here. You must not run around recklessly, understand?" Thinking of the looming danger, Liang He couldn’t help but offer a few more words of caution.

She was actually starting to regret bringing Cedriel along. After all, if they encountered danger, the Canglan Hunting Eagle could fly. However, this was an ocean environment, which provided absolutely no advantage to a Mojin King Tiger.

"AWOO!"

Sensing Liang He’s concern, Cedriel quickly stepped forward and rubbed against her, urging her not to worry about him. It was true that the previous Mojin King Tiger might have found maritime dangers somewhat difficult to fend off. But he was different now.

"Such a good boy." Liang He affectionately rubbed his robust, furry head, then checked the time. There were still two hours until dinner, so she planned to rest a bit more.

When Liang He pushed open the bedroom door, she was greeted by the sight of a massive twenty-square-meter bed. Her lips twitched slightly at the sight; she just knew this had to be Goring’s special arrangement.

"...Why do I feel like my reputation has been ruined?" she muttered.

Sure enough, her sleeping and eating together with her furry companions was already common knowledge, wasn’t it? Whatever, she would ignore it for now and get some solid sleep first!

Embracing the situation, Liang He fell fast asleep, hugging the Mojin King Tiger in front, guarded by the Canglan Hunting Eagle’s massive wings behind her, and with a Little Black Snake coiled around her wrist, sleeping soundly until Huo An knocked on her door.

"Liang He, are you awake?"

Hearing Huo An’s voice, Liang He, who had been deep in dreams, suddenly snapped her eyes open. A fleeting sharpness flashed in her gaze, which quickly softened upon seeing the furry companions in her arms. She gently got up, trying to go open the door without waking the Mojin King Tiger and Canglan Hunting Eagle.

In truth, Cedriel and Lanton had sensed someone outside the door even earlier than she did. It was just that upon realizing it was Huo An, they simply chose to keep their eyes closed and ignore him.

"Sorry, did I wake you?" Liang He, thinking she had successfully slipped out of bed and was just about to put on her shoes, suddenly met two pairs of bright eyes and hurriedly apologized.

However, she didn’t have time to say much more. Huo An was still waiting outside, and out of politeness, she had to respond to him first.

"Liang He? Are you still in there?" Seeing that there was no response from inside the room, Huo An began to wonder if Liang He and the others weren’t in.

"I’m here! Brother Hao, give me a second!"
