Chapter 1398 - 913: Return to the Abyss
Chapter 1398: Chapter 913: Return to the Abyss
The sky of the Abyss is eternally shrouded in a muddy oppressive dark crimson hue, like congealed blood filth, so heavy that no light can penetrate it.
The desolate land is like scorched earth repeatedly ravaged by countless devastating wars.
Acrid steam of sulfur and blood emanates from the cracks, as rivers of crimson magma wind through them like ugly scars.
Twisted and grotesque rocks stand jagged and menacing, resembling the bones of a dying giant beast.
The air is thick with Chaos Magic Power, suffocating, as the low growls and distant shrieks of unknown monsters echo in the deathly silence, forming the eternal background noise of this land of despair.
Beyond the White Wall lies a crimson Purgatory paved with death and remnants.
The war has ended, and the Night Watchers have claimed victory, now dealing with the demon corpses.
Each demon charge brings a massive amount of corpses, piled outside the defensive line, almost forming a mountain, layer upon layer, emanating a putrid stench of decay and blood.
As far as the eye can see, there are dismembered bodies, shattered shells, and congealed dark purple blood clots, staining the already desolate and charred land with a more filthy hue.
Muddied blood gathers into dark red streams, meandering at the base of the corpse mountain, seeping into the scorched earth.
Broken weapons, fragmented bones, and meaningless desecration runes scatter around, creating a cruel and chaotic post-war scene.
However, many of these bodies are incomplete; it’s hard to find one that is whole and without any flaws.
Nevertheless, it doesn’t matter; the butchers of the Abyss Blood Battle Battlefield are highly skilled in processing demon corpses.
Here, processing demon corpses has almost formed an assembly line.
The Night Watchers and Avengers slump in various places, sitting or lying down, not minding the filthy and dirty environment around them, nor the remnants of blood chunks on the ground, casually gathering in groups.
They hold some packaged dry food in hand, nibbling.
Meanwhile, a multitude of small creatures, similar to goblins, appear on the battlefield.
Some goblins wield whips, standing by, constantly shouting: "Hurry up, you filthy little things, quickly drag these bodies over, they’ll spoil if you’re slow!"
Exactly.
These goblins are foremen.
And those responsible for the work are similar to goblins, but with a distinct difference from the goblins in Kana’s world.
After all, the goblins in their world are also constructed by the world’s will imitating other Star Realm creatures.
The goblins of these Star Realm existences have a larger quantity, possessing some simple intelligence, due to being overwhelmingly numerous and having intelligence, they can handle some simple tasks, thus they are employed en masse by goblin merchants as laborers.
Of course, a crucial point is that goblins themselves belong to the Chaos faction race, but are too weak and truly lack any special skills.
This causes them to have high resistance to chaos, but they will submit to majesty and power.
Therefore, they have become the best laborers on the Abyss Battlefield.
Even normal humans, in such an environment, dragging and processing demon corpses are easily invaded and driven insane by chaotic magic power.
Goblins, however, absolutely need not worry.
They categorize and drag the bodies, taking them to the surrounding slaughter camps.
These bodies are divided, extracting those usable materials.
And these materials are almost immediately settled, then dragged to the Blood War Fortress for sale.
This is the most vital source of funds for the Order Faction on the Blood Battle Battlefield, and the reason many worlds or powers are willing to send their people into Blood Battle.
Demons, to some extent, are truly a treasure trove.
Chaos makes their bodies excessively random, therefore some useful materials always appear.
"How many demons do you think we dispatched this time?"
A Night Watcher who just arrived less than half a year ago, sipping his drink.
The refreshing liquid flows into his throat, soothing his lungs, then easing his mind, quickly alleviating exhaustion and simply removing the traces of chaotic aura contaminating his body.
Hearing this, a nearby Dwarf Avenger casually tapped his somewhat dented iron armor, stood up, shook himself, and chugged a beer.
"Who the hell knows, but judging by the scale, at least two hundred thousand, right? That’s how demons are; the number of those little Inferior Demons is comparable to these goblins. But creatures like these big guys are not as numerous, only a few hundred at most."
He said while also using his hammer to tap the Frenzy Demon corpse he leaned against as a backrest.
The demon army, though tide-like, is largely composed, even sixty percent, of those weak but numerously numbered minor demons.
Yet do not underestimate the strength of these minor demons; their common strength reaches Level Four to Level Five.
The issue is their quantity being at a goblin tier, which is quite tricky.
The demon levels can likely be classified as low-tier demons, mid-tier demons, and high-tier demons.
This classification is rather rough but generally encompasses most demons’ strength, only the elites surpass their demon level.
For example, minor demons, Inferior Demons, these low-tier demons mostly range in power from Level Three to Level Five, only some powerful individuals can exceed the threshold, allegedly there’s a legendary minor demon, but it’s not on this layer of the Blood Battle Battlefield.
