The Fragrance of My Hot Patients
Chapter 321
Chapter 321: Chapter 321
The corners of Gao Tianqi’s lips twitched. "You’ve already gotten what you wanted. What more do you want?"
Chenyang raised an eyebrow. "And what exactly did I get from you?"
"That twenty thousand in your pocket is mine."
"Are you talking out of your ass? You used that money to hire people to beat me up. Now it’s in my pocket, and you still have the fucking nerve to shamelessly claim it’s yours? Have you no shame?"
"Yes, it was money to hire people to beat you up, but it still came out of my pocket. That can count as my compensation to you."
"Compensation my ass! I earned this money from Brother Hu fair and square. What’s it got to do with you?"
"But Brother Hu’s the one who took the money from me."
Gao Tianqi knew he was just quibbling, making himself look both stupid and shameless. But to save his own skin, things like dignity and intelligence didn’t matter anymore.
Chenyang could guess what Gao Tianqi was thinking, but he was in a hurry to let Liu Yun know he was safe and had no time to argue with this fool. He reached out and grabbed him by the collar. "You just wait here quietly. We’ll have a nice long chat after I’m off the phone."
Gao Tianqi glanced at Chenyang, then down at the large hand gripping his collar, his face twisting into an expression of pure, frustrated misery.
’He didn’t want to stay here for another second.’
’Because he knew that after hiring Brother Hu and his men to start trouble, Chenyang definitely wouldn’t let him off easy.’
’But he’d seen—and personally experienced—Chenyang’s skills. If he tried to run, Chenyang wouldn’t just grab his collar. He’d probably break both his legs on the spot.’
’He’d get beaten if he left, and he’d get beaten if he stayed.’
’This was supposed to be his turf. He was the one who’d hired people to beat up Chenyang.’
’So how had the tables turned so completely?’
"Sister Liu. It’s Chenyang."
Just as Gao Tianqi was stewing in a frustration so intense he could spit blood, Chenyang got through to Liu Yun.
Hearing Chenyang’s voice, Liu Yun, who was still searching for him frantically, breathed a quiet sigh of relief. As long as he could still call her, it meant he wasn’t in any major trouble.
After a brief pause, her concerned questions came in a rush, "Where are you? Did they do anything to you? Are you hurt? Who was it that took you? Was it Lin Jiji’s men?"
Chenyang pinched the bridge of his nose. "You’re hitting me with so many questions at once. Which one do you want me to answer first?"
"First, tell me if you’re hurt!"
"I’m not!"
"Where are you? I’ll come pick you up right now."
"No need, Sister Liu. I ran into a little trouble, but it’s all taken care of now. I’m with An Xiaoqing, Director An, and it’s perfectly safe here."
Liu Yun shot back without a moment’s hesitation, "No. The only way I’ll feel at ease is if you’re right here with me. Send me your location. I’m coming to get you right now."
Chenyang knew she was worried about him. Having grown up without much attention from others, he felt a warmth spread through his chest as he listened to the urgency and genuine care in her voice.
He chuckled. "Sister Liu, I’m really okay. My leaving the hospital had nothing to do with Lin Jiji’s men. And it’s my fault you were all worried. I didn’t notice my phone was dead, and I should have let you know I was safe sooner."
"So it wasn’t Lin Jiji who sent people to get you from the hospital?"
"Of course not. If Lin Jiji’s people wanted me out of there, they’d definitely be looking to harm me. I’m not stupid; I wouldn’t have gone with them."
"That’s what we were wondering. We checked the surveillance, and the person who led you away seemed very familiar with the hospital. We figured it had to be an insider."
Liu Yun was mid-sentence when she suddenly remembered Chenyang mentioning An Xiaoqing. Her tone shifted abruptly. "That insider from the hospital... don’t tell me it was Gao Tianqi?"
Chenyang let out a derisive laugh. "As expected of Sister Liu. You guessed it in one go."
Liu Yun fumed. "That bastard! I told him this afternoon that you were one of my people, and he still dared to pull these petty tricks behind my back. Looks like he’s not just tired of trying for a promotion; he’s tired of having a job at this hospital, period."
"Don’t get angry, Sister Liu. The guy’s a total blockhead. He couldn’t get one over on me this afternoon, and it’s the same story now. In fact... I’m up twenty thousand, thanks to him."
"Up twenty thousand? What do you mean?"
"To sum it up, he tried to have me beaten up. Not only did he fail, but he also compensated me twenty thousand as an apology for wasting my time and energy."
PFFT!
Liu Yun burst out laughing. "You mean you scammed him out of twenty thousand, right?"
Chenyang replied, exasperated, "Now hold on, I don’t like the sound of that. I earned it fair and square. How can you call it a scam?"
"Hahaha, fine. If you’re still in the mood to joke, then you really must be okay." Liu Yun paused for a moment. "But you’d better come back to the hospital. The public opinion online is getting more and more unfavorable for you, and I’m worried you’ll be in danger if you stay out."
