The Fragrance of My Hot Patients
Chapter 428
Lin Jiji panicked!
He had experienced a few scandals since his debut, but they were mostly minor.
Back when he wasn’t very famous, his agency could easily make them go away with a bit of money. Later, his agency didn’t even have to step in; the support of his fans was enough to handle it.
But this time was different. What was being exposed online were all the terrible things he had done since his debut—and they were all major!
If it were just about trading sexual favors with patrons or sleeping with female fans, at most it would just shatter his image in the eyes of his followers, who would say he had a messy private life.
But the current exposé included more than just that. There were also accusations of taking advantage of underage female fans, using illicit substances, gambling, group sex, and even forcing female fans to have abortions—all of which were illegal.
With all these things piled up, it wasn’t just a matter of being blacklisted and publicly condemned. He was looking at serious prison time.
‘What do I do?’
‘I covered my tracks so well for all those things… How could they suddenly be exposed?’
‘How do I fix this?’
Just as Lin Jiji’s mind was in turmoil, Lin Xiaoyue suddenly asked, “Jiji, this is all fake, right?”
“Uh… Right. It’s all fake. Someone hired paid trolls to slander and smear me.”
Lin Jiji didn’t dare admit the truth. If he did, not only would the problem remain unsolved, but Lin Xiaoyue—the beauty he was so close to bedding—would turn on him and bolt.
He took a deep breath and said with feigned confidence, “It must be that bastard Chenyang. He was acting so confident earlier. He must have found some media companies and is planning a smear campaign against me to get himself off the hook. After all, I’m a celebrity, an entertainer. My influence is definitely greater than his. He can no longer clear his name through legitimate channels, so the only way out for him is to smear me, stir up an even bigger media storm, and use it to bury the attention he’s getting.”
Lin Xiaoyue frowned. “I also think someone is deliberately targeting you, but…”
“But what?”
“Chenyang is just a doctor. Does he really have that much influence? Enough to mobilize so many paid trolls to attack you all at once?”
“He… probably not with his own influence, but he has money! He was able to rake in so many bribes right at the scene of a car accident. He must have taken countless ‘red envelopes’ from patients’ families in private. And you know how it is. Those media companies and paid trolls only care about money, not people. As long as you pay them, they can make black seem white and white seem black.”
The more Lin Jiji spoke, the more confident he became. After all, twisting the truth was something he did often, and he felt he could get away with it this time, too. More importantly, he could link his story to Chenyang taking bribes, which would make his explanation more convincing.
So, after a brief pause, he repeated the same story to Lin Yongkun, Zhang Hongtu, and the other leaders.
Of course, he knew these words would only serve to sow confusion. To solve the problem at its root, he quickly shot a look at Liu Yue, signaling her to contact the agency and his manager, Sister Rose, to start pulling strings on a larger scale.
In the past, Liu Yue would have sprung into action without him even having to ask. She would have used all her resources and done whatever it took to clear Lin Jiji’s name.
Now, however, she just took out her phone, putting on an anxious expression. In reality, she secretly opened a mobile game and began to play, thoroughly enjoying herself.
Not only would she refuse to help Lin Jiji, but she would also intentionally delay any help from the agency and Sister Rose, doing everything she could to let the situation spiral completely out of control!
By then, even if the agency wanted to step in, it would be too late to save him.
Lin Jiji was oblivious to Liu Yue’s intentions. Seeing her take out her phone and get to work, he breathed a silent sigh of relief. He then turned back to Lin Xiaoyue and the others to explain, “Everyone, I’ve already made myself very clear. I didn’t do any of the things being said online. This is all Chenyang’s doing. He hired paid trolls to deliberately smear my name. Before, he was just insulting me and showing a blatant disregard for my life. But now, he’s escalated things to a much more malicious level. I strongly demand that the relevant authorities arrest him immediately.”
Seeing him red-faced and flustered, Chenyang scoffed, “You think you’re so clever, don’t you? Do you really think everyone else is an idiot? What’s being posted online isn’t just text and headlines. There are also videos and photos, all marked with specific times and locations. Besides, people from official state media and even some entertainers you’ve sexually exploited have already come forward to corroborate these claims. If I, Chenyang, had money, maybe I could afford to hire some paid trolls and online media outlets. But a humble doctor like me? I don’t think I have the pull to get official state media, let alone the major influencers and stars from your industry, to do my bidding, do I?!”
