THE GOD EATER

Chapter 766: Classic Golden Sun.

When he thought about the possibility that Slav had tried to pull a fast one on him possibility, he chuckled and said, "Surely, he didn’t think that if he stayed put, I wouldn’t find him. He has to be smarter than that, right?"

As he chuckled, he thought to himself, ’I’ll just go down and take a quick look. Then I’ll go to the heavenly city in the first heaven to get mutated Divine Metacs.’

He had already given up on finding Slav this way, so he was very surprised when a golden sun suddenly appeared in the sky. The light of this golden sun erased everything it touched from existence.

Even the air wasn’t spared. So a vacuum was forming right there in the ground.

This vacuum caused air to rush into the area. But the air was erased just as it came. So more air rushed into the vacuum. This movement of the air caused a whirlpool of surging wind to form around the golden sun.

Loki’s first reaction was, of course, immense surprise that Slav was still in the underground caves. His surprise increased in intensity when he realized that Slav seemed to be able to tell that he had come looking for him.

The intense surprise made his mouth drop open in shock as he said, "No way."

But his surprise and shock quickly turned into fear as he said, "Not good."

Just as he said this, the sky cracked open like glass, and something appeared in the cracks that blocked out the light of the sun. When he looked up, he saw many cracks in the sky. He also saw many eyes looking through the cracks.

There were five cracks in total in the sky, and there were five pairs of eyes. He saw that every pair of eyes looked similar to the others. Each eye was a multicolored orb of light swirling with mysterious power.

Their eyes were a kaleidoscope of colors. The pupils of the eyes were fractured, and each fracture had a different color. The colors were always changing, and even the position of the fractures was not constant. This gave their eyes a mysterious appearance.

But their eyes also possessed a quality beyond being mysterious. Loki wasn’t sure, but he felt like those eyes could see through him, including his thoughts. So he made up his mind to be as inconspicuous as possible.

While Loki was reeling with the shock of the turn of events, the eyes in the rifts in the sky swept through the world and focused on the golden sun. The owners of the eyes saw Loki, but he was ignored because he was an insignificant rank 6 world king.

Of course, they wanted to know what a world king was doing in the Blessed Heaven World, but that was for later. There was a more important thing to deal with right now.

However, even though they ignored Loki, Loki was still frozen in place beneath their gaze. He wasn’t the only one who, though. Everyone and everything in the world had frozen as if stuck in amber.

Then a voice came from the sky saying, "We meet again, Golden Sun. I knew you weren’t dead. That’s good to hear."

In response, a voice came from the golden sun in the ground saying, "I’m guessing you want to finish what you started."

The voice from the sky said, "Naturally. But I would have preferred it if you didn’t have to be loud about it."

Then the voice chuckled as it said, "You could have released only a wisp of your presence so that everyone wouldn’t be alarmed, and I could have you all to myself. But you had to make this difficult for me. Classic Golden Sun move right there."

Another voice from the sky joined in, saying, "It is just like him to make a scene. That’s what I liked about him."

A third voice said, "Right. It is his nature to take the difficult path when things could be easier. It feels just like yesterday."

Loki didn’t know who was speaking as their voices seemed to be coming from everywhere at once. But he couldn’t complain about this because he physically couldn’t and because no one else could hear their voices.

Everyone in the world had become frozen to the extent that their thoughts had stalled. So they couldn’t hear anything. In fact, from their perspective, there was nothing wrong with the world.

They didn’t even notice that they were frozen. Only Loki could still think, so his situation was better than that of others. So he had no right to complain. But if it still wanted to be a nuisance and complain, he didn’t have the power to because he was frozen.

Unfortunately, the fact that he could still think in this frozen world might not be a good thing. Especially when he became irritated and thought, ’Why are these Dao Lords so loud? And what’s with all the talking? If they are going to make a move, they should do so and leave me alone.`

As soon as he had this thought, the eyes in the sky turned to stare at him.

One of them even said, "What do we have here?"

Another one said, "Interesting."

A third voice said, "Is he a fool or does he have something to rely on?"

These voices echoed around him as if he were in a cave and the cave walls were bouncing sound back and forth. The weird part was that the words they spoke didn’t disappear.

As their words echoed through the world, the volume of their voice didn’t fade away with time, and their words didn’t disappear. It was as if their words had been etched into the fabric of the world, never to be forgotten.

To Loki, it was more like their voices and words had been engraved into his mind. So, not only could he not forget what was spoken, but he was constantly hearing what they said a long time ago as if they were saying it right now.
