Chapter 1352: Instruction Sets In Core Metacs.

This removal of compatibility between the Core Metacs alone broke the Root of Life as a viable Core Metac, as without backward compatibility, they could no longer work together from Rank 1 to Rank 5. They were essentially different Core Metacs now and would reject each other within the mortal.

In exchange for this madness, he had more room to change the Core Metacs. Without worrying about compatibility, one vibrating string from Rank 2 to Rank 5 was freed up for extra functionality.

After he broke the compatibility, he picked up the Rank 1 Core Metac and tweaked its functions a little bit by changing its abilities from (Extract and give life to disciples) & (Enhance the disciples’ power) to (Extract lifespan and Enhance disciples’ power) & (Fuse with the Energy Well). So it still had only two vibrating strings and wasn’t a Rank 2 Core Metac yet.

This was against common sense, as only Rank 2 Core Metacs should fuse with the Energy Well. But this was just the start.

Next, he picked the Rank 2 version and filled in the empty space where the compatibility used to be with (Combine with Rank 1 version to expand). The instruction that used to be in that space was (Replace the Rank 1 version without rejection).

The Rank 2 version already contained the instructions for (Fuse with the Energy Well), (Grow Energy Threads), and (Withstand Energy Density from level 5 to level 8).

Since he didn’t need (Fuse with the Energy Well) and already had (Combine with Rank 1 to expand), which would now make the Rank 2 version fuse with the Energy Well, he decided to replace the (Fuse with the Energy Well) instruction.

He changed the (Fuse with the Energy Well) instruction to (Use lifespan to grow). So the Rank 2 version now had (Combine with Rank 1 version to expand), (Grow Energy Threads), (Withstand Energy Density from level 5 to level 8), and (Use lifespan to grow) instructions.

In total, it contained 4 vibrating strings, so it was bigger than a regular Rank 2 Core Metac. But it was as big as a Rank 3 Core Metac.

He nodded in satisfaction. Then he switched his attention to the Rank 3 version.

In the gap where the (Replace the Rank 2 version without rejection) used to be, he put the (Combine with Rank 2 version to expand) instruction. Then he added the (Devour lifespan) instruction.

After that, he removed the (Create Life Ability) instruction and replaced it with (Devour Life Abilities). The addition of an extra instruction increased its size to 8, but it was fine since the limit was 9.

For Rank 4, the only change he made was replacing the (Replace the Rank 3 version without rejection) instruction with (Combine with Rank 3 version to expand). The next big changes didn’t occur till Rank 4.

In the Rank 5 version, he did the usual and replaced the (Replace the Rank 4 version without rejection) instruction with the (Combine with Rank 4 version to expand). Then he replaced the (Summon Divine Position) instruction with (Devour Divine Position).

This last change was his solution for creating a lot of divine beings cheaply. He hadn’t settled on this idea yet, but he thought it was interesting, so he used it as a placeholder.

With the ability to devour Divine Positions, his Rank 5 disciples won’t need to use their Life Abilities to create Divine Positions. Instead, they will use the Life Abilities they stole to devour Divine Positions from other pathways.

Things would get a little complicated if a divine being already occupied the Divine Position. The Rank 5 mortal would have to fight and defeat the divine being to get the Divine Position. But he wasn’t worried about mortals fighting divine beings since his Rank 5 disciples would have Domain Power and would be very strong.

"Yes, yes. They will summon the Divine Position even if it is occupied, so the divine being would have to appear to stop them," he said, grinning evilly.

"If they appear to defend their divine positions, my disciples would kill them. If they don’t appear, my disciples would steal their Divine Positions. How great is that?"

This way, as long as other pathways have Divine Positions, his disciples could always become divine beings. He would have preferred it if other Dao Lords helped his disciples advance directly, but he knew they wouldn’t agree.

After all, Dao Lords don’t help their disciples advance even though they could create Divine Positions. So there was no way they would help his disciples.

After he finished his tweaks, he used the spark of power to fuse the modified Root of Power. The result was a Rank 5 Core Metac with (Extract lifespan and Enhance disciples’ power), (Fuse with the Energy Well), (Expand from Rank 1 to Rank 5), (Grow Energy Threads), (Withstand Energy Density from level 5 to level 20), (Use lifespan to grow), (Devour lifespan), (Devour Life Abilities), (Create the Mind Palace), (Create the Power Core), (Create the Mental World, and (Devour Divine Position) instructions.

The (Expand from Rank 1 to Rank 5) instructions were created from the fusion of the (Combine with Rank 1 version to expand), (Combine with Rank 2 version to expand), (Combine with Rank 3 version to expand), and (Combine with Rank 4 version to expand) instructions of the Rank 2, Rank 3, Rank 4, and Rank 5 Core Metacs, respectively.
