The Goddess CEO Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 132: Ambiguity
Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Ambiguity
"You have to take all of them. These are anti-inflammatories. They’ll help you recover faster and better."
"And this pile is for the pain. It must hurt so much, but you didn’t say a word. If the doctor hadn’t told me, I would have never known."
Jiang Fan gave her a chiding look.
When the doctor gave him the medicine, he had mentioned that the incision would be very painful for the first two days after the surgery. He’d said she had to endure it and couldn’t scratch or touch it.
But Sun Yanzi’s face showed no sign of pain.
She had been holding it in the whole time.
"Sun, it’s getting late. I’m going to head back now."
"Jiang, you take good care of Sun."
Rong Anyao spoke up.
"Alright, you head back then. Thanks for all your hard work today."
Jiang Fan said, scratching his head.
"It was nothing. I’ll come by again tomorrow."
With that, Rong Anyao slung her small bag over her shoulder and left the hospital room, leaving the two of them alone.
"I’m going to get you some congee. You should be able to eat something now."
"Okay."
Gazing at the side of Jiang Fan’s focused face, a blush crept onto Sun Yanzi’s pretty cheeks.
Jiang Fan sorted the medicine, then went to buy a serving of congee and some side dishes.
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE.
The moment Jiang Fan sat down, Sun Yanzi’s stomach started to growl.
She was mortified.
Jiang Fan just smiled without saying anything.
He opened the container, took out a small spoon, and blew on the congee bit by bit to cool it before bringing it to Sun Yanzi’s lips.
"I can do it myself. There’s nothing wrong with my hands."
Sun Yanzi said, her face red.
"Just lie back and relax."
"I’ll feed you."
"Open up."
Jiang Fan’s tone was so firm that Sun Yanzi had no choice but to obediently open her mouth.
She ate the congee, one small spoonful at a time.
But before she could have more than a few spoonfuls, Jiang Fan suddenly pulled the spoon away.
"What are you doing? I’m not full yet."
Sun Yanzi asked, looking dazed.
"Have you forgotten your current condition?"
"A couple of bites is enough for now. You can eat more tonight. Besides, you need to save room for your medicine."
Hearing this, Sun Yanzi’s face immediately fell.
"Do I really have to take it? Can’t I skip it?"
Her voice was soft and coquettish. No man could resist that.
But Jiang Fan just shook his head firmly.
"No! You have to take this medicine."
As he spoke, Jiang Fan had already prepared the medicine. After raising the head of the bed, he handed the small cup to her.
Sun Yanzi took a deep breath, tilted her head back, and drank.
But the next second, she couldn’t help but spit it right out.
"So bitter."
Jiang Fan jumped in alarm and scrambled to pull out tissues, wiping away the medicine she had sprayed out.
"What in the world..."
Jiang Fan had truly never seen anyone have such a hard time taking medicine.
"It’s really so bitter. I can’t swallow it."
Sun Yanzi looked so pitiful, it seemed like tears were about to well up in her eyes.
Jiang Fan was so anxious he started scratching his head.
She had to take these anti-inflammatories.
Otherwise, if the wound got inflamed and infected, it would be even more trouble. It could even become life-threatening if not handled properly.
"I’ve never been able to take medicine, ever since I was a kid. If you can find a way to make me take it, then you’re really something else."
Jiang Fan looked around but couldn’t find anything useful.
The next moment, he took a deep breath, as if he had made a momentous decision.
"You’re the one who said it."
"Don’t you regret it later."
"I can definitely make you drink this medicine."
A curious expression appeared on Sun Yanzi’s face.
Jiang Fan prepared another cup of medicine, then drank it himself. Then, to her utter shock, he slowly leaned down.
Their lips met, their eyes locked.
Sun Yanzi closed her eyes.
She could feel a nimble tongue prying at her teeth.
The familiar scent and that intoxicating feeling made her open her mouth involuntarily.
A stream of medicine flowed past her lips, down her throat, and into her stomach.
The entire process was as smooth as flowing water.
After that, Jiang Fan immediately lifted his head again and poured the rest of the medicine from the cup into his mouth.
He lowered his head and kissed her again.
He repeated this process twice more before Sun Yanzi had finally finished all the medicine.
Having done all this, Jiang Fan let out a sigh of relief.
Then, his whole face twisted into a grimace.
"What is this damn medicine? How is it so bitter?!"
He felt like his tongue had gone numb.
"Is it bitter? I don’t think so."
Sun Yanzi said with a smile.
When she opened her eyes again, there wasn’t a trace of shyness. She looked at Jiang Fan openly, like a completely different person from moments before.
Jiang Fan just shot her a look and said nothing.
Nothing much happened for the rest of the afternoon. Sun Yanzi lay in bed playing on her phone while Jiang Fan dozed on the companion bed beside her, catching up on sleep.
In his daze, Jiang Fan vaguely felt someone push the door open and walk in.
He wanted to open his eyes, but sleepiness clung to him.
A long while later, when he finally woke up, he discovered that Li Muwan had arrived. She was sitting and chatting happily with Sun Yanzi.
"You’re awake? Do you want to go get something to eat?"
"Mu Wan is here to keep me company."
Jiang Fan stretched and yawned.
"Alright, I’ll go grab a bite."
He really was hungry.
When he came back from eating, he brought a serving of congee for Sun Yanzi.
Back in the hospital room, Jiang Fan skillfully opened the container, cooled the congee, and brought it to Sun Yanzi’s lips.
This would have been fine if they were alone, but with Li Muwan staring at them, Sun Yanzi felt a strange sense of unease, as if she were the other woman being caught in the act.
Sun Yanzi lowered her head, took a couple of spoonfuls of congee, and ate a few bites of pickled vegetables.
Seeing that Sun Yanzi was about done eating, Jiang Fan started to prepare her medicine.
His movements were fluid and practiced.
There was no trace of awkwardness.
Just as he was about to use the same method from that afternoon to give Sun Yanzi her medicine, he suddenly remembered that someone else was standing right there.
"Ahem, uh, let’s let the medicine cool down a bit first."
"It’s too hot otherwise, impossible to drink."
"Actually, there’s something I wanted to discuss with you."
Jiang Fan rubbed his hands together and looked at Li Muwan.
"You want to talk about the corporation hiring a streamer, right?"
Jiang Fan froze and turned to look at Sun Yanzi.
"I already told her a little about it, but it’s better if you explain the details."
Sun Yanzi secretly winked at him, and Jiang Fan instantly got the signal.
"Ahem, yes, that’s it."
"Let’s talk."
"Okay, if we were to sign a contract for one video advertisement for a new product each month, what would the specific commission be?"
Jiang Fan asked, taking the initiative.
"250,000."
"That comes out to three million a year."
Li Muwan answered without hesitation, as if she had already prepared her response.
