The Goddess CEO Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 274: A New Surprise
“Since you know him, Young Master Hua, this just got a lot easier!” Jiang Fan said with a laugh.
“What’s up, Jiang? Do you want an introduction to Dong Shaojie? They say the Dong Family has put him in charge of everything now. If you need me to make a connection for you, I’d be happy to help.”
“No need for introductions, Young Master Hua,” Jiang Fan scoffed. “He and I have some bad blood. I don’t like to drag things out, and I want to deal with this headache as quickly as possible. I’d like you to do me a small favor, if you’re able.”
“Um… Jiang, what history do you have with Dong Shaojie? The man just took over Dong Pharmaceutical. And say what you will, the Dong Family is one of Yang City’s Eight Great Clans. It’s better to bury the hatchet than to keep a grudge…”
“So you’re saying you’re unwilling to help, Young Master Hua?”
“Jiang, what are you talking about? My Hua Family can certainly afford to offend the likes of the Dong Family. Just give the word, Jiang.”
Jiang Fan couldn’t help but smile in satisfaction. ‘Even though I had some friction with Hua Qinyun in the beginning, the kid is incredibly sharp. And I love dealing with sharp people.’
“It’s simple, Young Master Hua. I just need you to look into Dong Shaojie’s schedule for me. I’ll handle the rest myself.”
“No problem, Jiang! Leave it to me!”
After hanging up, Jiang Fan slacked off for a bit, then glanced at the time. It was already ten in the morning. He headed toward Li Muwan’s office.
He knocked on the door, but there was no response. Nevertheless, Jiang Fan went into the office.
At that moment, Li Muwan was intently focused on the documents in her hands. She didn’t even notice Jiang Fan walk in.
“Manager Li!” Jiang Fan called out tentatively.
Li Muwan looked up at the sound of his voice and glanced at Jiang Fan, who had unceremoniously plopped down on the sofa.
“Jiang Fan, people from Fengming Group came to see us yesterday,” Li Muwan said, getting straight to the point.
“Over at Fengming Group, it seems Li Fengming was seriously injured, but he’s fine now. Their planning department made a special trip to Xuerong International yesterday to discuss a partnership with us.”
“A partnership?” At first, Jiang Fan thought Sun Yanzi must have misheard, but it turned out Fengming Group really did come to discuss a partnership.
“What is there for us to partner with Fengming Group on?”
Li Muwan frowned and said, “The department head Fengming Group sent this time is named Li Jinming. This guy used to be the top salesperson at a company in the provincial capital, a renowned sales genius. He came here hoping that we, along with Yuefan Group, would enter a three-way partnership with them to jointly plan this holiday event!”
“But haven’t we already planned our event? Wasn’t the plan about to be implemented?”
“Exactly. And that’s precisely why I say this Li Jinming is a sales genius.”
“What do you mean?” Jiang Fan asked.
Li Muwan said gravely, “I’m sure he didn’t just approach our Xuerong Group; Li Jinming must have also gone to Yuefan Group. His proposal is for the three of us to jointly launch a bestselling product. If we don’t agree to cooperate, they’ll launch a massive promotional event, regardless of the cost. That would definitely carve up a huge chunk of our market share.”
“Regardless of the cost? Does that mean they’re planning on mutual destruction?”
“You could say that. It seems Fengming Group is dead set on fighting us to the bitter end this time. We’ve contacted Yuefan Group. While we aren’t afraid of Fengming Group’s competitive sales tactics, we are worried that our event will be significantly impacted.”
Hearing what Li Muwan said, Jiang Fan couldn’t help but nod.
He thought for a moment, stroking his chin.
“So… what’s your plan now?” Jiang Fan asked.
Li Muwan said, “Xue’Er and I just discussed it. Partnering with Fengming Group is impossible. But if we ignore them, we’re worried they might actually do something drastic, like that mutual-destruction plan. My idea is to discuss it with Yuefan Group this afternoon, and also… you’re full of crafty ideas, so I wanted to see if you had any good solutions.”
“What do you mean, I’m ‘full of crafty ideas’?” Jiang Fan said with a wry smile. “I’ve already put a lot of effort into this event. I wracked my brains coming up with the plan, and now this damn roadblock pops up out of nowhere. If I solve this problem for you, how are you going to thank me?”
“What kind of thanks do you want?” Li Muwan asked.
“Hmm… well… First, a doubled bonus is non-negotiable. As for anything else… I haven’t thought of it yet. But I’m sure Manager Li won’t treat me unfairly…”
“Fine, no problem. Jiang Fan, as long as this event is a complete success, I’ll not only double your bonus, I’ll give you a promotion. How about that?”
“Well… that’s all from the company. Doesn’t Manager Li have any… personal token of appreciation?”
“A personal token?” A blush crept onto Li Muwan’s face. “What kind of token are you looking for? Wasn’t my dad’s gesture for the opening of your Hidden Dragon Academy enough?”
“Hehe!” Jiang Fan said with a cheeky grin. “Now that you mention it, you’ve reminded me. Speaking of which, my future father-in-law did help me out in a big way. I guess it’s only right that I solve this problem for you.”
“What do you mean, ‘future father-in-law’?! Jiang Fan, you jerk…”
“Alright, alright, no more joking around. Let’s be serious!”
Jiang Fan’s smile vanished.
“Partnering with Fengming Group is a complete fantasy. It’s impossible. Not only will we refuse, I’m certain Jun Yue will refuse as well. Besides, even if they do launch some massive promotional event, we have even less reason to worry. This Li Jinming guy—’top salesperson,’ ‘sales genius,’ whatever—I bet he’s all talk. Yuefan Group has always focused on high-end, custom products; they don’t compete on volume. Even if Fengming launches a huge promotion, our target audiences are completely different. In fact, if they really do run a massive sale, they’d just be helping us filter for the clients who want high-end customization.”
Jiang Fan paused, then continued, “As long as we stick to our original plan, we won’t be affected much by Fengming Group. Plus, according to my plan, while we’re attracting customers to our physical stores, we can also launch the next phase of our engagement campaign.”
“What kind of campaign?” Li Muwan asked with a frown.
Jiang Fan unhurriedly took his phone out of his pocket and opened WeChat.
“Look at the message I just forwarded you on WeChat!”
Li Muwan looked at the message on her phone and frowned. “Isn’t this from that shopping app? What’s this ‘slash the price’ thing? I’m in no mood for this right now.”
