The Forest Feeds No Idle Goblins

Chapter 87 - 75: Cyan-Eyed Dragon Snake

Chapter 87: Chapter 75: Cyan-Eyed Dragon Snake

"Yes, we’ve tried feeding it all sorts of things, but it won’t eat them," Agatha nodded.

"Have you... ever tried feeding it animal organs?" Shire asked seriously.

"Organs?" Agatha gave him a strange look, then thought for a moment before saying, "I don’t think we ever have."

"When our ancestors returned from the Star Realm, they became Bloodline Warlocks and acquired immense wealth. After all these years, the Twelve Clans have never been short on money. No one would eat animal organs, and no one would feed something so rank and smelly to a Star Realm Beast."

"What, don’t tell me you want to..." Agatha’s eyes widened as she spoke. She hugged Rubus’s neck and glared at Shire.

"Nothing, I was just asking." Shire laughed it off, but the way he looked at Rubus grew even more intense.

The recent battle had shown him the power of a Star Realm Beast firsthand, and its ability to perform short-distance teleports like the Star Realm Jump left Shire incredibly envious. ’It would be great if I could get my hands on some Star Realm Beasts and raise a bunch of them.’

"Don’t even think about it. Our ancestors had the same idea, but it’s impossible. A Bloodline Warlock can only summon a single Star Realm Beast in their lifetime." Agatha immediately poured cold water on his idea.

"What if that Star Realm Beast dies?" Shire asked.

"Then you can never summon another one," Agatha said, looking down.

Shire was silent for a few seconds before saying to her solemnly, "Thank you."

He was only now realizing how great a risk she had taken to help him.

Then, Shire vigorously ruffled the fur on Rubus’s head. "Thank you, too."

After saying that, he looked around, scanning the entire platform, then asked Fulu, "Are you sensing anything else right now?"

A moment ago, the timid Fulu had been cowering at the entrance of the passage, helping the goblins build the Mind Platform. Now that the Cyan-Eyed Dragon Snake was paralyzed, it had floated out and was even prodding the Giant Snake’s body with its green tentacles.

Hearing Shire’s question, it focused its senses, its two eyestalks scanning in different directions. "Yes. A benevolent Telepathy. It’s over there."

"Hm?" Shire raised an eyebrow and looked in the direction Fulu’s tentacle was pointing. "A benevolent Mind?"

He walked to the edge of the platform and shouted into the air, "Come on out! I see you!"

Other than the SPLASHING of the underground river, nothing happened.

Shire waved Caocao over to his side. "Caocao, throw a rock in that direction."

PLOP! A rock was tossed into the river, sending up a column of water.

At the same time, a small figure slipped off a stalactite on the cave ceiling and began flapping its wings, frantically trying to escape.

"Trying to run?" Shire immediately looked at Agatha. "A little help?"

Agatha patted Rubus and pointed at the distant flying thing.

Shan Xi Ao flapped his wings with all his might. He never expected this group of goblins and Giants to actually kill the Giant Snake. Back then, he had been clinging to the stalactite for dear life, not daring to even breathe, terrified of being discovered.

’But I hid so well! Even the Giant Snake didn’t notice me. How did these goblins find me?’

’And their leader seems to be that short goblin. That’s so strange.’

’Run, I have to run faster and go back to tell my people!’ Shan Xi Ao deeply regretted not practicing his flying more. He just prayed he could get far enough away that they wouldn’t be able to hit him.

’I should be able to get away.’ Just as he was cheering himself on, a black rift tore open right in front of him with a WHOOSH. A massive hound shot out and snatched him up in its mouth.

"Ah—" The little goblin Shan Xi Ao let out a cry, but the sound was cut off abruptly.

SPLASH. Rubus fell into the underground river.
