THE GOD EATER

Chapter 772: No Danger.

When Skarg heard what his second son said about the inheritance of a divine being he snorted and said, "You’re underestimating the inheritance of a divine being too much. If we find that inheritance, we might even become divine beings ourselves. Then we will have eternal lives and the sky will be the limit."

Simon immediately nodded in agreement and said, "You’re right, Father. It seems we’ve struck the jackpot."

These two were daydreaming about the good things that they could acquire from the inheritance of a divine being of the Luck Pathway. This made them more enthusiastic about reaching the inheritance than Slav.

By this time, Slav had also become eager to find the inheritance. So he was quick to give them directions as they traveled through the underground tunnels.

After a while of moving around, Slav asked them to stop. Where they stopped was an inconspicuous part of the tunnel, and there didn’t seem to be anything special about the spot. But the two of them listened to Slav anyway.

They stayed in the same spot for a few minutes while impatiently stamping their foot on the ground. The wait hadn’t been long, but it felt like an eternity for them.

Fortunately, what they came for finally arrived. The Cave Heaven sensed that Slav had arrived, so it overlapped with the world and took in Slav and the others.

All three of them were immediately mesmerized by the sight of the Cave Heaven. The sight of the golden sun in the sky was the most stunning. It took their breath away, gazing at it.

But after being amazed by the sight, Slav began to sense what was to come. He realized that his suspicion that the sickness that aged him was a tool to motivate him to come here was the truth.

The first thing he felt about this was dissatisfaction. He didn’t like being toyed with or forced to do something. But when he sensed through the Fortune Seeker Metac that whatever was about to happen was a good thing, he decided not to leave.

But he did chuckle and say, "Not that I can leave anyway. This is my destiny."

He could sense that now that he had entered this special space, he wouldn’t be allowed to leave. So whatever was going to happen wasn’t something he could avoid by running away.

Skarg heard what he said, so the rank 4 enslavement cultivator asked him, saying, "What are you talking about?"

Slav didn’t look at him as he said, "It is coming."

Slav was looking at the sky when he answered that question. Specifically, he was looking at the golden sun in the sky.

The way he was behaving made Skarg and Simon both look up at the sky. But all they saw was a flash of bright golden light before they lost consciousness.

The golden sun had fallen from the sky into Slav. They had been too close to Slav, so they were killed by the slight release of power as the golden sun fused with Slav’s mind.

This fusion awakened Slav’s memories of his past life. The memories answered a lot of questions that he had, but they also brought with them a lot more questions.

There was the matter of the missing Danger Sense Metac and the fact that he wasn’t supposed to be the one to reincarnate. His brother was the one who was supposed to reincarnate with the Rewind Metac, not him with an ordinary Core Metac.

But as important as these oddities were, Golden Sun had more important things that he didn’t understand. Especially the events surrounding his strange illness and the sudden cure of his illness.

So the first thing he did was to check his body for any problems. He was hoping to see what had caused the aging sickness. Unfortunately, he didn’t see anything wrong with his body other than his abnormal age.

This made him rack his brain trying to figure out what had happened. As he thought about it, he said, "It doesn’t look like an illness. It looks more like my lifespan was absorbed. Only a Dao Lord should be able to do that."

"But a Dao Lord needs a link to me before they can absorb lifespan from me. They can’t just absorb lifespan anyhow from anyone. They need the target to be using their Core Metac or Divine Metac. I don’t have either of those things, so this doesn’t make sense whatsoever."

"And there doesn’t seem to be any signs that someone attacked me. If there were signs, the impact of their law fragments should be present on my body, and I should be able to sense it."

"Since I can’t sense anything, either the source of the illness is too profound for me to perceive, or the source of the illness gave up and left."

If he could sense any sort of danger, he might be able to link his unnatural illness to the source of danger. But he couldn’t sense anything wrong with his body, and he couldn’t sense any danger.

In fact, his chance of surviving the day has improved to 90%. So by any interpretation, all is nearly fine and well with him.

When he couldn’t figure out why he had aged so rapidly, he said, "Forget it. What I need to do is grow stronger before those vultures come for me. I’m sure they won’t let me go if they get a whiff of my presence."

Meanwhile, Loki was currently fighting Forced Exchange. He was also using the divine constellation to pressure Forced Exchange.

This is happening because he killed Gold Body, took Gold Body’s place, and ran for it. Forced Exchange and three other money cultivators had chased after him when he ran away. Those three money cultivators are dead now. Only Forced Exchange is still kicking.

Unlike what he usually did, he didn’t have Monarch Money Construct in his hands. This was because he no longer needed the amplification from the Vengeful Bones Metac.
