His voice was full of sorrow as he said, "What good is there about becoming the domain king anyway? The last one was killed, so how great can the position be? It definitely isn’t worth what we’ve lost in this struggle."

"I lost my two brothers. The Human Emperor is also gone. Then there is the death of the Harem King. So many people died and so many pathways lost, and for what?"

While he was lamenting his fate, he sensed the source of danger getting close to him.

So he sighed and said, "It is here."

Then his face became determined as he said, "If I go out, I will go out with a fight. Let it not be said that Golden Sun was defeated without a struggle."

As he spoke, his golden eyes began to shine. They shone like golden suns and lit up the world around him.

The golden light seemed to melt everything around him into nothingness. Solid rock melted away like ice evaporating, so the underground cave quickly expanded into an underground world.

In the sky, Loki was looking for Slav. He expected Slav to run from the underground cave, and from his experience, Slav usually ran towards the world barrier. So he started his search from the world barrier.

There were four world barriers that Slav could run towards if he wanted to escape from the Central Domain. But Slav had always used the eastern world barrier to escape to the Eastern Domain, which is the territory of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect.

Based on what had happened two timelines ago, he determined that Slav went to the Myriad Phenomenon Sect to find a way to become a divine being. So he decided to start looking for Slav from the eastern world barrier.

On his way to the world barrier, he thought to himself, ’With his aged body, I doubt he will come anywhere near the world barrier. If he tries it, the world barrier will surely kill him.’

’But he is a fallen Dao Lord, so he shouldn’t be underestimated. Maybe he will find a way to withstand the draining of the world barrier.’

He believed that he had everything well thought out. So it came as a surprise to him when he didn’t find Slav in the world barrier or anywhere near the world barrier.

He checked both sides of the eastern world barrier just to be sure, not just the side that was in the Central Domain. This was to make sure that Slav hadn’t really found a way to pass through the world barrier. Unfortunately, he still couldn’t find Slav.

At this point, he began to consider the possibility that he might have lost Slav. But he didn’t jump to that conclusion yet because he still had places to search for Slav.

Since he couldn’t find Slav at the eastern world barrier, he said, "It could also be that he hasn’t reached the world barrier yet. His aged body would surely have slowed him down, so he might still be in the Central Domain."

So he began tracing the path that Slav was likely to take to reach the eastern world barrier. He flew in a straight line from the world barrier all the way to the underground cave.

As he flew, he had his Insight Stat activated to the limit across his range of perception. He also wanted to use the divine constellation to search for Slav or anyone who looked like him. Unfortunately, that wasn’t an option for him.

He slightly regretted that he didn’t possess a Divine Position of the Blessed Heaven World. So he thought about creating a new Divine Position now. However, he gave up on the idea because he didn’t want anything to distract him from what he was currently doing.

He wasn’t ready to deal with any complication that might arise from the creation of a Divine Position. Especially, since he had only recently offended the Thorn House of Commerce.

However, he did promise himself, thinking, ’If I don’t find him soon, I will gain a Divine Position and use it to find him.’

He was considering this possibility when he came near the underground cave. At this point, he was sure that he wouldn’t find Slav this way. After all, if Slav had left for the eastern world barrier, he should have found Slav by now.

Since there were three other options and Slav could be anywhere in the Blessed Heaven World, he began to think about what kind of Divine Position he should create to gain access to the divine constellation.

He asked himself, thinking, ’Should I create one for the Money Pathway? If I do, the Thorn House of Commerce will definitely interfere.’

’Even if I change my appearance and manage to fool them into thinking I am someone else, they would still come after me because they are the overlords of the Money Pathway. No new Divine Position can be created in the pathway without their permission.’

’Plus, they just lost a member. They should have more reasons to try to recruit the new divine being. So the Thorn House of Commerce is definitely going to come.’

When he thought about his other options, he nodded, thinking, ’I could also try the Forging Pathway. The Nanite Metac will do nicely for that. And I should be able to take on any rank 7 fool who tries to take my Divine Position from me.’

’Or I could try to create a Divine Position for the Mind Hunter Pathway. The Mind Freeze Metac will be put to use this way.’

Then he shook his head as he thought, ’Whatever option I pick, I should create many Divine Metacs at once. That way, I only have to deal with interference from that pathway once and for all.’

At this point, he had reached the sky above the underground caves. All that remained was for him to go down and look just to make sure that Slav hadn’t tried to pull a fast one on him.
