Chapter 1295: Chapter 865: The Frontlines

Iron Oak Plain.

"Nasha! Purification Domain!"

Adam’s command was concise and powerful.

Standing slightly higher at the rear, his hands enveloped in dense bloodlight, he rapidly constructed a complex spell model.

Not for killing, but a [Blood Curse], targeting the low-level Clawed Beast group behind those few Soul Devourers.

"Understood!"

Pokanasha’s petite figure nimbly blocked in front and to the side of Adam, her hands holding an Alchemy Holy Emblem emitting a platinum-colored glow.

A warm, pure light beam descended, spreading rapidly outward from her center to form a small [Holy Ground].

The purple-black mist enveloping the Soul Devourer’s bodies collided with this barrier, instantly sizzling and smoking, their movements becoming extraordinarily sluggish.

Adam’s curse also fell in time, the affected Beast group plunged into chaotic self-collision.

"Alchemy Bomb! Sector 4!" a captain of the Night Watcher squad with an injured arm roared.

"Received!" a Kingdom Soldier unhesitatingly pulled out a metallic ball patterned with special energy suppression symbols, removed the safety, and forcefully threw it off the castle wall.

"Eat my big treasure, you purple dung!"

Buzz—Boom!

No earth-shattering explosion firelight, just a strong, visible spatial shockwave spreading vigorously!

[Void Disruption Bomb].

The energy armor on the bodies of affected Void Creatures instantly became unstable, flashing madly like flickering bulbs, their structures loosening; some weak ones disintegrating directly.

This is one of the latest achievements from the Night Watcher’s Alchemy Laboratory, greatly weakening the defense of low-level Void Creatures.

Everyone who’s used it says it’s good.

The battle went on with the pounding thuds of such "buzzing" blunt instrument strikes, magic crackles, arrow whistles, explosion roars, comrade shouts and curses echoing constantly.

Sweat, blood smoke mixed with the fresh scent of Arcane purification barriers, forming the odor of a cruel battlefield.

Wave after wave crashed ashore, leaving more purple ash and shattered shards.

The defense circle is as solid as rock, the light of [Steel Spine Tower] steadily illuminating the plain chain.

Adam looked around, tired yet his gaze sharp.

Tokke swapped a new quiver.

Flying Squirrel took a breath in the shadows, battle frenzy in his eyes.

Eva adjusted her arm guard, Pokanasha wiped sweat from her forehead, giving Adam a reassuring smile.

Underfoot lay a formidable defense line. Outside the city roared the tidal wave of death.

"Hold the line! Guard every meter!"

A loud voice echoed through the command link in everyone’s ears, the commander of this segment of defense.

"They can’t get in! Rear ranks, prepare to relieve!"

The Night Watcher’s battle line trembled intensely with deafening roars and sharp magic shrieks.

Wave after wave of Void Claw Beasts crashed against the barrage composed of magic energy screens, refined gold plates, and flesh, each impact igniting fiercer counters.

Adam’s squad nailed down like rock on their positions.

They are reserves of the Soul Guardian Squad, needed to hold for a longer duration.

After all, the Void tide never ceases to pound.

"Tokke, two o’clock direction, a new wave of Rupturers!"

"Flying Squirrel, a Permeator has penetrated to your left!"

Adam’s instructions cut through the howling storm.

Tokke’s hand crossbow shrieked, enchanted bolts accurately piercing through weak spots in the magic energy barrier, nailing a burrowing Void Rupturer to the crystallized ground.

Flying Squirrel cried out, even muttering skill names, his figure transforming into a flickering shadow, using his "Shadow Erode Blade" cunningly severed the energy core of a stealthy Permeator trying to bypass the Shield Wall, that like a jumping purple crystal.

Pokanasha maintained her stable [Holy Ground] around Adam and herself.

Eva, like a panther in the night, twirled dual blades, clearing stragglers at the chaotic verge, every dodge and cut accompanied by the crisp sound of crystal shards flying.

The ground beneath their feet was no longer the castle wall, but covered with thick, creaking crystal debris and ash.

Occasionally, a Void Creature was shattered at the core, instantly turning to ash, leaving mere transient energy flashes and a permeating sulfur smell.

Some even left small remnants, these remains indistinguishable from trash laying thickly across the castle wall due to their quantity.

Though twenty-four-hour assaults never ceased, sometimes the wave paused in certain penalty phases.

And as the tides receded, leaving a mess of purplish-black crystal slag and puddles of corrosive smoking blood.

Tokke gasped while replacing his quiver, his bowstring faintly warm from frequent drawing, Flying Squirrel shook his arms, cloak’s torn edges oozing dark purple energy.

Eva leaned against the cold inner wall, licking her cracked lips, her gaze still sharply scanning the front line.

Pokanasha’s sweat gleamed beneath the [Steel Spine Tower]’s light, she looked like a child, not supposed to be here.

Adam took a deep breath, the smell of blood mixed with the residual fragrance of purification magic surged into his lungs, his crimson eyes sweeping over exhausted but tougher comrades, and equally blood-soaked warriors nearby.

Just then, a heavier, earth-originated tremor came.

Several veteran soldiers instantly sat up, looking towards the distance.

Everyone’s gaze subconsciously turned to within the protective circle of the defense line, to the area long abandoned, the source of their defense.
