Chapter 1343: Chapter 888: Opportunity

Tariel Continent.

Front line.

The air is thick with smoke, blood, and the Peculiar decayed sweetness unique to the void.

This smell was mind-numbing at first.

But now.

Once you get used to it, it’s just like that.

Life is so adaptable; perhaps it’s a small sign of void corruption.

Night Watch soldiers and adventurers on the city walls, their armor covered with cracks and dull stains.

Faces mixed with fatigue and resilience, staring hard at the buffer zone ahead, shrouded in grey mist, like a battlefield meat grinder.

A faint fluctuation came from behind.

Everyone felt it.

They looked back.

Suddenly, at the horizon’s edge, the gray sky was torn apart by a silver-gray Order brilliance.

"What is that?!"

An eagle-eyed Elf Ranger exclaimed, the longbow in his hand quivering slightly, pointing to the sky.

Everyone’s gaze was instantly drawn.

They saw a majestic giant tower, floating slowly, like a divine creation from mythology.

Its body covered with dark silver metal, its surface etched with unspeakable geometric patterns.

The enormous crystal array at its top emitted a stable, pure, reassuring Order brilliance—the star of this period, the "Order Pyramid".

Around the tower.

Several streamlined Night Watch floating airships surrounded it like loyal hounds, their gun ports flickering with cold light of energy accumulation.

They are guardians.

"It’s here! It’s the ’Big Baby’ sent from Ring Tower City!"

The Beastman Warrior Daniel squeezed to the merlon, his coarse voice filled with incredulous excitement, and his hoarse shout broke through the battlefield’s low whisper.

This looks even more shocking than at the Warship Port before.

It seems the current state of the Order Pyramid is some kind of deployment, appearing more imposing, providing psychological comfort.

"Damn! Finally, we’ve waited long enough!"

Beside him, the Half-Elf Scout Fercheck jumped, his dirty little face twisting with excitement, "Damn the void! I’m sick of this hellhole!"

The sky was not calm.

Some flying monsters, agitated and irrational due to chaotic and void energy, like bloodthirsty mosquitoes, leapt from the clouds or ridges.

These creatures attempted to attack the Floating Tower emitting Order power they loathed.

Already maddened creatures appeared even more demented at this moment, completely devoid of the instinct to survive, leaving only the purest desire to attack.

Of course, this is not only the creature’s reason but also the surrounding environment, as it has been corrupted by the void.

And the void is the essence of destruction.

Any creature slightly infected by the void will increase in destructive desire, making such madness unsurprising.

But the guardians reacted faster.

Riding griffins, dragon hawks, and even mechanical flight wings, Night Watch aerial knights acted like precise razors.

Energy beams, enchantment arrows, and even heavy alchemic bombs were precisely shot out, blowing those overreaching flying monsters out of the sky, falling as burning debris.

Their movements clean and efficient, as if sweeping away insignificant dust, further highlighting the Pyramid’s stability and inviolability.

The floating ships didn’t even move, still steadily guarding around the tower.

"Hell! Look at those bird people, damn they’re cool!"

A human Shield Warrior with a scarred face slapped the city wall, splashing dust and leading to coughing and teasing from those nearby.

Everyone knows that flying troops are always noble.

What else can you do? Just envy them.

"It’s the ’Order Pyramid’... Order node materialization..." Elf Mage Leah murmured to herself, eyes reflecting the tower’s brilliance, fatigue replaced by profound shock and a trace of hope.

Once deployed, you can feel more power.

"I don’t care what it’s called! I just know, with it here, I can take the damn void, and repay that bottled-up frustration tenfold, hundredfold!"

Daniel swung his War Axe, the edge flashing cold under the Pyramid’s light, "Brothers! We’ve endured enough! Counterattack! The time for counterattack has come!"

This long-held repression and fervent anticipation spread like wildfire across the city wall.

Though Night Watch soldiers maintained discipline, their fingers gripping weapons turned white from force, their eyes sharper than ever, exchanging a silent communication.

The obstructed time has long passed, the advancing future is near.

However, at the edge of the Pyramid’s radiant radiation, near the twisted, light-devouring, massive "wound" of the Void Rift, a colossal shadow slowly turned its body.

It was an extremely bizarre creature—it had a roughly humanoid outline, but its lower half was three pairs of insect limbs, shimmering with dark metallic luster, like giant scythes deeply embedded into the scorched earth.

On its shoulders were two arms covered with crystalline shells, their ends sharp angled prisms, and behind, two curved, spear-like blade tentacles silently danced, slicing through the air with a hissing sound.

Its head was flat, lacking facial features, only a constantly changing and refracting void luminous crystal face, like a multi-faceted insect compound eye.

This was the embodiment of void power in this region, an entity radiating stifling oppression—a Legendary tier void creation—call it the "Crystal Cutter."
