Chapter 786: Watch Your Words.
He was actually right in that Loki was unlikely to gain anything from killing him. After all, he wasn’t the owner of his Cave Heaven and Loki was unlikely to gain access to the Cave Heaven with his death. But Loki was not in a rush to reap any short-term benefit. He is in this for the long run, so he refused to give up.
So he smiled and said, "How would I know that there is no benefit in killing you if I don’t try?"
His reply made Shadow Body shake his head in confusion as he muttered, "Crazy. You’re crazy."
Since he couldn’t convince Loki not to kill him, he turned to Many Eyes, who was watching in the distance, and said, "You’d better run and never stop running because if I die, my alliance leader will never spare you."
But Many Eyes shook his head as he said fearlessly, "I know your alliance leader doesn’t care if one of you dies. She will just replace you with someone else."
Shadow Body couldn’t deny this, but he still said, "It won’t be easy to replace me, though. I am rank 7, so if I die, you would have made her lose a rank 7 subordinate. She is going to get angry because of it. And you know what she can do if she gets angry?"
Despite painting a dangerous scene of retribution and punishment, Many Eyes shrugged and said, "She may get angry. If she gets angry, she is unlikely to get angry at me because I didn’t kill you and had nothing to do with your death."
He had made some reasonable points, but Shadow Body shouted hysterically at him, saying, "Of course, you have something to do with my death. I stalked you, and I died while doing so. How does that have nothing to do with you?"
In reply, Many Eyes sighed and said, "Then I hope she will be reasonable enough to take a gift of forgiveness from me. Aside from that, there is nothing I can do. After all, I couldn’t help you defeat him, so there is no way I can stop him from killing you alone."
In the core of his Cave Heaven, Shadow Body had his head bowed as he explained his situation to his alliance leader, Monarch Shadow Clone.
After listening to what he had to say, she said with a tone of curiosity, "So you followed the seer to find his stash of worlds. Did you find any world?"
He had said a lot of things, including how he was currently in a dangerous situation and how he was likely to die soon. But out of everything he said, this was the only thing that interested her.
Unfortunately, he could only say, "We didn’t find any of his small worlds. But we did find one belonging to the Thorn House of Commerce."
His words made her frown and say, "What am I supposed to do with that information? Are you telling me to go and steal from Thorn House of Commerce?"
The tone of her voice was that of irritation, so he knew that she was either close to getting angry or she was pretending to be close to getting angry.
He couldn’t tell which of these two options she was doing. But he couldn’t take the risk, so he shook his head and said, "I am not saying that at all, your greatness."
In response, she waved her hand and said with an unconcerned voice, "Deal with it yourself."
Shadow Body couldn’t do what she asked him to do, so he said bitterly, "I can’t deal with it myself. That’s why I need your help."
Monarch Shadow Clone looked down with a gaze full of contempt as she said, "And what do you have to give me in exchange for my help?"
Shadow Body hurriedly said, "I have the location of the small world that belongs to the Thorn House of Commerce. I can also steal it for you. That way, any problem that arises from the theft will fall entirely on me."
She tapped her foot lightly as she thought about his offer. Then she said, "It is a tempting offer, but it is not good enough. I can have the location of the small world by tracing your steps, and I can steal the small world myself or have someone else steal it for me."
Her words made him chuckle bitterly and say, "I didn’t think you would be interested in the small world since you seemed averse to crossing the Thorn House of Commerce. But it seems I had underestimated your shamelessness."
When she heard what he said, her face became as cold as ice, and her eyes narrowed dangerously as she said, "Watch your words."
But Shadow Body glared at her and said, "Or what?"
Without waiting for her to answer, he laughed hysterically, as he said, "Go on. Tell me what you will do to me that’s worse than death."
He seemed to have reached the limit of what he could endure. Loki’s beatings, the poison seeping into his body, Many Eyes’ abandonment, and Shadow Clone’s refusal to save him, even when she could have carved away at his composure until there was nothing left.
This made him raise his voice and shout at her, saying, "I may be your slave, but you’re also a slave to someone else. One day, you will feel the despair I am feeling right now. One day, you will suffer the same pain or worse, and you will wish you were dead. One day, you will..."
She had heard enough, so she waved her hand to cut him off. A silent, invisible wind also blew through the core of the Cave Heaven as she waved her hand. The wind blew against Shadow Body’s Life Fire and put it out.
After killing Shadow Body, she sneered and said, "You’re blaming me when the only thing you should be blaming is your weakness. After all, it was your weakness that led you to this point."
