THE GOD EATER
Chapter 1363: Grand Dao For Sale.
The fact that he had to jump through hoops and prepare explanations to do the extraordinary things he was capable of grated on him. It was really pushing him closer to the idea he had about destroying the entire Sea of Worlds.
But what he hated most was that he was going to mess up one way or another. He didn’t think he was perfect and was sure that he would make a mistake eventually.
In fact, he believed it was only a matter of time before he was caught in a lie and revealed damning evidence. That eventuality was like a guillotine primed above his neck and ready to fall at a random time.
Safe to say, he didn’t like this at all. If he had his way, things would be very different.
He would have loved to have all of the resources he needed, grind conversion efficiency in peace, and advance his cultivation without fighting anyone. Unfortunately, he couldn’t live peacefully with everyone.
He had to defend his Divine Mountain, find celestial gold to build the mountain, find more celestial gold to advance his cultivation, expand his Domain in the lower realm to keep his position, expand his sect to secure his Domains, compete with Dao Lords for mortals, and prevent super worlds from advancing. So struggle and competition were everywhere.
Actually, he didn’t mind the competition and would gladly take part in it, as long as they weren’t spying on him every time. Otherwise, he would be comfortable with the Gemini race securing celestial gold for him, stopping any powerful Dao Lords from trying to steal his Divine Mountain, and stepping in to help him every step of the way.
But the Gemini race refused to stop surveilling him, and they refused to give him the resources he needed. They did everything they shouldn’t do while waiting for him to stumble and fall.
’I half suspect they want me to face adversity so that they can see what I am truly capable of,’ he thought, grinding his teeth.
’When will I be free? When do I get to stop hiding and spread my wings?’
Unfortunately, freedom didn’t come cheaply. The time for freedom would only come when he was strong enough to secure it. Until then, he had to balance pretending that making Supreme Metacs, which he had supreme mastery of, was difficult and losing lifespan in the process while trying not to lose too much lifespan for fear of exposing that he was filthy rich.
’I was wrong. Being beaten around by Wandering Thief while Gemini younglings challenge me for Mountain Lord’s position isn’t the worst experience ever.’
’I will take Wandering Thief beating me any day over this. At least I will have the freedom to do whatever I can do to resist him,’ he thought glumly as he failed his first attempt, making the Abyss Hunger Supreme Metac.
When he finally succeeded in making the Abyss Hunger Supreme Metac, he sent an avatar to make a deal with the Will of Alpha Peak.
This time, their conversation took place outside of the world. The Will of the World came out to meet him, looking at him menacingly.
When he said, "I have a deal for you. I want you to secure my Domain and never remove it from your divine constellation. In exchange, I will give you a Grand Dao."
The reply was the opposite of what the Will of the Blessed Heaven World said. It was what he wanted to hear at all.
The Will of Alpha Peak said, "Unfortunately, I can’t do that."
"I have been told that you’re a Gemini and an enemy of the normal inhabitants of the Sea of Worlds. Plus, I have been offered a Major Supreme Metac to kill you."
"But now that you’re offering a Grand Dao, I’m torn. I feel like if I grab you, I can use you to force your true body to give me the Grand Dao."
He knew that the Will of Alpha Peak was greedy, so he said, "How about this? You can take my offer and also try to kill me."
"After all, I am not asking you not to kill me. I’m only asking that you not touch my Supreme Metac, so you can still kill me to earn that Major Supreme Metac and my Grand Supreme Metac."
"That’s not a bad idea, actually," the Will of Alpha Peak said, its eyes gleaming in anticipation.
But it wasn’t blinded by greed and said, "But I have a modification to the deal. I don’t want to secure your Domain forever. There has to be a limit."
"You won’t need that once I’m dead," Loki said, chuckling. "In fact, if you kill me, I won’t be able to establish any Domain, so you will have nothing to worry about."
"I’m not stupid, Gemini," the Will said, sneering.
"If I don’t have anything to worry about, you won’t be pushing to make this deal even though you know that I want to kill you. Clearly, you’re confident in yourself."
"Are you not confident in yourself?" Loki asked with a smile.
The Will of Alpha Peak saw that smile and had a chill. That chill hardened its determination, so it said, "I insist. We won’t go through with the deal if you don’t make my modification."
"How about this? You will secure my Domain for as long as I don’t intentionally harm you and your world. Isn’t that a good offer?" Loki asked.
This was the same deal he made with the Blessed Heaven World. Unfortunately, it wasn’t good enough now. The Will of Alpha Peak was too suspicious of his motive and was determined not to let him have his way.
It said, "It is a good offer. But the fact that you’re offering something so good means that you will gain a greater benefit from an indefinite security."
"The future can change, and anything can happen. I don’t want to be put into a corner forever because of this deal, so you must change it."
