THE GOD EATER
Chapter 1364: True Intentions.
What the Will said was true. Loki would indeed gain a lot of benefits if he didn’t have to worry about his Domain being cut off abruptly. But it was wrong to believe that level of benefit was the only thing he was here for.
Securing his Domain was half the deal he made with the Blessed Heaven World and half his objectives for approaching the Will of Alpha Peak. As a greedy person, he wouldn’t settle for one thing if he could have two or more.
Now that the Will of Alpha Peak had taken the bait and was restricting one side of the deal, he felt it was a good time to introduce the switch.
He said, "Fine. You win."
"You only get to secure my Domain for a hundred years. Are you happy now?"
The Will said, "No, I’m not happy. That’s too generous, so now I’m suspicious of you. What are you up to?"
Loki replied, dropping a bombshell, "It is simple. I also want you to promise not to ascend in the hundred years my Domain will be in your world."
The phantom figure rippled immediately and said in a solemn voice, "I can’t do that."
"I can’t accept an offer that will leave me trapped here for any amount of time. I want to be able to ascend at any time and free myself from the imprisonment of my world."
Loki knew that his request would fail, but he still frowned in displeasure and said, "You keep shutting down my requests. This doesn’t show good will on your side. Do you want to make a deal or not?"
The Will should have been confident enough to take the Grand Supreme Metac by force. In fact, it should have said, "Fuck your offer."
Then it should attack the avatar and capture it to use it to force Loki to hand over the Grand Dao.
But whether it was because it wouldn’t be able to kill the avatar for the Major Supreme Metac and ransom it for a Grand Supreme Metac at the same time, or because it wasn’t sure it wouldn’t be able to get the Grand Dao if it didn’t make this deal with Loki, it chose to capitulate when Loki threatened to call off the deal.
It said, "I will accept the offer as long as it is something reasonable."
Now that he had it exactly where he wanted it, Loki revealed his true intentions and said, "Since you’re being so picky. Here is something reasonable for you."
"I want you to refuse to accept any Supreme Metac from any Dao Lord for a hundred years," he said nonchalantly.
He was nonchalant as if he hadn’t asked for something important. What he asked for was very important, but it wasn’t as important as being forced not to ascend.
After all, the Will of Alpha Peak could ascend now if it wanted. It didn’t need any Dao Lord’s help to do so, which made this request seem much smaller in comparison to the earlier one.
Even so, the Will of Alpha Peak considered the request for a long time and didn’t accept it immediately. It was silent for a long time before it said, "Will this condition take effect only when you manage to establish a Domain, or regardless of whether you establish a Domain here or not?"
"You know what?" Loki said, smiling. "I’ll be generous and make it so that this part of the deal will only be active for as long as I have a Domain on your world."
The Will didn’t know why he was smiling, but it decided that it didn’t like that smile at all. Something about that smile gave it a weird, unnatural feeling, like a calm before a storm, so it reviewed the offer thoroughly to make sure that there was nothing wrong with it.
After the thorough review, it said, "If I am getting this right, you want me to protect your Domain on my world for a hundred years, during which I must not accept any Supreme Metac or create new Domains for a hundred years."
"In exchange, you will give me a Grand Supreme Metac which will be delivered before you establish the Domain. Is that all?"
"That’s mostly it," Loki said, nodding.
"Except, you have to accept my Supreme Metac and help expand my Domain. You only block other Dao Lords, not me."
The Will of the World said, "A hundred years is a short amount of time, so I have no problem with your offer. You have a deal."
"You won’t regret this," Loki said, smiling again.
Seeing that smile once again, the Will lost its patience. It said hurriedly, "Let’s seal the deal and be done with this."
It really was in a hurry. As soon as they made the oaths and Loki gave it the Abyss Devouring Supreme Metac, it turned to leave immediately.
Loki called after it and said, "Are we not fighting?"
Without looking back, it said, "I’m not interested anymore."
"I have a feeling that trying to kill your avatar would end in failure. I don’t want to waste my energy only to succeed in offending a Dao Lord whose Domain I can’t remove for a hundred years."
"So send your Supreme Metac and be gone. I don’t want to see you anymore."
Then its white, foggy body plunged back into its world.
Loki chuckled as he said, "Good choice. Maybe I’ve misjudged you."
As he spoke, the Loki in the sky sent down the projection of the Devouring Supreme Metac. The world accepted it without any hassle and anchored it to the divine constellation.
Seeing this, Loki grinned and said, "Two down, three more to go."
Then his figure flashed away.
The deal he made with the Blessed Heaven World was more generous for obvious reasons. It would protect his Domain as long as he didn’t intentionally harm it. It would also refuse to accept any other Supreme Metacs for a hundred years.
